I spoke to Rob, the president of Cyberstorm today.
I told him we were expecting 25~30 people, and he is willing to let us use 5-6 setups for 5$ per person venue fee. He says he will try to get some VGA cables for the hdtv’s and I think we have the option of using a computer monitor as well.
He says he will be applying the guitar hero response time checks later this week and will let me know how it goes.
He says November 1st is good for him, so let me know if this is ok with you guys in Buffalo Chacha.
If I had the memory span to remember I still have an SRK account, I probably would have noticed this reply way earlier. Hahaha.
Anyway, yeah, we were all just getting some practice in. Pretty much me and everyone I was with are all from around Kendall (backwoods town up north) - so we don’t get much competition outside from ourselves. We’re really looking to get involved since SFIV and BB came out, so I’ll have to pay some attention to this thread, haha.
Anyway, I’ll be trying to get out to some of the meets when I can - still lookin’ for a job right now, so I have gas when I’m lucky. :[
Couldn’t make it again Saturday, and won’t be here next saturday because of the Battle Of the Bands tournament.
My fightstick has been acting up. The buttons work fine, its just the stick stops working. I unplugged it, replugged it in and reset it. I opened it up and the wire harness for the joystick is kind of loose. It doesn’t have the tab that the original one had to keep it on. Any ideas? Glue?
I will amp them up, be sure to pm me contact numbers, and address/number of venue.
Also hype Rochester! Last time I check Buffalo rolled like 15 deep to tournies, rochester had trouble producing 8 players in their own backyard last time i was up. Let’s remedy this.
Get hype because we are coming to send yall a message, so far grifter is the only one who impressed any of us. NEED MOAR rochester!
We have more SF4 players than BB lol. We’re scheduling a few practice nights more than usual this week to give you Buffalo guys a run for your money
I didn’t manage to get in touch with Rob this saturday concerning the VGA cables for xbox360.
If anyone in buffalo has one, that’d be awesome if they could bring em. Also, we found ourselves lacking multiple accounts that have the entire roster unlocked. We only have Grifter’s memory card which has everything and my roomate’s HDD which as everyone but seth and gouken(since no one here plays those 2). A buddy of mine is getting to work on unlocking chars on his PS3, but anyone that can supply memory cards with full unlocks would be greatly appreciated!
i obviously can’t speak for rochester but we had a nice sf4 group going before summer, when everyone went home and never returned. the rest of us switched to bb but we’re trying to work sf back in to be ready.
the real concern is that you guys are supposed to come this wkd and there are apparently no arrangements for format, saves, tv lag, etc.
How many people do you have coming with you ChaCha? I think we have enough SF4 interest to make this happen. A lot of us play both SF and BB. Personally, I’m looking forward to playing against you guys and learning a bit (I’ve never been to a tournament before)
I am kinda on the wall about coming now… It seems like you have like less than 10 interested SF players, and we’d need to bring our set ups just to pay a venue fee at Cyberstorm on top of it all?
When I suggested this, I thought Rochester had a bigger SF scene. The format I envisioned was a 5v5 followed by a singles double elim tourney. Just to prep everyone involved for Rumble. But if we are gonna come up, bring stuff and pay money, only to have a few Rochester players show up, then it may not be worth it.
We can still come, and I have received your aims (I am afk an awful lot as it’s on my wife’s computer at the moment…long story). But I need some reassurances about what we can expect.
-How many Rochester players will be there?
-How much will we have to play if an individual brings a Tv+system?
those should help me determine if we are still coming.
i did some inventory and we should be able to have a fun event if people follow thru. dunno if tourneys fees are an issue to the kids in school. would we be looking at $5 teams, $5/$10 regular tourney?
based on the folks i know, we should have 2 xboxes w/unlocks and 1 ps3, all vga to hdtv. does anyone in buff use seth?
team tourney - what are rules? i’d like to see 10v10 random cross-matchups so everyone gets to play.
