Wake up Rochester!

I can probably bum a ride from roommates, or Nick if I can convince him to go to wherever. Of course if anyone with a car wants to help out, that would be great =).

This sounds good. I’m very interested in this. If Buff comes down, how many people are we talking total? I don’t want to have too many if I’m gonna be the one who has to provide a spot… What about Millenium? What about an RIT lounge?

We should take over the second floor of the commons building again.

Kyle - Sorry, I have an AIM but I’m never on anymore; Skype is my new deal now  haha. If anything, talk to Jess since she seems to be the main source of communication between Rochester and Buffalo.

reactor - Sup man. Funny thing is, we’ve got people who love to play MvC2 here. It’s a really small number but all of us who do, are trying to prepare for MvC3. Do you play any Super at all? If not we can always just put up a random MvC2 setup and play that. We meet up as a whole on Wednesday Nights from 8-11pm at the RIT. You should definitely come on down!

Shi - If it’s any where near the campus than it’s an easy walk for them. But I assume that someone is willing (at LEAST someone) to pick them up just incase we meet somewhere else. Unless it’s a big load (chuckle) they need to carry.

Jess - Wong told me that, that place was a study place. That one time Shi got it was, apparently, the only time it was not occupied. Majority of the time, it’s really packed with kids who need to study. If you could do some reconnaissance, let’s say on the weekends (because I assume we’ll be doing this on the weekends) it would be nice though. That was a pretty good spot.

Taken from blog - Wong and I won?t be able to make the session. You see, it?s our cousins 1 month birthday-eske type of party. So it?s a must. She?s adorable and she is going to be famous one day, I?ve made that life promise. I will be coaching her of course. Harharhar.

So we won?t be showing up. If any of you guys want to get together then be my guest! Just tell me how it goes!!

Expect 5+ people from buff whenever we get to come down. If it’s a really good day, it might be closer to 10.

In case one of us wanted to crash a wednesday night fight, where is it held? Oh, and are we invited? Har.

@kitsuji - i’ve never played super but i was thinking about getting into it. are the games held in the same building gg used to be played in?

Vinh, That building is just where deaf people congregate. There are 8382 other places people study, and honestly only about 10 or so people can fit in there anyway (considering chairs). Any smart hearing person will avoid it unless they don’t mind noise lol. I can ask around and see if I can get the place where they had the smash tourney last year. Not sure if you can get it if you don’t live in dorms though.

Theli, Yeah anyone is invited to the Wednesday nights. We meet on RIT campus in the Student Alumni Union cafeteria. We have about 2 set ups of super, and 3rd strike occasionally. Its run by the campus’s gaming club.

Jess - Yeah, I was just wondering. I mean if you could find a better spot that would be nice actually. Not saying that spot was bad; it was pretty good but I’m aiming for a more “roomier” kind of area. I forgot how many people we actually held in that spot but I think it’ll suffice if we can’t find any other free spots.

reactor - Yeah, you’re more than welcome to come man. If GG was held in the SAU before then I’m sure it’s the same place. Though I remember, when GG was still big, it was outside of the big cafeteria where the icecream shop is but it’s in the big room. Still the same area I’m assuming.

Still need to sit down and talk to some people about the whole buffalo thing so I’m positive it won’t be happening this month. I’m shooting for early-mid November at the latest. Trying to at least. But so far it seems a lot of us our down for it.

The Sol Hueman Common Room on the 1st floor is rather large, and I remember any student can reserve it, go check their reservation policy.

I can go ask around if you want me to, and I live in the dorms. Plus, I can bring a PS3 and SSFIV if need be.
If this thing is still going, maybe make it a week or two before exam week/break.

In a completely random side note, Tekken 6 is missing in my room. This is…bad, haha.

Ya, if possible we should aim for the weekend of Week 8 (this weekend) or the weekend of Week 9 (next weekend obv ;P)… There’s no way we can make it the weekend (weekend of week 10 :O) before finals week. So ya, we gotta start acting fast if we want this to happen.

so uh… stuff? Any weekends panning out for a majority of players yet?

yeah let us know when you guys can get a room and a weekend for us to come down

Sup,

Oscar - Yeah, ask around for available rooms or rooms we can just snag.
Jess - You too.

Our main priority are setups and TV’s.
Who can bring a TV?
and I think we should be set on a setups but we can still talk about it to glue it in. Since PS3 is in favor, Wong and I have a PS3 we can use. I can ask Minh, if he’s down for all of this, to bring his again. Also Oscar has a PS3 setup. Jess can bring her 360 and that’ll be the only 360 setup :P. Sorry Microsoft fans.
Then that brings up the questions of sticks. We have shittons of 360 Sticks but very few PS3/dual mods.

About when we will be doing this. This weekend is no good, too soon and we’re still trying to work tons of shit out.
Let me ask you RIT kids this; who’s staying for the break? I mean if one or two people are out then we can still run all of this. But if those one or two people are our main source of setups then we’ll have to either settle with Week 9 (I’m hoping we don’t) or the week everyone comes back. So. . answer my damn question! D:<

Please and Thank you

Tonight - Same time and place, see you kids there.

Weekend after this looks like the best option (for me at least). I know I’ll be leaving for break after my finals are over.

Within the next month I plan on modding my stick for PS3, but it wont be ready by the time we do this.

any rochesterians play marvel?

not this weekend but next weekend could work, and we can bring a set up or two to help out, and we have a good amount of ps3 sticks

Nickguy - MAHVEL BABY! yeah we’ve got like 3 or 4 people who play MvC still.

Having it next week is still too soon, in my opinion of course. We still haven’t found a good place to set anything up yet. I’m not on campus ever. I haven’t been able to reach all the people who are vital; been busy with schoolwork of course. I was thinking, the week after break, when everyone gets back. It’s Week 1 and from what I’ve heard, Week 1 is “free”.

Kyle - O.K, yeah that was my only concern about setups, the sticks. If everyone (here in rochester) can push for the weekend after this then we can do it but I don’t want to push anyones luck. It’s safer to do mid November when Week 1 starts at the RIT because we have more time to think about this and to plan further ahead.

I haven’t found anybody who knows how to reserve the sol room yet, and the chance of it being open next weekend might be slim. So either we wait till week 1 or we can just steal the second floor of commons again. If we get there early enough we can take it over.

thats awesome, im a 6 month old when it comes to marvel, but im always looking for comp. ill keep checking this thread for anything good with it, i just got the mvc TE and i love it <3
