Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

familiar pic, and then some

Hey Siegfried, did you have any hand in this? goukigirl2002 in the “critque fanart thread” orginally shared it with me. I likes it.

Those two Ojou-san Sprite renditions showed up in the old Warrior’s Fate Thread before it got wiped out, so they go back a bit.

The one with SFZ3 Ken, SFZ3 Chun-Li and SFIII Ryu on the cover saying 15th anniversary. The one that was all over Capcom.com and their SF15th anniversary page and shop (probably still is).

I see. That one was brought out by Capcom and Takarajima, around the same time as Eternal coming out. Anything noteworthy in there? The page with people you mentioned, if there’s text there might also be names. Send me a scan if you’d like me to check.

Other than pasting together the three images of Ojousan and adding my logo to it, not much…

Ok, so I guess you did (minus Ataru’s work). That’s pretty cool. Thanks!

I’ve been playing CFE for three straight days, it’s fun and addictive, I’d give it a 8 out of 10 but I can’t be partial since I’m a Capcom Fanboy…

But regarding Ingrid, I think she is a Goddess. When yoy face her as a Midboss she calls her opponents whipper snappers that are getting in her way, so she seems to be older than she looks, like the “Eternal Goddess” she was called in CFAS. In one of her win quotes, she remarks something like, “Oh, this is what it’s like to Giggle.” so she may be taking human form for the first time. I think Ultima already stated this, but in her ending she looks up in the sky, sees the “Eternal Goddess” Emblem she had in CFAS, and later puts her head thingies away and walks off as if she’s turning her back on the God life after beating Pyron, or no longer communicating with the powers that be.

The word “Sun” shows up a lot in her Movelists. She maybe be some sort of Sun Goddess. Was she working with Pyron, the fake Sun God person in the beginning? Or was she trying to thwart him in a battle of fake Sun God (Pyron) vs. Real Sun Goddess (Ingrid)? I think she was trying to thwart him.

When you face Ingrid as a Mid Boss, she has her own J-Pop sung in Japanese, and man, that song rules! Of course for some reason I doubt the song reveals anything even if I don’t understand it.

Nice. Is that the second time that’s happened in a Capcom fighting game, the first being Roll in MvC?

eeeh snowstorm made her as a villain in her CFAS fanfic …O_O

Question about the SFII movie, when the Shadaloo doctor and Bison are talking about Ryu and Ken’s potentials, did they slip up during the line “We do not have enough data to substantiate Ryu’s implied capabilities, either our sources have failed to obtain this information, or he is withholding his full potential.” Wasn’t that supposed to be Ken, that they are talking about? Since Ryu’s potential was already measured at the beginning of the movie, and in Ken’s match vs T-Hawk, he never cuts loose to show his own potential. So it seems like it should be Ken they are talking about, since it is him they end up selecting for the P-Project.

The translation in the American Version is a bit… unclear. What Dr. Senoh was saying in the SF2 Animated Movie was that he wasn’t sure how Ryu got such a high Rating. He wasn’t sure if his Moniter Cyborg was malfunctioning or if Ryu had not peaked his true potential yet. For example, the High Rating didn’t match all of the other stats, and for him to get such a high number all the other stats would have to match up. Which is why the Rating went up a bit abnormally when he was throwing his Hadouken, he was tapping into his potential at the time. I hope this makes sense, it’s a little tricky to explain.

Ingrid - I’m not sure if she’s good or evil, she seems to have her own agenda. When she’s a Mid Boss she taunts your characters saying something like “You whippersnappers are getting in my way.
” She’s not exactly a saint. Oh, and one of her win quotes says the punches she recieved felt like tickling. Tickling, Gigling, more baby/newborn to this world references. Not to mention, she becomes a baby in her Sabaki. Yeah, I think she’s an Eternal Sun Goddess taking human form for the first time.

And Roll’s MVC1 song is the only time I can remember a Capcom Character having their own song w/lyrics in a fighter. Also, much like CVS1 and CVS2, we get another Hip Hop Song for the New York/Metro City Stage for CFE! In CFE it’s the New York Stage but it has plenty of Final Fight references. (The Hip Hop song in CVS1 was removed for the US version because it had the lyric - “I’m Ready to Fucking Spill!” In CVS1 in the US you just hear the beat without the lyrics.)

Strangely, in the PS1 version of CVS Pro released in Europe, the song is completely uncut. (Not sure of the US tho)

Strange that, as it only got an 11+ Rating, guess the censors missed it. (It’s still cut in the DC version)

Is there any place where you can download that song? I liked the music in the stage but I have the European DC version of CvS1, always better to get the Japanese one.

Different topic:
Is there any specification in Elena’s Capoeira style or is it just “Capoeira”?

All sources I have so far (AAC, AASF3, Eternal) say she just uses Capoeira moves.

So, nothing noteworthy in the Anniversary book you got?

Here

Speaking of which, many Japanese SF-related sites list Ibuki’s fighting style as “ninjutsu and judo”.

The three sources say ninjutsu and ancient Japanese budo or bushido (another reading for the same kanji combo). “Judo” can also be read as “jujutsu,” which means a weaponless form of defense, but not quite the gentler judo we know of today as a national sport.

-I think Ibuki’s style doesn’t look like Judo but also not like JuJutsu either.

-Thanks for the CvS1mp3 link, Xillatem! I totally forgot about that site.

No, nothing either, but I wonder if they at least decided wether it’s Angola or Regional or just gave her some Afrikan tribe fighting style and threw some Capoeira in to give it a name.

-I bought an Asian Card game, I think it’s from the guy who draws the Hong Kong comics, they look really weird sometims. For example Zangief holds up his hand and gives you the middle finger.

-So SFIV will be a Capcom USA game? I guess we’ll never hear of Sagat again.

Right, hence the books say budo/bushido. I just added the judo/jujutsu tidbit as another thing.

I don’t believe any specific tribe is mentioned, and her birthplace has only gone as specific as just “Africa.” But she definitely visualizes what Capoeira should be from what I’ve read, rhythm and dance and all.

Huh? Are you asking if I have any more requests? If so, I’d like to see the answers to 25, 29, 41, 46, and 48.

lmao. Blanka’s a hustler. Thanks, vasili10. It’s appreciated, as always! Btw, Happy Thanksgiving to y’all!!
