Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

It’s more her midsection, Rose is the one with her hand in Bison’s chest, and you can see blood on her hand, too. And in the picture at the end with Guy holding her body, she has her arm draped over the area, so it can’t really be seen. (uncensored pic)

Where does all of this stuff about Rose getting her powers Bison splitting his personality? I don’t remember it being mentioned anywhere but here and in the plot guide.

My concept of the two of them, especially as it relates to A3, was more along the line of them being soulmates- except, you know, the opposite.

It seems like something that was retconned, to me. Rose doesn’t seem to know who Bison is in the SFZ1 accounts you just posted. She was warned about the somewhat incomplete nature of Soul Power, has a nightmare about supreme evil, wakes up, senses it, and sees Bison, and decides he needs a GGPO. It seems like if he was always her master, it would have been more expressly stated.

The A3 story is that Bison is the one who taught her. Though if you wanted to find a somewhat stretchy middle ground, you could say that they were both students under the same master, with Bison being the star pupil. However, this is contradicted by both Z1 (Rose doesn’t know Bison) and Z3 (no mention of her true master).

Is Bison having taught Rose an A3-only thing, or do you remember any mention of it in Zero 2? It’s nowhere in the English version, AFAIK.

I always thought it was funny how Bison and Rose could never really kill each-other. I started thinking that maybe their powers countered one another’s. Like Havoc and Cyclops in comic books, though not to the same degree. Being that it’s been stated how similar their power is, it sorta makes sense. But that’s never really stated anywhere AFAIK.

After reading the account though, I begin to wonder- is Soul Power capable of killing people at all? You would have to ignore either A1 or A3 for this to be true, but is that the implication from her master? Or was he simply saying that she couldn’t use it to beat Bison?

“Can you see who truly…eternal doom!”: totally rewritten lines. No granted, no YOU but instead “your form” or “your appearance”, no victorious, no world of eternal doom.

Next part, no belong, he just says “we return or come back”. Wish can also be desire. Their wish was to face each other once more, Vega for his escape into her body, Rose because fate dictated that she could not leave Vega roaming free. Or possibly when Vega says to Rose “as we desired”, he could also mean his former soul’s desire, since she has Vega within her as well.

“Two separate lives share the same…soul…” : another total rewrite.

Yeah it’s her midsection, still a nasty gash. And if I look closely at Guy’s shot holding her, right where her left arm is draped, it looks like her gash area has darker bloodly hue than the rest of her uniform, might be the light though. I noticed she has blood from her right hand from when she pierced through Vega. Come to think of it, you can’t see her left hand in that shot. Do you suppose she stabbed Vega, he grabbed her right and pulled it out of him, then took her left and made her knife herself?

Rose getting her powers comes from Zero’s World vol. 2 found in Gamest and AASFZ. It’s in Zero 3 and AAC that you piece together Vega’s soul having split, or rather emptied of its capacity for goodness.

What’s a GGPO?

They were both students under the same master, but Rose can’t easily distinguish whether her “master’s” words were Vega’s words or Vega’s master’s words, because she owes her knowledge of soul power and of everything Vega used to be to Vega shedding whatever goodness remained in his soul. There isn’t necessarily a contradiction in either game for that.

There isn’t anything anywhere about Vega having taught her. Rose didn’t actually study soul power under someone, she all of the sudden knew everything about it including remembering Vega studying it for several years under his late master.

I feel that soul power can kill as well as psycho power. Her master’s words say it cannot be used to conquer. Remember that soul power comes from a just heart, with enough power it can be used justifyingly to annihilate evil. Vega just continues getting too strong even for Rose to handle by Zero 3, and with the psycho drive he can keep reviving.

Isn’t it possible to get an interview with Capcom’s game makers and just ask em? Like knock knock I came all the way to Japan, wanna answer some questions? They were raised to be polite, they’ll just have to say yes. I know it sounds naive but this sort of modality often works. I know what I’ll do whenever I get to Japan but that’s not going to be soon.

It’d be nice to be able to do that. Walk up to the front door of their headquarters and ask about the current seishi (authentic history) of Street Fighter. Despite most people being gone from Capcom that would know, there must be at least someone who’s had the storyline passed down so that Cammy’s Z2 story for instance was formulated. And maybe that someone would even be gracious enough to show her sketches for us poor misunderstood gaijin fans. Yeah it’d be nice.

Why not asking those who left? I bet they’re bored, sitting at home playing their own games and nobody cares about them. Then suddenly some young twerps come along and show interest for their work and listen to their stories. The way Capcom handels SF related things, they probably won’t mind to tell one, I doubt that they get sued or something if they talk too much. The SF storyline is just a thing of the past for Capcom, they’re concentrating on new games and characters, they probably won’t mind. Or we just kidnap Akiman, beat the crap out of him, ask him what Bengus looks like and if he’s from Mars or a ninja and go home with all sorts of super nerdy secret SF information after dropping him off at the next hospital having gotten every piece of clothing autographed of course.

If you actually do go, see if they know what are the names of those two guys in Necro’s stage. I tried to see if udon could some get a hold of nishimura kinu to ask her, but they said they couldn’t.

And Edayan, ask who Edayan is also.

Eeek. If Udon can’t, then I sure don’t stand a chance.

There you go, I always said his name is Rolent, when you pick him in SFZ2 it clearly says “Rolent”. This should be in the plot guide. It shows that he’s not Italian or anything, he has an english first name and a German second name, like Jack Krauser.

Well, I think we can all agree that anything involving Ingrid wasn’t exactly taken in mind when they first made any aspect of any part of Street Fighter 2 :stuck_out_tongue:

(after all, it’s not like she was originally intended to be a Street Fighter character when she was first created)

None of us ever said there was any reason obligating Capcom to make Ingrid make sense. We’re just speculating whether or not Capcom themselves felt like making Ingrid make sense or not, voluntarily (IE, just how much what we know about SF and Ingrid contradicts things and how much she doesn’t)

Sometimes things in some SF games jive with things in others, and sometimes they don’t (but it’s usually the former, “all games are in their own individual universes” or not). Just trying to guestimate which one Ingrid may be, if applicable at all in the first place.

Er, this IS in the plot guide (unless I editted it out somewhere along the line, which I don’t think I did). In Saiki’s pronounciation page, it says that the O is silent, and it says that Rolento’s name was translated as Rolent in Final Fight 2. Thus it can probably be concluded that Rolent and Rolento are the same thing and only comes up as one or the other due to the nuances of how you’d like to translate it to various languages. Unless you meant the plot guide should highlight that his name is Rolent in SFZ2 as well (is it?). Which I guess I could add, if only as another of many brief footnotes. Seems a bit redundant, though.

I suppose I could technically go farther and conceivably put “ROLENTO (ROLENT in Japan)” for his official name, but I’ve come to the conclusion after the Chun-Li Chunli and Fei Long Feilong fiascos that such nitpicks to that extreme are silly.

Hey no problem maang!

Heck, I’m glad that I’ve been too busy to update the faq because now I have so much more Ingrid information to toss in there!

So are you eventually going to translate Ingrid’s Japanese SFZ3 ending? It would be nice to have that in the faq too. No rush of course, the other Zero stuff you are working on is more important.

GGPO stands for Good Game, Peace Out. Wow, I feel useful.

No need for that if it’s in there already. Just came to my mind that sometimes people think he’s (part) Italian because that’s his stage in FF2 and the name sounds more Italian than German or English.

When you pick him in Z2 or Z3 it says Rolento. Check’em again aerialgroove.

Cool, thanks for explaining that for me sano.

Eventually I will, after-3S-new-face-interviews type of eventually, and if he or anyone else won’t by then.

Sorry to go off-topic here, but does anyone have any Street Fighter III gamest Mook scans?

Do you mean it READS Rolento or it SAYS Rolento because I mean says.

Ok I see what you meant before. The announcer does say “Rolent” but the text reads as Rolento. My bad aerialgroove.

Hey dorkie, I don’t really have any high quality ones since I have no scanner. I can only offer screenshots I’ve collected from old auctions. Want those? If so I’ll pass’em along to sano.

Ok, Thanks!

Oh. I was wondering myself if it was spelled “Rolent” or just pronounced that way. Yea, that would be because that’s how it’s supposed to be pronounced according to Saiki, then.

I have an (off-topic) question, but I don’t know where else to ask it… Anyway, I was reading the pre-battle quotes of SNK Vs Capcom: Chaos and noticed that Demitri told Kasumi (from AoF) that he doesn’t drink male blood, after she asked him about her father. Is that mentioned anywhere else or is it just something that SNK made up?

Well he did absorb Pyron’s enrgy that way, through a bite as far as I can tell.

It may just be a pun because after Vampire Savior he got the Midnight Bliss move where he transforms victims into women before drinking their blood, and he does this in SVC Chaos too. Except when he does that other super where he bites his victims a bunch of times.
