Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Ok here is Dee Jay’s story from the 15th a. book:

The pic of Dee Jay reminds me of One Piece somehow.
Anyway here’s Twelve’s and Hugo’s(/Andore’s?) story:

Blanka’s story

By the way the 15th a. book has all SSFIIX Revival portraits (except for Shin Gouki which is the same as Gouki’s only in a different color).

Soul Power is something that can be transformed from mental to physical power; if you use it correctly, you will increase your attacking power. Chi is one of the soul powers, but it is not apparent how Rose possesses it. She learned to use it from someone she calls “master”.
Rose understands how difficult it is to use power in the correct way, because power can corrupt… you will use it to rule other people. You must be very strong mentally to control power.
When Rose learns of an evil presence, she understands her destiny is to stop the disaster. Before this she was a fortune teller in Genoa, Italy, where she dealt with playing cards artistically. But now, her true destiny is about to unfold…

Same with Eternal, everyone’s is the same size, except Gouki’s is twice as big, and Ryu and Chun Li’s are both four times as big in order to fit the whole page. And that’s pretty much all there is in the Japanese version of Eternal for Revival.

Thanks again for the stories, aerialgroove. It’s weird, some like Dee Jay’s are almost word for word with Eternal, and others like Blanka’s aren’t quite the same but I find similar and even identical phrases within. So I’m concluding that both books say more or less the same thing about each character given. I thought looking at a blurry scan of Nash’s from an auction seemed it was pretty different, but I guess you can’t judge it just from the start or just the end. Makes sense since the both books were published around the same time for the same purpose. So I won’t ask for any more, if you want to scan any others you’re curious about, it’s up to you. Thanks again, and sorry for making you use your scanner ; it’s the analyst in me, must always confirm confirm confirm!

After the review on English Eternal is made, if I must I’ll translate from the Japanese version if the need arises from discrepancies found, and assume the same is told in the 15th Anniversary book.

The soul power info above is another excerpt from the SFA Guide I assume.

Yes it’s from the same guide, what does the story box say about Hugo?

Story

A hailing-from-Germany pro wrestler, originally a member of “Mad Gear.” Pro wresling learned by observation to be the ultimate fighter but Hugo has an invincible record. Next aim, the CWA tag champion. However, with his partner lost through a rival’s plot, together with manager Poison he journeys out to various areas. He searches a suitable partner for himself…

Hm, who was his partner anyway? Why would they mention him being a Mad Gear member for the first time, if he’s not Andore?

Here’s one for Tiamat. They called Juli “Juri”. By now I’m sure that Urien was a mistake.

Heh, I found something funny by Shoei in the book, I’ll scan it later.

Slight edit on Hugo above; I thought that was a bit weird that it said 1.8 liters. Beats me who his partner was, and actually (double-checked Eternal for this) Eternal, not in the story box but a set of text up above, also says he was a Mad Gear member, and AAC said no such thing. Also, the “Juri” mistake is in Eternal as well. Who knows? Maybe that’s how they’ll spell her name in English should she appear in another game.

I’m convinced that Hugo is an Andore and a former Mad Gear member. Isn’t it obvious by now? I’d like to see any of those stories translated when/if you get the chance, vasili10. No rush, tho.

Think I’ll do previous stuff first. After almost saying “wait, Eternal doesn’t have that about Hugo!” then finding it elsewhere but still close to the story box, I’ll make a semi-safe assumption that Eternal has more storyline info than the 15th Anniversary book (but still some unique artwork), and I’ll hold off at least until I’ve reviewed Udon’s translations. I figure that space considerations enabled the smaller book to include what was deemed the most important points of each character’s story, summarizing what Eternal contains, hence the sentence differences I first noticed with similar or even identical phrases within.

So next up, CFJ bios. Laters folks!

Hey, vasili10 could you translate Rolento’s story? Does it say anything about Hollywood or El Gado? Thank you very much!

Okay, once I finish up with CFJ. I don’t initially see Hollywood or El Gado’s names anywhere inside, though. You’re welcome!

Cool! Can’t wait for the CFJ stuff. But take your time, no rush.

From the Plot Guide, Bratken’s bio from FF3:

“Bratken is a psychotic over-grown boy who loves to play with toys. To have Bratken join the gang, some gang members bribed him by locking him in a room filled with toys.”

Funny, reminds me of Hugo’s stage in SF3 Third Strike where he fights in a room filled with oversized toys.

That’s it from sano, captain of the obvious…

I thought that guy was from FF2 not FF3.

The plot guide says FF3. I never played FF2 or FF3 myself.

sano, the plot guide says Final Fight 2, and I double-checked his existence there with Nintendo Power’s review of the game.

Oops. Must a got confused with Caine’s bio underneath.

Does anybody know or have a good educated guess on what cities the participants of Street Fighter one would fight?
