The Tiger Blow exists Gameplay wise so Sagat can still remain a shoto style character. Storyline wise I believe the Tiger Blow is kind of like “training wheels” for the Tiger Uppercut. Sagat gets the Tiger Uppercut in SFZ 3 under X-ism, the SF2 style groove.
I think Gouken had to have told Ryu that Ansatsuken was originally used for killing. At least in the unofficial SFZ Anime, he tells Ryu exactly that, “Ansatsuken was originally used for killing.” - rough translation. Manga Video wrongly translates the line in English and omits the word Ansatsuken.
That painting was recently stolen from the museum. It’s still on the loose last I heard, has not been recovered. Some Comedian on some show said they would replace it with a picture of Macauley Culkin’s scream from the Home Alone Movies.
Living in the jungle will tend to make one become darker colored from the burning days, so how come Blanka’s skin altered to a green color? That reason comes from the time of a young child like a soccer ball. At the time of the airplane crash and the rearing into human society, it could not be known how many foreign enemies were living in the jungle.
However, he lived owing to his unique abilities, and adapting to the surroundings, he learned techniques to deceive the eyes of the enemy. One time he mimicked the shape of a tree, another time he imitated a moving stone, and he frequently drowned while doing fish imitations…But just doing it shows that such are his limits. The abundant green of the jungle. Unless one has a protective colored body the eyes of the foreign enemy would not be deceived. Here’s how he thought. “If the skin is made green as the plants,(those filled with chlorophyll) in that case eating them is fine!” However the child seemed to be conceived, but actually this was his amazing circumstance. Simply, true green he became not, after gathering suitable plants and leaves and softening the fluid to use to paint on his body he got covered.
With months and years rapidly passing the paint necessity became no more. It is said, that the fluid painted onto his body permeated into the skin of his body. Blanka became green colored and adjusted to the jungle. From here on, survival intellect with talking probably ought to be within reach?
Golden Dragon- can’t find any names for Elena’s family, but I wouldn’t dismiss the info yet because I don’t have all SF3 books yet, and there’s quite a few people in the pic shown in Elena’s 3S ending that aren’t noted elsewhere, so I’ll get back later on this one.
sano & everyone with Capcom Illustrations- anyone have a good summary of the art in this mook that’s not in Design Works or Eternal? Did anyone check my post about this last week?
So, that’s why his skin is green? He covered his body in clorophyll or something? Wild.
Okay, cool. Could you tell me the names of all the SF3-related official books? Thanx.
Btw, is it alright for me make more requests (seeing as how you’re almost done answering the first set)? I’d like the answers to #'s 16, 17, 18, 31, and 36. No rush. Peace.
Hai hai. Once I finish TAS’ requests I’ll get to those.
SF3-only books:
-All About SF3NG The Fighting Bible (AA series #19)
-All About SF3NG The Characters (AA Deluxe #2, released to preview SF3, pretty much overshadowed by the Fighting Bible in terms of content)
-SF3NG (Gamest mook #75)
-SF3NG Fanbook (Gamest mook #81)
-SF33S Official Guidebook (from Aspect & Capcom)
-SF33S (Gamest mook #185)
-SF33S (Gamest mook #194)
-SF33S (Gamest mook #196, possibly the last mook released before Shinseisha went bankrupt, rereleased and packaged together for the Japanese PS2 3S release I think, simply 185 & 194 in one 302-page-mook)
Capcom Illustrations or the newer edition, Capcom Early Days? Most of the artwork except for very few exceptions of Capcom Illustrations are in Early Days, and since Early Days is easier to find and I already did the difference between Illustrations and Early Days some time ago on this Thread, I’ll tell you the Artwork that’s in Early Days and not Eternal or Design Works, but I’ll be sure to talk about the Shadowloo Map Pic that’s different in Illustrations than in Eternal and I’ll send you a scan!
Oh yeah, and on what we were discussing yesterday, with Ryu and Ken’s style called ‘Ansatsuken’ which would translate to Assasin’s Fist, they kind of would had to of known the style was origingally used for killing so at some point, Gouken would of clarified.
I meant the older Capcom Illustrations (Gamest mook #17), same book you sent me the map pic from, thanks a lot! I remember you pointed out the differences between Design Works and Early Days a while ago.
That version of the map I’ve seen in one other place, a poster included with Street Fighter II The Complete File. Pic example down below.
Holy shit, man! So he had a base/fortress underneath the area of his SF2 stage? That looks fuckin’ sweet! Wow…I didn’t know there was an SF2 Secret File. Brilliant. Are those 4 guys monitor cyborgs in the window on the left side of the poster?
Btw, the Red Cyclone website has been updated. The update is below.
Nice update, thanks for letting me know. Not a Secret File like the ones seen at the Arcade Flyer Archive. The Complete File was a 1992 book with the Zangief as Vodka sketch among other things. Included a poster of Shadoloo and a CD with the silver covered book from Capcom. Also, the four guys are referred to as Shadoloo operatives, cyborg or otherwise, so maybe.
Golden Dragon - The images in that picture appear without text in SF Eternal so when the book comes out in English you’ll be able to get your hands on it.
By tommorow I’ll Post any other Images I have. But for now, here’s older Sakura as she appears in the Sakura Ganbaru Manga if you haven’t seen it already.
The first time I got any info in the Plot Guide was when I contacted TiamatRoar and Saiki via E-Mails (wasn’t allowed to Post on the Net at work back then since I didn’t have a PC yet) was regarding Vega’s second birthday, on how this Magazine Article said that he was born on March 1991 which matches with the date he would of gotten recreated, but it’s a bit iffy since that’s the Date of SF1 and Capcom may have been screwing around. Anyway, here’s the Most Wanted PS2 Villains Pic from that Magazine 2 years back. You can contrast it to PSM’s top five list. US considers Gouki pure evil, Japan considers Vega pure evil. It’s very interesting. Making the cut On the Japanese Most Wanted were Liquid Snake, Wesker (Resident Evil), Heihachi, Vega and some Final Fantasy Boss. Just like PSM’s list, 2 Capcom Villains! You betta recognize!
