Seriously, I dunno. I’m not getting my hopes up thinking Dante will be in a 2D Fighter. He should be in Sammy vs. Capcom, Dante seems perfect for someone to fight against Guilty Gear characters. Who knows if this will spark people talking?
Yeah, Dante would be a perfect character for the Sammy vs. Capcom lineup. So, what’s the deal with that game? I first heard about it over a year ago (it feels like that, anyway). Is it a rumor? Is it currently in the works? Will it ever come into existence?
I asked a Sammy rep about it at the Game on NY Show. He said all that he knew was a joint effort game was put on hold due to Sammy wanting the merger with Sega to go smoothly. I have no idea if this means Sammy vs. Capcom or other, since Sammy has worked with others before like working with Kurosawa’s Company to create Seven Samurai 20XX.
It still hasn’t been canceled. The thing with Sammy is that unlike SNK and Capcom, they don’t reveal anything (and are actually good at plugging leaks, or there’s not enough interest?) until the game is just about to come out. Usually a game like that takes a year and a half to 2 years to create with Sammy redoing Capcom Sprites. And with no Guilty Gear Game slated for next year AFAIK hopefully we’ll get some news or the game in 05. Maybe Sega characters in the game too? That would rule, but who knows.
I guess we’ll just have to just wait and see. I heard somewhere (I forgot where) that Guilty Gear 3 is gonna be the last game in the series. Any truth to that??

Just be warned that that the next Guilty Gear being 3D was announced a long time ago, before GG Isuka, (but they did say GG Isuka was coming out at this time and GG Isuka wasn’t a true storyline sequel as in it has… less story than MVC2) so it’s not written in stone. They might look over at KOF Maximum Impact’s “success” and say… Uh oh…
Actually Sano,the only thing certain about this particular fighting game(the new proper Guilty Gear) is that Sammy is doing it and it will be published by its partner Sega.No surprises if it will be 2D and on the Atomiswave,just like Neo-Geo Battle Coliseum,Sammy Vs. Capcom and the new KOF,but it will be a surprise if all of them(fingers crossed)will be out next year.At least,it will more than make up for the boring year that has almost ended.Peace out.
You think this year was boring, really? KOF 00 and 01, SF2 Hyper Edition and SF3 Third Strike on PS2, Guilty Gear XX Reload and GG Isuka, SVC Chaos and coming soon CFE, KOF 02 and 03 and Samsho 5/0. Even if you don’t like all of these games, at least in the US we haven’t been blessed with this many 2D Fighters since the Dreamcast days. Well, my opinion on '04 anyways.
Most of the games you mentioned are either ports of old games or expansion games. I’m not too excited about CFJ and I’ve never been into Samurai Shodown. Perhaps I should change that, hmmmm…? '04 has been a lackluster year for 2D Fighters. Still, that’s just my opinion. What do I know? NOTHING! That’s what!!

Hey all. I just read Dan’s entry in the plot FAQ (Ihave ver 4.2, so if this has been fixed already, ignore this post). In the part about Dan being possibly related to Donovan (I don’t know why Tiamat mentioned this since there’s zero evidence of it, and they really look nothing alike aside fro the long curl in their hair), it says that “Capcom has never made an official statement of what Donovan’s last name is”, which isn’t true. His full name has been Donovan Baine pretty much ever since he was introduced, and just to be sure, AAC proves it. BUt someone correct me if I’m wrong.
Just wanted to point that out. I don’t have much else to say, except that I also got my hands on the SF american cartoon from eBay (probably the same guy that sano got his from - some guy in Brooklyn, right?). Man, I forgot how terrible this was, but isn’t all bad. The second season is reasonably watchable. And MAN, Bison (Psycho Crusher guy) has the most awesome lines in the entire show. He (almost) makes up for the sheer crappiness of the whole thing.

Yeah I got both DVD sets right when they were released. It’s like watching Turtles mixed with Street Fighter. I like the Final Fight episodes.
