hey guys, my name is kyle( abel rufus player from buffalo) some of you guys already know me. i was talking to people in my crew and we are very interested in coming down to play you guys. it doesn’t have to be a tournament or anything, we’d just really like to get some casuals in against people outside of our crew.
now the place we usually would meet up and play on saturdays was at most a 40-50 min drive for some people so the drive out to rochester wouldnt be a big hassle. Seeing as now we will no longer be gaming there i think coming down to rochester is a good option. we can do it once and see how it goes and if we wanna make it like a bi weekly thing.
i already kind of talked to jess about this at seasons beatings but i’d like to get thoughts on everyone from your crew, where we would play, what we would need to bring etc. so get back to me as soon as possible and we’ll try and set something up
Oh shit, do I smell Rochester/Buffalo Ranbats?! David’s clubhouse thing would be the perfect spot for that, if the rest of you are interested. I think this will be an awesome way for us all to up our games and get to play with people out of our little circle.
It’s just like an open area building for basically whatever you want (parties, events etc). Usually house developments or apartment complexes will have them. I haven’t seen it before but we planned to use it for our own ranbats before, but ended up doing it at RIT on Wednesday. Downside is that it has a 100 dollar safety deposit (which we get back assuming no one throws a TE stick through a window).
Also Cole, You said you live on campus right? My xbl ran out and I really want to play some street fighter that isn’t practice mode so we should meet up some time and play.
Also if we make this bi-weekly, we would like to have it eventually be something where we come to you, then next time you come down to us. We have tried this before of course and it didn’t really pan out.
We currently use an open gaming area at University of Buffalo (same place the RitTs are held). So we’d like to have Rochester down for those as well.
But of course we will come to you first as we are chill like that, and I am sure Bernard misses us.
Ahh to be honest Cha Cha, it’s probably going to be hard to get the drivers to want to make the trip out even though it’s only an hour away. No one really likes to drive here. I would but I lack a motor vehicle
About how many people do you think will be coming with you? As far as I know there’s no sc4 players. I think there’s a couple Tekken players but they don’t come to our meet ups at all. Maybe like once when Tekken 6 came out.
I don’t know how often everyone else in Rochester checks this thread but I will talk to them tonight at our RIT meet up about this.
Kyle and Chacha - Wassup. This seems like a good idea. We’re pretty limited in our spots here in Rochester but we’ll try to work that out. My brother was asking if you guys got your hands on that lounge (I really don’t know what he was talking about) at the University; maybe that’s the spot you were talking about Cha Cha.
We’ll discuss this with our crew as a whole and see how it goes. I’m sure it’ll work out in both our favors. We just need to see who’s willing to bring what and set a good time and place over here in the Roc.
This is a great idea by the way.
Cha Cha - I think we have 2 or 3 Tekken players here. I don’t know if you would consider that a scene though :X
Oscar - Aww, it’s cool. We won’t bring our 3S laptop tonight then. Thanks for the heads up!
Tonight - Meeting up at the usual time and place; see you kids there ;D
Just getting caught up on posts, EGS got me thinking about SSF4 again after the shitstorm of work I had earlier this week.
Jess - I dont actually live on campus, my house is about a 25min walk from academic side. I’m from NYC, so I’m used to walking everywhere, and I also dont have a car. That being said, I’m always down for playing. If you want to do it at your place for convenience, thats good with me. It would definitely give us both more matchup experience, and execution, which I know I need badly. There’s only so much to be done in training mode after all. My number is 646-247-5086, I’m available pretty much any time.
Buffalo - This sounds like fun. I’ll happily get bodied by your crew, provided we can get a place together to do this and someone wants to take me to said location. I can provide a X360 setup, and a 19" TV (I dont believe it has much input lag).
We’d be thinking about doing this in the near future, please provide feedback from your crew about what weekend would be best out of the next few coming up.
Yep aim is CuddlyVoodoo. I’ll talk with everyone about which weekend is good. Personally I’m good any weekend. RIT’s break starts the week of November 15th so I won’t be there that weekend, but I still think there would be plenty of non-RIT folk still there.
hey! i’m from rochester and i play mvc2, ggAC and a little tekken. i’d like to start playing more with local people instead of online. i’ll check back to see if/when you guys(and/or girls) are playing.
though I’m technically a non-factor now, just a few points of curiosity… Neither Cole or Jess have cars, say you do provide the setups, how do you guys plan to get them to where they need to be?
