As for characters I’d recommend that meet your specifications, I say try Iori, Kula, and K’
Oh darn, I left out one of the best requirements: TOP TIER AS FUCK! Or high tier. LOL. A character that looks cool is good too. I hate playing big chars. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions, I’ll check em all out. From what I just read on the SRK wiki I like Kula, Iori, K’, and Kyo for my third char probably. Of course I haven’t looked at anyone else but I don’t care, I’ll stick to one of these first. K’ and Iori look cool, I’m probably picking one of them. Thx for halps. I like muay thai, but not in games.

Why does it seem like every stream I ever watch for kof, the tourney is won by someone either playing king, athena or both?
Also dave you realise kof is play with teams of 3 characters right?
And you know who has really good synergy with viper? Good characters

I thought Andy would be a bit higher, though. Seeing Goro that high is also a surprise, but then again I’ve seen legit ZTDs with him.

I suck ass with Leona in 2k2 but I like her in this one. On ggpo in general I just never get stuff to come out like. I’ve been jumping around different characters but the one I have best success with so far would be Kyo(I feel he can do great damage without hd meter and with super meter he is a truck)/Mai (easy neomax but midscreen combos are cr.lk into target combo haha)/Leona. I also like Beni,Daimon, and Ralf. That Ralf Vulcan Punch while moving forward is so funny against people who don’t want to sweep it.
You guys gonna go play kof13 at the monthly? I think I might go again, even though everyone plays marvel. I didn’t pick up sc5 yet but if it’s there I’m definitely playing it, since I used to play the older ones a good amount in highschool.

I’ve been practicing KoF a bit and I feel like my biggest problem with this game is the way the characters look lol

The look is what sets the characters apart, I think. I can see a tiny bit of any character’s like…leg or something, and I’ll know who it is. Not many fighters can say that they have characters that are that recognizable.
lots of poor designs in kof for sure. i loved everything about the series until around the turn of century when characters and game design got truly terrible and overly effeminate/korean, but that’s their audience. this was compounded by the redesigns going to hd. also, after the amazing interface of xi, xiii’s reminds me of an anime game.
Benimaru is pretty much inspired by Polanareff from JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure, alot of characters throughout SNK, and Capcom’s history as well are inspired by classic anime/manga characters. Takuma was inspired by Orochi Doppo from Baki The Grappler, moreso in his KOFXIII incarnation, especially is NeoMax.
KOF definitely has some characters that are better off not coming back in future games. I think everyone wants to forget Bao, and we’ll never see K9999/Tetsuo again, man he was lame. I’m all for Vanessa and Ramon making another comeback, but does Kim really need Chang and Choi now that he has Raiden and Hwa?. At least so far most of the important classics are back, all they need is to get Mary and Yamazaki with Billy. I personally want the return of the 96 Boss Team above all else, and good ol’ Rugal.
Although I’d rather see SNK get to work on Garou 2 or a new 2D Samurai Shodown at the moment than another new KOF game.

But for real I only play Beni in one of the alt colors that looks like he has a shirt. I play Leona because she obviously has some Super Sentai/Anime fetish. Though I think the biggest downgrade from the previous games is Athena, it’s like she ate Kirby in between KOF11 and 12.
