the people in buff were thinking a 5v5, our 5 best vs rochester’s 5 best, but if we want everyone to participate we could make 2 5v5 teams probably? after the 5v5 event, a double elim singles tournament. just like chacha said a few posts up.
the prices are reasonable. this is more for practice for the upcoming Rumble in the Tundra 3 / friendly competition between two cities. maybe we could do something simple like losing team in the 5v5 pays for the venue fees and singles double elim tournament is 5 or 10 dollars entry.
no one in buffalo uses seth seriously.
i really want this to happen b/c i think everyone in buff is itching for new competition since some of us, especially me, are tired of playing the same people all the time and want something new! let’s hope this comes together.
edit: just btw if anyone wants to play ryu/viper player just add me. [= ryu’s my main, learning viper on the side.
Rorec, sorry for late notice but it looks like we are gonna cancel. Too many people not going and I am sick, couple with other factors this weekend, it just isn’t going to work out.
I hope to come up some time and play anyways, it just looks like it will be after rumble.
thanks for all the effort though. Look forward to playing you in 2 weeks.
I was planning on going to the Rumble, but my ride may need to cancel. Not definite, but a good chance. I don’t know anyone else in the area, but is there anyone going that will have room for one more? I’d be willing to cover part of the gas each way.
Haven’t posted in a while, a shit storm came as a big hurdle in life and also bogged down by quite a bit of school work.
Don’t really know anyone for TvC but we currently got SFIV and now Blazblue: Continuum Shift setup usually during Wednesdays at RIT’s EGS meetings from 8-11PM on the 2nd floor of the Student Center. We do meetings at other times too, but alot of times it’s just call people up and check availability thing.
How accessible is the Rochester scene to people who aren’t RIT students, anyway? I’ve never heard of EGS, but I might try and step it up in SF4 or learn BB to start playing local matches…
Is it intermediate-level player friendly, and is there any Melty? :wonder:
Hey Rochester, I know some of you guys came out to the Put Up or Shut Up Tournament in Syracuse back in August, so I wanted to let you know that we are having another tournament in Syracuse on Feb 27th. We will have Tekken 6 as it is the main scene around here, but we are also looking to host SF4, TvC, and maybe even some BB:CS (depending on who can bring set ups).
I really should try to make it to EGS. After Buffalo I’ve been busy, and doing my best hermit impersonation. This week will be bad for me, but hopefully next week I’ll have time.
EGS is just our main scouting pool I guess? haha Someitmes I host stuff at my apartment, only a few of us actually go to RIT, a bunch of us graduated from there too. But we’re open to anyone that wants to play. I’d consider most of us intermediate level. But yea come to one of the EGS meetings, find me, my name’s Shi, just ask for Shi near the fighting game setups. Let me get your number down and stuff so I can call you up for future gatherings and stuff.
As for Melty Blood, it’s mostly just Comic-Z. I play a little bit, I want to get back into it but haven’t found the time for it.
Suresh! bring your rose down sometime, it’s good and we miss it
As for the Syracuse tournament, we’ll definitely be there, Grifter told me zzy notified him a few days ago, and I think tentatively we have 2 full sedans going.
Shi, unless anything comes up I’ll probably be able to come down starting next week. I’ll call next week to see if you or Ed are able to give me a lift. Tho my Rose is pretty damn rusty because of BioWare. First Dragon Age. Now Mass Effect 2. So damn good!
I’m dying for SSIV to drop. Adon? My boy is back? Oh, fuck yeah. Rose who?
The guys running gatherings now are more supportive to newcomers than ever. If there is demand for fighter-centric meetups, we could also sync up and spend a night at Cyberstorm. Just let us know when and don’t be afraid to jump in.
I have 2 friends that want to come with me to a meeting, once we get more info (next week?) we will try to show up. We play a lot of SF4 casually, and I play just about anything. Haven’t been to Cyberstorm yet so I want to try that too.
I’m mostly hoping for a Melty player or (long shot) a Vampire Savior player.
