Just a quick Final Fight 3 question that may have already been dealt with. I know it was mentioned in the US instruction booklet and I think Tiamat has it on the faq, but it is said that Dean may not be completely human, alluding to the possibility of him being a cyborg or something like that.
In the official Japanese version, is there any mention of that whole robotic thing? Or is this another change made by Capcom USA?
I just played SFIII 3rd Strike and when I had a Double KO against Oro two judges showed up and suddenly Effie slithered in and she actually IS one of the judges*. Now I know everbody said that she and Yun and Yangās gfs aināt so maybe they are judges, too?
Also in Hugoās stage there is a poster that looks like the cover of the SFIII 2nd Impact secret file.
*I know that sheās not on the picture in the All About book but she is a judge at least in 3rd Strike.
Donāt know, I donāt remember having a Double KO in 3S, and I donāt have any of the three books (well four if you count the secret file) which may confirm who the judges are. Anyone else?
All About SF3NG The Fighting Bible lists all Seven of the Judges for SF3NG, so if Eiffie was a judge, sheād be an eighth judge and not in the first SF3 Game. Can someone check All About Capcom and see if sheās a Third Strike Judge or something?
And by the way, all Seven of the judges in SF3NG the Fighting Bible have seperate bios in AAC. None of them are Eiffie who has her own seperate bio in AAC so the only way Eiffie could be a judge is she would have to be an eighth judge.
Iāve never gotten the Judgment scenario in SF3 Third Strike(Arcade or Dreamcast) course I never got two Double Knockouts in Third Strike either. Iāve gotten judged plenty of times in SF3NG and SF3SI Giant Attack though. That makes me ask -
Aerialgroove - Did this occur in the Dreamcast Version of Third Strike or the Arcade Version?
Iām not sure, but I think Eiffie is a judge in 3rd strike.I have the japanese ver. of 3rd stike, and I think I remeber in the booklet it had a picture of Eiffie as a judge.I canāt read japanese,so I donāt know what the hell it says.I wish I could check to make sure, but Iām at work right now:bluu: so Iāll check tonight.
Yeah, I remember the US Instruction Booklet mentioned something like that. I donāt have the Japanese version, but whenever I go to japanese FF related websites that discuss Dean, they never mention the possibility of him being a cyborg. Therefore, Iām guessing it was another change made by Capcom USA.
Well yeah most of us know that picture, they are the girlfriends of Yun and Yang that I meantioned earlier. SFIII 3rd Strike is the only game of which I donāt have the Japanese Dreamcast version (so Dreamcast not Arcade) it happened on the European version which is the same as the US version except for the regional code, but the game is the same. I doubt that sheās not in the Japanese version though.
I also want to correct something, again I wrote Oro when I meant Necro, sorry for that, it happened when I had a Double KO against Necro, so she probably is his unique judge. The other two judges were usual ones (of the 7).
So maybe Yun and Yangās girlfriends show up when you have a Double KO against them? Iāll play it later and try to get a Double KO.
EDIT:
To increase the possibility of a judgement set the rounds to 1, then you only need one Double KO.
I just checked the game manual to the Japanese version of Double Impact for Dreamcast named W Impact. On the judges page the earlier mentioned picture of the three girls is shown and as ssj2shingohan said the third character next to Effie (Necroās gf) and Hoimei (Yunās gf if I can recall) is not Hoimeiās sister (which would be Yangās gf) but Pat. I said it were the two gfs of the Dragon Twins, that was a mistake.
For those who donāt know, Pat is the daughter of Tom who is the trainer and friend of Alex.
Now my guess is that Effie, Pat and Hoimei show up as judges if you have a Double KO against Necro, Alex and Yun. Not sure if Yang has his own judge or has Hoimei too or just the usual ones. Iām now trying to proove the therory.
Oh and that would mean that they where judges in 2nd Impact, maybe even in NG already not only in 3rd Strike.
Iāll take your word for it, but that would still make Eiffie a Bonus Judge only for Necro and anyone that lists Eiffie as a Judge needs to stress that.
And hey, how partial is Eiffie? Do you remember if she held up a sign for Necro or the other opponent? Storyline wise Eiffie doesnāt strike me as someone who would be fair and would aways hold up a sign for her boyfriend. Course, sometimes storyline clashes with Game scenarios.
Good question! First a judge showed up in the background (first the shadow then the whole judge in colors) then the second just like the first and suddenly Effie jumps in from the left side of the screen and while the left judge voted for Necro the right one chose me (Ryu). Then Effie, to my surprise, chose Ryu, too. So I won. Otherwise it would be kind of unfair since the three characters with their personal judges (still not sure about that but at least Necro has one) would already have one bonus vote, know what I mean?
For those of you who can read Japanese, here is a scan of the SFIII W Impact booklet: http://fightingstreet.com/pics/temp/various/judges.jpg
Yeah, someone would have to read the text for that pic to see if it says something about Effie since none of those judges pictured are Effieā¦
Interesting stuff in this monthās Issue of PSM in the US. Not only does it have swimsuit pictures of Chun-Li (Cover. Also goes on to say how Chun-Li owns Lara Croft as Video Gameās hottest female!), and the rest of the SF2/SF3 women, when it talks about SF3TS for the PS2, to my shock it says this next to a picture of SF3 Ryu.
āBy the time of Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, Ryu is a battle-hardened ansatsuken master.ā
This marks the first time Iāve seen the word āAnsatsukenā used in an American publication! Hopefully Capcom USA wonāt find out about it and make them change that to Shotokan⦠I canāt help but think that the efforts of everyone here somehow aided in the word Ansatsuken landing in PSM.
Oh, but in the Arnold Tsang drawing of the SF2/SF3 girls in swimsuits, PSM still confused Makoto with Sakuraā¦
And hey, they also have a Street Fighter 2 Cell Phone vote. Rock the vote!
Most definitely, man. I wouldāve never expected any american publication to refer to their style as Ansatsuken. Honestly, thatās pretty amazing. Itās because of everyone who participated in this thread that the word Ansatsuken is used in PSM. I had no idea the plot guide was so well-known.
When was the word āAnsatsukenā written in letters for the first time? A lot of words have been written in letters and when Capcom officially used them in letters for the first time they wrote them in a different way (ie Hadoken and Hadouken). Is it possible that it is written in a different way?
About the judge thing:
I played SFIII 3rd Strike some more and Effie appeared REGULARLY not only when you fought as or against Necro. Sheās an independent judge just like the other 7! At least in 3rd Strike she is.
No other judges than the 7 usual ones + Effie appeared. No Hoimei, no Pat.
