Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

aerialgroove:

Art in my other books? Nothing you haven’t seen before. The books that I got were:

  • XSF Sega Saturn Guide
  • MvC Dreamcast Guide
  • MvC2 Dreamcast Guide
  • All ABbout SF3: The Fighting Bible
  • Third Strike Dreamcast Guide (forget the name at the moment; I’m in work)
  • CvS2 Official Guide
  • CFJ Official Complete Guide

I haven’t flipped through the Marvel books too much, since they don’t have much of anything that I need. But I don’t think they have any art we haven’t seen.

re: Roxy

Now, I know that originally, both Roxy and Poison were male. Dash no Chris confirmed as much from old arcade mags. AFAIK, Roxy has never officially ever been female or made the transition to female. CCC2 is the only source that claims she’s female.

Poison’s Capcom card in SVC Card Fighters for the DS says that people think that Roxy is Poison’s little sister. Well I suppose it doesn’t reveal much either way, but if it read people think Roxy is Poison’s little brother it would be more obvious that he/she was a man instead of them saying ‘people think… sister’ which could go either way… meaning Roxy could be a girl or just have a really good, ‘disguise.’

Hope it will be useful.

Pretty cool so yeah one less thing for me to worry about since that site has all of the SVC Card bios lol!

On the PC I’m using now, the one at work I can’t see kanji - does the CFJ site have quotes to Pyron and Shin Gouki? If so maybe vasili10 can just use that if he wants.

Anyway thanks a lot!

EDIT: Oh and Poison’s profile from that site from her Capcom card -

“She’s a man, baby! But she’s prettier and sexier than any other woman. She
also used to be a member of Mad Gear. After Mad Gear fell apart, she entered
pro wrestling as Hugo’s manager. Rumor has it Poison Kiss is her kid sister.”

  • But in the game it says Roxy in the last sentence, not Poison Kiss if I remember right. I don’t have the Poison card, but I can see it when people challenge me in the game, I’ll have to wait until I see it again. This may be either a typo on the contributer’s part or just the fact that SNKP fixed a lot of gramatical errors - not all errors- when they replaced the carts.

But didn’t my Japanese FF2 SNES guide scan say that SHE (Roxy) tries to dress like HIM (Poison) and so we figured Roxy was female? What does AAC say in the index (gender)?

wait what those card crap whatever says that ryu is akumas borther(or wait I thought that stupid anime was trying to say he was the farther wtf im confused) and is makatos sister? WTF… I thought that wasnt true?

If you don’t mind getting Japanese ones together with their games aerialgroove, you know where I’d go.:wonder:

Nice. Thanks Freak on Board.:china:

I don’t remember if you showed me anything about Roxy; they’re not in FF2, just FF1. AAC doesn’t mention Roxy at all; FF1’s not a head-to-head fighting game.

The card info should be taken to heart about as much as plenty of SF info on Wiki or any Capcom USA sources released thus far.

Right, sorry for the confusion, I meant FF1 Super Famicom guide book.
http://fightingstreet.com/folders/things2buyfolder/books/guidebooks/japaneseguidebooks/ff_guidebooks/ff_guidebooks.html

I just need the manuals, no games.

Why would the FF2 booklet say anything about Roxy when she’s not in the game? She also doesn’t appear in AAC because she has never appeared in any fighting game, not even as a cameo, unlike Poison.

And sano, yes, that CFJ site has the quotes for every character vs. P=yron and Shin Gouki. Yay, now I don’t have to bend up my book to scan it.

Cool man!

vasili10 - Can we do a ‘micro’ update just to finish up Ryu and Chun-Li’s quotes? Just -

Ryu to Pyron

Ryu to Shin Gouki

Chun-Li to Pyron

Chun-Li to Shin Gouki

Oh and what’s the name of the website since I’d like to credit it, along with Freak on Board and Ultima for pointing all of this out if that’s okay with them.

Thanks all! I feel like it’s X-Mas or something.

In the meantime I will be working on a faq for Kenichi, nothing major just how to play the game if you can’t read Japanese, info taken from all of the people who have helped me with that throughout the year. Should be up at Gamefaqs in a few days if they accept it as a faq since it won’t have that much info, no combos or game strats or stuff like that… well we’ll see what happens…

Oh I suppose we can.

The site’s called Game Store Max. Ugh, yet another site with 3S quotes but no
2I.:bluu:

For those who care, I managed to find the URL to [Dark] Lancer’s old arcade page:

http://home.pacific.net.sg/~lancer

It doesn’t exist any more, but you can find it on archive.org. Doesn’t seem like much though - I tried finding the old game sections where I first found out about what Gill was really up to, but I wasn’t able to find it. Maybe someone else will have better luck.

Thanks man! No rush as always, take your time.

Yeah that sucks about no 2I quotes…

I wrote before:

2I win quotes (Only 5 characters had been done though.)

I remember that one. Now to discover someplace with Hugo’s and Urien’s especially. Thanks Freak on Board.

If any of you have this book, could you either scan in pages with Necro, or just show me some sample pages? I want to know if there is alot of rare art and sketches in it.
http://www.dmd-sales.com/artbooks/4885544734.htm

I want to know what’s in the book before I get it, The Japanese Street Fighter 15th book I got was disappointing.

There really isn’t any Necro art in there that’s not available on the net, games or other so it’s not even worth the trouble of scanning any of it.

Any rare Necro sketches and info in the all about capcom fighting games 1987-2000 book?

Nope.
