Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Once Gou left Sagat with only one eye at the fighting tournament, he suffered massive internal injuries (internals rupturing, torn up good for taking away Sagat’s eye) which ultimately led to his later death.

Terrific! Thanx a lot. Now I can translate the rest of Sodom’s bio. Sorry for giving you such a large paragraph to translate, but the tan translator just couldn’t comprehend it. It won’t happen again. Right now, I’m in the middle of translating Cammy bio’s. However, I’m having trouble w/ one sentence. Could you take a look at it for me? All I know is that it has to do w/ the events leading up to when Cammy was found by the B.I.S. Something about earthquakes are mentioned (shrugs). The aforementioned sentence is below.
??? ???

Wow. PWNED. kekekekeke!! Thanx.

You’re welcome. :wgrin: As best I can make out of the sentence above, it was a stormy day, and at the fortress of the B.I.S. around a portion the special operatives housings, a power outage occurred due to a landslide.

On this page in two seperate Post I described what’s going on in the latest issue of Arcadia. CFJ seems to be doing well in Japan.

Off topic - I picked up a book called Faust Summer 2004 Edition at a Japanese Bookstore yesterday. Kinu Nishimura provided a good ammount of artwork for it even if the book was mostly text. She also worked with fellow Capcom Artist Nishizawa Akiko who’s worked on a game called Net De Tennis and lots of random Capcom Art pieces, she has a very cutesy style. Anyway, on the Faust book where they are credited you can see Capcom’s name too. I’m gonna try to put scans up soon.

I knew Kinu Nishimura was working on the Manga Overking Gainer but what I found out recently was that Akiman was working with her on the project too. And I still don’t know what the hell Edayan and Bengus AKA CRMK are doing…

In the book entitled “The Magnificent World of Chun-Li” they show her from the SF2 Animated Movie where she held the New York Times paper up at Guile towards the end of the Movie and you can actually read the article and obviously it’s in English! Sadly though some of the text is blocked off by Chun-Li’s hands holding up the paper, but I’ll put down what I can. Wherever you see brackets like [this] that means that it’s stuff I’m adding so it can read better. ‘…’ will mean either the article cuts off at this point since you can only see half of the paper she’s holding up or it would just sound like to much gibberish if I put down the few words you can see, but I’ll explain along the way.

And yeah, none of this will obviously be official considering it’s source is from the Anime but it’s a good read.

JOINT U.S. MILITARY / INTERPOL OPERATION DESTROYS SHADOWLAW

By Keith G. Friedman Jr.

[TH]AILAND - A joint force [of the Un]ited States military [and In]terpol personnel [succe]sfully attacked and [des]troyed the headquarters [of] Shadowlaw, a secret [organi]zation deeply invol[ved in]the trading of il[legal weap]ons and drugs.

(Chun-Li’s fingers block out most of the next paragraph, so the third paragraph goes like this - )

In an exclusive interview this newspaper, Interpol special investigator John Hampson said that "With… ( This is where the article cuts off, but then it starts again at the top.)

…Shadowlaw, transferred the special secret research capabilities of the Nazi regime to Southeast Asia just before the end of World War II and expanded its powerbase by clandestinely manufacturing weapons for exports.

Through the use of a mainframe computer and their own dedicated communications satellite, this hi-tech organization has a simplified structure. Its leader, Vega, was almost dictatorial. While it was almost efficient, this also facilitated the destroying of the infrastructure. We are now investigating the relationship between Vega and the Nazis. In conclusion, it would be extremely difficult for a large organization… (The rest of the article is cut off. Next Article -)

The Aesthtics of the Devilistic Ideology symbolized by Vega

By James Tokairin

(From sano - The above name is an inside joke. Shinichi Tokairan was the Action Director for the SF2 Animated Movie. He also worked on SF2V later on.)

The characteristic of Shadowlaw’s crimes is the total dedication of its paramilitary followers to its Devil worship.

Shadowlaw’s leader [Ve]ga believes that true strength re[sides in] the spirit of wic[kedness.] Everything Shadowlaw does is based on the aesthetics of this Devil [wo]rship. In the cours[e of] Mankind, many dic[tators] met with the same [outcome] and fate as Veg[a and disap]peared.

The last paragraph got cut off.

from sano - Then there are two articles. One reads “Vallone Will Resist Giuliani Plan.” Former NY D.A. and mayor Gulliani (I’m not sure if he was Mayor or D.A. during this Movie) name’s mispelled here, but most of the time stuff like this is mispelled on purpose. I think Vallone’s name is spelled right, I forget who he was though. The next article reads “In Message Cuomo…” Cuomo is spelled right, he was a former NY Mayor years ago. And the Newspaper is not given a date of any sort.

Lots of interesting stuff here, especially about what happened to characters after SF2. But I’d like some confirmation, so, keep at it.

Some Capcom staff art that I managed to get around to scanning from my AASFZ3 book. One Piece fans pay attention to Birdie’s belt. And if anyone could tell me what the kanji in Rose’s location says (geocities.com/zero3_book page 1, to the left of “Italy” and the katakana), I would be eternally grateful. The katakana says “Palazzo Mistero,” which is Itallian for Mysterious Palace, if anyone was wondering.

To the left of the katakana it says “Mystery Mansion,” essentially the same as the Italian translation given.

Working on it, wishing more people had what I do and could read what I can.

@Siegfried
I’d like a confirmation as well. I’m usually never 100% sure that the stuff I post is official and I always try to let you guys know that. It’s my way of covering my ass .This is especially difficult since this particualr site seems to mix official information w/ stuff from mangas and animes. That’s why I post only the info that I’m pretty sure is official or stuff that’s believable (possibly/potentially official) and leave out the crap. Then I leave it up to vasili10 or Tiamat to make the final judgement. The only website I trust to have 100% legit info is “The Red Cyclone”.

Cammy
…it was a stormy day, and at the fortress of the B.I.S. around a portion the special operatives housings, a power outage occurred due to a landslide.
A soldier working in the area made his to way to the landslide’s location, where he came across Cammy.
Cammy was badly injured when the B.I.S. discovered her. It was expected that it would take 2 months for her to fully recover from the injuries.
Cammy was placed under Colonel Wolfman’s supervision/care. As he was looking through Cammy’s belongings, he noticed a pendant that read, “CAMM740106”. With that in mind, Wolfman named the girl “Cammy”. (I’m assuming that this was the story before the Alpha series was created)
Despite being seriously injured, Cammy fully recovered in a week, much to her doctor’s surprise.
One day, Commander W. Watson visited the Delta Red HQ in order to observe/study Cammy’s progress. With great speed, Cammy unexpectedly attacked the Commander. Fortunately Colonel Wolfman came to the Commander’s rescue and narrowly intercepted Cammy’s assault, nearly at the risk of his own life.
After observing Cammy’s extraordinary physical capabilities, army executives showed interest in using her as their personal human weapon. Watson, troubled by the possible consequences/ramifications of that decision, decided to place Cammy’s safety in Colonel Wolfman’s hands.
Cammy’s first mission/assignment as a Delta Red member was to arrest the leader of Shadaloo. Delta Red was told that Shadaloo was a small, weak and undeveloped crime organization. In actuality, England’s information Bureau very little information on Shadaloo’s condition/status.
Her (Cammy’s) spirit unstable due to her one-time Shadoloo brainwashing sessions, Delta Red’s missions provided a comeback for herself.
Cammy began remembering that M. Bison was somehow connected to her past while participating in the SF2 tournament.

The paragraph below decribes what took place in between the explosion of the Shadaloo base in SFA3 and Cammy arriving on the doorsteps of the England Information Bureau. This is either or official or just the webmaster’s way of explaining how Cammy ended up on the doorsteps of the England Information Bureau:
Apparently, Vega (spaniard) briefly safeguarded Cammy immediately after the Shadaloo base exploded during SFA3. Afterwards, a mentally unstable Cammy aimlessly wandered all over the world, with little memory of the events that previously took place. She was taken into Interpol custody for a brief period to escape Shadaloo, who had been pursuing her for some time. Unfortunately, Cammy was eventually recaptured, brainwashed, and began working for Shadaloo again.
As it turns out, the landslide disaster was part of Shadaloo’s plan to plant Cammy into the British Empire. Obviously, Cammy losing her memory and forgetting her mission/objective wasn’t part of M. Bison’s plan.

Cody
Cody lived peacefully with Jessica for a brief period after the events of FF1. He enjoyed going on dates and traveling with her, but he quickly got sick of living a calm life. He soon began releasing his frustration by participating in street fights.
According to the website, Jessica and Cody simply broke off their engagement. It doesnt say anything about Jessica disappearing.
Cody has broken out of prison more than once, but he would usually return. Sometimes he was gone for several weeks.

EDIT:
@vasili10
Thanks.

Sean
At first, Ken declined when Sean volunteered to be his pupil. However, Sean didn’t give up and continued pursuing/hassling Ken until he agreed. With that, Sean moved in with Ken and began attending high school in America.
While living in Brazil, Sean was both playing on his schools soccer team and learning jujutsu from his grandfather.
When he isnt enduring Kens daily harsh training regimens, Sean is responsible for mowing Kens lawn (which takes 3 days to finish).

M. Bison (dictator)
Ever since he murdered his master, he became a merciless killer. The hatred building up within him strengthened his Psycho Power.
He was on the run from the cops for a short period. Naturally, the police knew of such arrangements but, with the situation with the neighboring nation escalating to a state of war, it wasn’t possible to capture Vega. I guess it diverted law’s attention and prevented Vega from getting caught/arrested. Using this to his advantage, Vega went in hiding. When he resurfaced, he was a powerful crime boss.
In search of more power, Vega began gathering/assembling strong street fighters from all over the world in order to strengthen/support/reinforce Shadaloo and his Psycho Power. He used the SF2 tourmanent as a means to do this. Holding fighting tournaments to collect fighting styles of all manner, Shadoloo’s members unwillingly, give in to human testing for the sake of Shadoloo’s mostly forced applications, to become the strongest among all fighting opponents (mostly dead fighting opponents) for Vega of the Big Four is the case.
Bison’s bio mentions that it was mainly Guile and Chun-Li who were responsible for the destruction of M. Bison and Shadaloo in SF2. It also suggests that Guile and Chun-Li might’ve worked together during SF2, but so do anime and tons of mangas. It’s not like that’s anything new.

Dan
Dan’s bio mentions that no matter how many times Sagat knocked him down, his hatred towards Sagat and desire for revenge gave him the strength to continue fighting.
Anew with repeated challenges to Sagat, with participation at fighting tournaments, with an infiltrated investigation of this other fighting style, Sakura placing its methods on appearance, Saikyo Ryu’s degree of acknowledgement leaves much to be desired.

Retsu
His bio says that he was excommunicated for fighting too much. A lot of websites say this, FYI. He seems similar to Cody in the sense that he’s addicted to fighting.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Retsu trained in the Shaolin Temple. This is kinda’ odd, considering that Shorinji Kempo is a Japanese martial that is only derived from the Chinese Shaolin martial arts. I suppose Capcom got a little confused.

Vega (mask)
He’s known as the “young noble of the mask” in the underground fighting circuit.
His bio states that that he still challenges and fights those that he deems imperfect.
His mother was born into a distinguished family. She was a very famous member of society. She married Vega’s father (who was also rich and famous) as an obligation to her family. As a result, she develeoped an unusual attachment to beauty, which would eventually be inherited by Vega. However, Vega seemed to develop a greater attachment to beauty than his mother.
He enjoyed going hunting as a boy. However, he soon lost interest in hunting because it wasn’t much of a challenge. He was eventually introduced to combative sports. He enjoyed it because the prey fought back and showed resistance. He soon traded in his hunting rifle for a claw.
For Vega, occasionally beauty loses to M. Bison’s strength, and at any time he may accumulate fangs toward M. Bison.
Vega finds Balrog (boxer) to be very ugly and dislikes him because of it.

Alex
Alex idolized Tom as a boy. His goal was to be as strong as Tom.
Alex believed that nobody was stronger than Tom and was shocked when he learned that Gill defeated him with ease.
The gym Tom manages is located on a military base in NY.
Alex lives with Tom and Patricia.

Twelve
After every mission, he return’s to the Illumati’s research institute/lab where his injuries are repaired through cell reproduction and his memory is rewritten. Basically he’s entirely reset to the way he was before the mission.
Supposedly, he can’t die if this is done repeated on a regular basis.
His mission during Third Strike was to detain Necro and Effie, who’ve escaped from the organization.
The part in Twelve’s ending where 2 red irises appear implies that there’s a possibility that Twelve’s true self will awaken. He’ll be able develop his own personality, thoughts, and ideas if that happens. Dr. Kure isn’t aware of this.

More to come later…

Watch for HnN #18 soon minna san. Laters. :wgrin:

I’m still of the opinion that Twelve fought Necro in Third Strike, and Necro either won the fight or somehow managed to get away. Even though both of their endings can happen without these two meeting, Twelve has no other purpose in Third Strike other than encountering Necro. Well, that’s just my opinon on that.

And on Twelve developing his own personality, thoughts and ideas - :wow:

  • Even though I doubt Twelve will be in SF4 and chances are Capcom will drop the ball on this one too. :crybaby:

But yeah, even him developing his personality sounds like it’s straight from the Twelve Dolls.

Wow, was all that from GD just posted from the Red Cyclone page? Quite a mouthful.

And yea, the more that’s discovered, the more Capcom just pretty much copied and pasted the Dolls for Twelve. Well… at least (for me), the Dolls came first. :karate:

Hopefully I can get the guide updated during Christmas. School kinda took priority before then ^^;

Ah. Oops. Yea, probably risky to take that info at face value then.

Below is the link to “Lives of SF”, in case I haven’t posted it already.
http://www.geocities.co.jp/AnimeComic-Ink/8883/StreetFighter/Top.html

The good news is that the webmaster posted all his sources/references for character profiles and background information. I asked vasili10 to look at the sources and I think he said a lot of them are legit/official sources and some of them aren’t. Unfortunately, the webmaster seems to mix official information w/ unofficial information and sometimes it’s hard for me to tell them apart (while other times it’s really easy). The webmaster fails to distinguish what info is canon and what isn’t. If it’s stuff we already know (shit that’s already mentioned in the FAQ) and/or stuff that sounds like it’s from an anime/manga, then i don’t bother to post it. If it’s stuff that I’ve heard repeatedly from many websites and/or stuff that I’ve never heard before but sounds believable (meaning there’s a chance it might be canon), I’ll post it here and let vasili10 look through his books and make the final judgement. I’m usually never 100% sure if the shit is canon unless i get it from the Red Cyclone.

Slight change to the HnN #19 answer, just the first sentence, as I learned a new sumo term that reappeared for me.
http://shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1809743#post1809743

Here’s the answer to HnN #18:

Hidden at the surface with Honda…the petty rumor is secretly said- recently, in the sumo world incidents of unrest were frequently occuring.
With the training of Japanese wrestlers, the word is that things like fatigue result in sudden acts of rage. That degree in the manner of rage is rarely a terrible thing.
Investigating the factor’s circumstance, sources of narcotics are restrained, for the sake of drug selling organizations making sure of a single man dispatched. That’s right, that man is Honda, said to commence with face painting.
From successfully catching drug dealers, Honda heard of the drug selling organization’s name “Shadoloo.” However, Shadoloo’s entity a complete mystery, investigations came to a standstill. At that time, Shadoloo’s decision to hold a battle against the world was said to be in the ears of the news. With that was Honda’s turn, his attending hand would gain from this…
At that time, the true colors fearfully exposed, it is said that Edmond Honda’s name being of a racially mixed lineage, painting the face, the sober face was hidden. Then why with the face painting? That’s the case it is said of the hushed life searching for Shadoloo and for them not to realize it, and with the higher sumo principles it is said to be a justice to broaden the world with its magnificent fighting moves, he became a street fighter.
As it is understood, Honda’s facepaint is for his underway top-secret investigation (one sees what is seen then the true colors are understood of what is worn…).

Watch for #31 next time.

Art newsflash: I recently acquired the Complete File Street Fighter II among other books. This is Capcom’s book from the end of the year 1992 that included the Shadoloo map reprinted in Capcom Illustrations. It has all the unique art found to US eyes in the SF Anniversary strategy guide, and it also has both of the pics from the sticker albums, Ryu about to face whom we thought was Sagat, and Ryu with whom we thought might’ve been Ojou-san (it’s not her  ) But they both are official Capcom pics. I’ll talk about the rest of the features of the books later, and watch for a small update to the Ojou-san file.
Laters minna san… :wgrin:

Finally got the SF vs. Street Musicians Soundtrack, it rocks! On the Zangief remix there’s a lady singing lyrics to the song in English. Anyway, she says “my darling” in one of the lyrics. Even though these remixes were part of a contest and the winning DJ got his song in, between this and Zangief’s CFJ ending it’s been a good year for the “Zangief’s not Gay” crowd!

funny coincidence- Juuni means “twelve” in Japanese.

Heh, heh. That is funny!

Wow lot’s of info, wonder who the Indian girl is. Why didn’t they bring the drug aspect into Honda’s SFZ3 story?
Can somebody type “street fighter”, “final fight” and “capcom” in (hong kong) Chinese? That would be fresh. Thanks!
