Sorry. I forgot to mention that I’ll post the info from Gouki and Chun-Li’s info pages soon. I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’ve attempted to translate Sodom’s bio, but there a few lines I can’t make sense out of. According to lives of SF, some of the SF3 characters have a few physical stats.
Sean
Birthdate: 1980 (Month and day aren’t given)
Ibuki
Birthdate: 1980 (ditto)
Height: 157cm
3 sizes: ?82??57??82
Likes: ??? (the translation didn’t make sense)
Elena
Birthdate: 1980 (ditto)
3 sizes: ?83??58??88
Golden Dragon - Thanks for that, BTW. Now the G-File makes sense, I never knew what the heck it was before, thought it was some sort of pun on “Giant Attack” since that’s the game that followed the first SF3 installment or something.
Ryu training students at the dojo? Well, I guess he’s over his “I’m still learning, I can’t train others” phase he went through with Sakura. But it does help explain a bit more how he gets money to travel, that and winning Street Fights of course.
Ibuki, Sean, and Elena’s birthdates were probably devised from the fact that they’re 16 years old. …not that I recall if there was an official statement that they were 16 years old but they probably are. That’s the ‘magic age’ in Japan, after all ^_~
I remember that I brought up the Adon being dead topic when I saw the Adon-like character in SFIII (Elena’s stage). I think it’s possible that Gouki killed him in a fight, he might have gotten a lot better since his fight against Ryu and I don’t see any reason for Gouki to let him live. Adon won’t become an equal match for Gouki in the future but still has the skills for a short good fight, so Gouki would most likely kill him in my opinion (like he is said to have done it to many other fighters).
I agree on the Zangief ending, it doesn’t proof anything. Still the idea that there is even a small possibility that Zangief is gay was brought up by 2 or 3 people of which only one brought up a single logical reason. It was saiki who said that the Japanese stereotype of a gay man looks like Zangief. That’s all. I think that Zangief is simply a typical Russian/strong white man stereotype for the Japanese. He looks like any Circus muscle man from Russia or surrounding countries. He reminds me of the fat guy from SNK who spits green stuff. They could both be weightlifters at an old circus or something.
I’d also like to add that those little info bits from SFII don’t mean a lot. Dhalsim makes his fire with hot food? Ryu doesn’t like spiders, still he’s hangin around with Spiderman and Cyclops in the Marvel games. Zangief likes Rainbow Mika who is a beautiful young woman. I don’t remember who said it but it was on this forum that someone guessed it was a joke on Russian women, which makes sence to me.
If Zangief was gay they would just say it (no big deal for a Japanese game character) plus if it was true that Zangief is the Japanese stereotype of a gay man, it would be on every second Japanese Street Fighter fan site, but nobody ever found ANYTHING about it on any Japanese fan site and the only results on search engines are either the Plot guide or this forum or stuff based on the Plot guide or the forum. You guys made it up and now everybody else has to proof that Zangief is not gay. I don’t even see any good reasons to think that he is gay so to me it’s unnecessary to proof that he’s not. I would scratch it completely out of the Plot guide until there is any useful information on the topic or else you could throw in Ryu and Birdie and Blanka and the rest and say they’re all gay and we have to give good reasons why they are not.
I think you mean Ryu hangs with Spider-Man and Venom, not Cyclops. Him disliking spiders has been around for a long time, it even made US Sources! :wow: Spider-Man and Venom don’t really look like Spiders anyway. Now, if Man-Spider or a Spider Slayer was in MVC2, Ryu wouldn’t hang out with them, methinks.
I don’t know what’s on that CD. Let me see if Hoteiya has it.
Yeah, there’s a sequel to the Snk vs. Capcom card game, it’s Japanese only, but you can play it on any NGP. There are some guides that will take you through the game if you can’t read Japanese too. I never bothered, playing a Japanese RPG Card Game that I can’t read is where I draw the line. Part one is great though.
EDIT: Nah, Hoteiya Las Vegas doesn’t have that CD.
From the tracklist I found, there are eleven songs, themes from many different Capcom games. The ones I could make out included the themes from Rival Schools, Breath of Fire III, Rockman Battle & Chase, and a game called Choukou Senki Kikaioh which is covered in AAC. I also thought I saw Third Strike’s theme there too.
I remember TAS mentioning that, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the truth. It’s pretty obvious that Capcom has been hinting at Adon’s death at Gouki’s hands since SFA2. I guess Capcom decided not to openly state it, in case they ever wanted to bring Adon back. Plus it adds a certain mystique to it. I figured that Adon either died or mysteriously disappeared in his pursuit of Gouki/Akuma and the SnH. I thought that was the idea.
Here’s some random crap from Chun-Li’s bio in Lives of SF
The Peking Opera fascinated Chun-Li as a child. Its part of the reason why she started practicing martial arts. She began by learning Tai Chi. However, Tai Chi was much different from the gorgeous movements she remembered from Peking Opera. Soon afterwards, her father taught her Hong Quan as well as various basic exercises from then on. With that, Chun-Lis skills in Chinese martial arts improved rapidly. Chun-Li used mostly kicks when fighting. This was something she picked up from her father, who was also said to have legendary legs. Chun-Li continued to develop her kick attacks, embracing techniques from a variety of martial arts, such as capoeira, Chinese martial arts, battle karate, Tae Kwon Do, thus eventually creating her own style.
Chun-Lis father was a detective for the Hong Kong police. Hes the reason Chun-Li became a detective.
Akuma/Gouki
Goutetsu fought Gouken in order to see firsthand what his pupil had learned. Apparently the fight went on for several hours.
Shadaloo
Shadow low(???)??? ???(the translation didn’t make sense)
Shadaloo is funded by various illegal means, such as drug dealing, arms smuggling, assassination, and casino management (in secret).
Shadaloo’s HQ is called the “Golden Triangle” because it includes Burma, Laos, Thailand, and extends over China’s borders. Poppy seeds are planted in this area and it’s said that about 70% of the world’s heroin is produced there.
I went to the Golden Triangle last year. It is a point/area in the north of Thailand which marks the area of land that borders Myurma (Burma), Laos and Thailand (hence the term triangle). If you were to go north from this position you would find China. This area of Thailand is very rural and home to various tribes, many of which produce opium and other drugs such as canabis (which is apparently top-tier in that region). The government has been tring to stop this illegal production for a long time so the tribes people have been clever when planting seeds by planting a row of poppy seeds followed by a row of opium followed by a row of poppy seeds etc. This way, when government planes fly over, it seems like a normal poppy field. I hope that explains what the translation was getting at.
Here’s the answer to #17 from HnN (I need to pick up the pace, sorry for the long delays folks):
In the vicinity of the screen due right, flash-flash Blanka’s fight he photographs, what’s with him really?
Merely where a tourist, one of probably many believing Blanka is human and taking pictures, actually he is the principal mangaing person for Blanka.
He is a freelancing cameraman wandering all over the world from place. Having gone all around every area of the world, yet to become famous with the scenery and people and so on collected on film, that is why the broad man does it.
And so, one day by chance, encountering Blanka’s fight in Brazil, there the interest he waited for, frantically he continuously pushed the shutter. Blanka’s fight just over, Blanka himself the interest he waited for, immediately he talked to Blanka, throwing out various questions. The story proceeded, the airplane accident when very young, lifelong separation from both parents, jungle life, the becoming kindred to the street fight and such that cannot be known. This story striking the heart, he sympathized for Blanka, and helped out a little for his kindred, acting as managing finder for Blanka’s appearances, resolved to spread him all over the world.
For solitary Blanka a lone object for protection, an object of support appeared instantly.
But this is the persistent rumor, the story is said that he’s truly an ordinary tourist.
More coming later, and hopefully more often. Thanks for reading minna san.
Shadoloo (shadow rule), name derived as it’s the iron fist from the shadows, (the invisible puppet master if you will). Beginning with or including the American military forces, whole nations financially bow to the voice of Shadoloo’s chief. (Vega naturally)
Okay, I keep seeing on different forums that Ryu’s winning Shoryuken on Sagat was a cheap shot. I know he was using the Killing Intent when he hit Sagat but was it cheap. I’ve herad that Sagat hand was out trying to help Ryu up. I alos herad that he was just walking up to Ryu. Let me know which one is true and where the picture or info is. The REAL info not just opinion. Holla!!!
Speaking of which, in what book is it stated that Sagat was attempting to help Ryu up when Ryu hit him with the SRK??
That can’t be good. I guess there’s a possibility that the Golden Triangle things isn’t official. Me so sorry.

I dunno what to say, besides thanks for everything!
The side effects of the Murderous Hadou include increased physical strength and being able to perform moves/techniques that surpass the user’s intelligence (What that means, I don’t know. I guess It might mean that SnH allows the user to perform moves that they didn’t originally know). Below is the japanese text:
??? ??? ???
Substantial emotional strength is necessary in order to control the SnH.
EDIT:
Sagat
According The Red Cyclone, Sagat was undefeated before he loss to Ryu.
The sentence below has to do with Go’s death (or what exactly caused his death, more specifically). It says something about Go’s internal organs exploding. I don’t underdstand it completely.
???
Btw, is it official that Sagat didn’t fight Ryu during SFA1/SFA2? I ask this 'cuz it looks like Sagat begins realizing that the power of hatred is limited as a result of his SFA2 ending.
Here’s the gist from what I could make out of this:
As Guy and Sodom’s fight comes to a close, Guy remarks that Sodom’s view of Japan is quite misunderstood, and to focus on rethinking it. Sodom feels disgraced that Guy told him such things, and hates Guy henceforth. Contemplating going off somewhere and disappearing for the sake of his wounded pride, Sodom was determined to acquire the proper view of what “Japanism” should be. He happens across a bookstore with two books that interest him: Zen: the World of Humble Simplicity, and Killing in the Air Uranai (fortunetelling): the Unlucky Words. He quickly buys them and rushes home to read them through. Finished, he feels anew about Japan. He hammers down into his head the concepts of a “mabisabi (typo?) (wabisabi-humbly simple) mind” and “unlucky words,” and also polishes his “Japanism” with strengthened "Japanese martial arts."
Sodom even considered visiting a Zen temple in the Hida mountains for a while to contemplate his new-found revelations, but after a few days he shook off the idea. He was convinced now that “Japanism” isn’t about the “Bushido soul”, but instead the essential “wabisabi mind.”
I’m still working on finding the details of Sagat and Ryu’s battle closing. I don’t think I found much in AAC, so I’ll try checking the Zero accounts next. For now though, the plot guide holds as official Sagat tried to help Ryu and then got blasted, with backups as Capcom employee official statements if nothing will be revealed from texts.
