Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Why is Vega’s (mask) fighting style called ‘Arranged’ Ninjitsu in the Plot Guide? Even the Japanese call his fighting style “Spanish Ninjitsu”, so I don’t think it was a name Capcom USA made up. I’m just curious. Peace.

Will the American release of Eternal Challenge have a different cover than the Japanese version to differ it from the AE guide?

Yes. The US Cover is the Shinkiro Picture that appears as a Mat for sale in SF Eternal. Off memory, the drawing has Ryu, Chun-Li, Alex, Vega, Cammy and Guile.

Did you know that Zangief was originally planned to have an anchor on his arm? You can see it on two official images.

Uh-huh and his name was originally planned to be Vodka Gobalsky.

Vodka and Geronimo.

Here’s an earlier concept sketch of Zangief w/ the anchor tattoo on his arm:

I’m pretty sure someone posted this link before a while ago, but I’ll post it again in case somebody missed it.

Yeah I got those too. What are the two girls in M. Bison’s (boxer) SFII stage and SSFII ending called?

Don’t know, not sure if they ever had names, or if they’re the same pair in his ending which also has been retconned by Revival.

Here’s the response to question #4 in HnN (Hadouken no Nazo). It may or may not be applicable today because Ken’s stage was changed for Revival, but anyway. Please enjoy these and all the others forthcoming because they take a lot of work to bring out.

#4

A story from scores of years ago dating back to olden days.
One night, two guys exchanged blows in a duel at the harbor. Just then it is said that at the scene, scores of the next wild horses rushed in, and merrymaking gatherings ensued.
Since then, this harbor is admitted as a Mecca for the street fight, a fixation for the local population center to unwind. Moreover in the present, the natural image of street fighting is greatly spreading nonetheless.
According to evidence, two types of fighting rolled out here. One is Biggina Course (weekly Saturday meeting, occasionally suspended due to weather) and invites others, the coffee color of extreme sports. On weekdays for salarymen and working fathers, those days they foolishly begin some “street fighter.” Overdoing it, numerous entrants pour into hospitals nowadays. The other one is the amassing semipro & pro Expato Course (throughout the year without breaks, decisive action for rainy weather). Different from the safety consideration of a mat laid out on the ground for the Biggina Course, this faction fights on the firm tiles spread throughout the surface, with the option of contacting with wooden boxes and drum cans it is said.
Ken moved to this territory, with that excellent brawling sense a record immediately arose, and now with the “harbor man” invited, it’s to be feared (the Expato Course that is).

I’m personally not so sure Ken and Vega’s new stages in SF2 Revival contradict the older ones. I think these switches were done due to time or hardware limitations, they prolly couldn’t fit in two more Backgrounds with active crowd members or something like that.

And yeah, the answer for four is great! Can’t wait to read future answers!

Interesting. I never thought of it that way for the stage changes. Hey aerialgroove, does the Revival book say anything about the stages, like any sentences close to full background screenshots or something? Here’s a summary SSF2XR stages:

Ryu: same location as in 3S but later at night.
Ken: new stage, reminds me of a place Sean might be, no people
E. Honda, Blanka, Zangief, Dhalsim: unchanged from SSF2X
Chun Li: back to her Zero 2 stage
Guile: new stage, kind of reminiscent of his Zero 3 stage, no people
Cammy, Dee Jay, T. Hawk, Fei Long: unchanged from SSF2X
Balrog, Sagat: unchanged from SSF2X
Bison: somewhat new casino stage, no girls
Vega: new stage, no people
Gouki: Ryu’s stage at sunset

Very interesting. Thanks a lot. Keep em’ coming.

I’m sure that the girls in the Las Vegas stage and the one on his SFII artwork and the one in his SSFII ending are the same two.

Is this info from the Hadoken book official or just fan fiction?

I checked the guidebook and there’s no info on anything but fighting strategy. It sucks. Is there any gamest mook or arcadia book of Revival?

I believe it’s official.

Anybody got Gamest Mook 17 (Capcom Illustrations) or a cheap copy of it?
It lists these two famous images after the SFIITurbo section started and before SSFII starts so I think they are supposed to be for SFIITurbo but then the colors and the characters are just like in SFII. I’m trying to make a complete list of artwork separated by game title and I wondered if anybody knows to which game the drawings belong:

2.http://fightingstreet.com/pics/temp/various/SFIIT02.jpg
Thanks.
ps here is what it says next to the drawings maybe it helps.

2.http://fightingstreet.com/pics/temp/various/02.gif

can you also tell me the name of the 2nd artist, it’s in brackets at the end of the text. thanks.

Confirmed from Eternal, these are both images from SF2DT aka Street Fighter II Turbo. The artist’s name is Nishimura Kinu (last name first).

Unless if later established canon overrides issues within Hadouken no Nazo, answers can be still considered fact. The book’s definitely not fan fiction, but instead the first real in-depth officially published everything plot related FAQ to SF2. It ranks among ooooold sourcebooks together with the SF pre-mooks and SFII Complete File, and the Fanbook of course.

Dude, could you post Thunder Hawk’s bio/backstory word-for-word from the SSF2 Instruction booklet when u get the chance? Thanks.
Btw, I don’t think Capcom of Japan ever stated that Cammy was British. Even her SSF2 profile listed her nationality/birthplace as unknown.

But Delta Red is British or what? Thanks vasili for the answers!

Delta Red is British, but that doesn’t mean Cammy is.

Actually AAC does give England as the birthplace/native place for Cammy during SSF2/SSF2X. I think she was meant to be a natually born girl captured and enhanced like the dolls at first, then with Zero 3 her birthplace/native place was listed as ???.

I’ll bring out some more stuff requested later today. In the meantime, sano, do you have the SFZ 4-koma manga from Shinseisha? The cover looks like the attachment. Let me know and maybe you could scan the pic if you can for everyone to see. My friend’s not always the quickest guy to ask for on-the-fly requests. LOL
