FistsofFury: Don’t know what Ken’s father’s first name is; I don’t believe it’s ever been revealed officially. Relatively speaking, the family in canon didn’t have the name Masters until SFZ2.
TS: Not 100% sure on this since I’m relying on my ears mostly, but Ryu might be saying in MSHvsSF: “I…go where the strong ones are gathered!” after he wins a bout.
Fei Long was now known by the public as a ‘genius action star’. While he had finally obtained what he had been working so hard for all these years, his contentment was short-lived. He wanted more, but he wasn’t sure what it was. Is this what he had trained vigorously day after day for? He wondered if this was really what he truely desired all this time and how his martial arts prowess stacked up against that of martial-artists worldwide.
??? ???
Around this time, Fei Long received an invitation to an illegal martial arts competition(tan literally translates it to ‘rally’, while Babelfish translates it to ‘conference’) called the “World Fighting Championship”. He had heard rumors of this event only a week before. Fei Long decides to participate in the contest in order to test his fighting skills and improve his onscreen performance.
??? ??? ???
As he wins and advances in the competition, Fei Long finds out that the tournament is in fact a trap laid by M. Bison. As a result Fei Long lends his power to the annihilation of Shadaloo, together with other street fighters who were taking part in the tournament.
Afterwards, Fei Long left the movie industry to pioneer a new Kung Fu style known as the ‘Flight of Heaven’. He started by opening one school and accepted many students. As the style grew in popularity, several more schools were established all over the world.
Well I think he does, otherwise he wouldn’t draw two different characters exactly the same except for the gimmicks and skin color. Compare the faces of his CVS2 art and you will see what I mean.
Well, he could still use photo reference on the PC I guess, but I just think he makes everyone look the same. Maybe, we could ask someone to ask Shinkiro at the San Diego Con?
EDIT: Yeah, I’m posting the question on Zamuel’s thread over at the comic’s section.
Below is the name of the first movie Fei Long starred(played the leading role) in. The tan translator didn’t translate it well, so I was wondering what it translates to in English.
???
Ya think you could help me out, vasili10? Thanx. Also, do you know if this movie is mentioned in AAC? If so, is it based on his experiences during SFA3 or SF2? Thanx again!
EDIT - Nevermind. I’m an idiot. It had to have been based his experiences during SFA3, since he had decided to quit acting by the end of SF2.
The movie roughly translates to “Street Supreme King”; it’s found in Fei Long’s SFZ3 ending, which naturally is recorded in AAC.
Here are the other lines you left up above, top first:
Having yearned to become a movie star, it didn’t mean that he was dissatisfied with being able to express his inflated ego to be able to act in movies.
The night that the movie cracked up, abstaining from a launched party, he made an appearance for what was a bout taking place at the Tiger Balm Garden, a tournament organized in Hong Kong, he decided to participate in the next Asian Games.
Sweet. Thanks. ‘Tiger Balm Garden’ is where his SSF2T stage is located. Apparently, it’s a real place in Hong Kong. ‘Street Supreme King’ is a horrible movie title. Hell, it’s a horrible title period. Babelfish translated the movie’s title to ‘Street Supremacy King’, but I figured it was a mistranslation 'cuz it sounded so stupid. I guess the award he received in his SFA3 ending was for his performance in ‘Street Supreme King’.
In Japanese, “Gaito Haoh” doesn’t sound so bad or corny, but it doesn’t do well literally when going to English, so Capcom turned it into simply “Street Fighter” for SFA3 in Fei Long’s ending.
Another case is Double Dragon; if you read the kanji at the title screen, it can say roughly “Twin Eradicating Dragons”.
When you beat the game with a particular character you’re treated to a relatively new piece of artwork for that character and among the things I’ve noted thus far…
-Ryu vs. a Birdie-looking guy.
-Chunli (in her carefree youn girl ending) lets down her hair
and again in Zangief’s ending he’s modeling in front of the mirror but there’s a picture of a woman taped to the mirror.
Yup. In the old Gamest of SSFII you can find very detailed high quality drawings of those images. I don’t thinkt hey were in any version of SSFII but they have used them later as endings for SSFIIX or Gamest just happened to get them before SSFIIX came out.
Damn, and I didn’t even notice it, let me go back and edit it.
Tiamat when will you release the next version of the Plot Guide?
I have official scans of every character from Muscle Bomber, Final Fight and so on, as well as all the artwork and the covers of the books spoken about in the Plot Guide, we could illustrate it.
Is it common in Japan for Sumo wrestlers to have such a face paint as E. Honda? There’s a guy named “Kabuki” in an old arm restling arcade game and he has the same. Is it just a Honda rip-off? http://fightingstreet.com/pics/temp/various/kabuki.gif
Didn’t E.Honda put the face paint on because he abandoned the way of Sumo, found it’s moves too limiting and created his own Sumo style with 100 hand slaps and such? I believe that was the explanation offered by Masaomi Kanzaki’s SF2 Manga anyway.
