EVO/GodsGarden pushed back to Spring 2011? Fuck, I need to try to make it now. A trip to Japan would be awesome, and this would be the perfect excuse to make it out there. Spring would make it… 8 or 9 months? It would mean I probably couldn’t make it to Vegas for next EVO. Hell, probably no other major trips at all next year, but it would be worth it. If I do go then to make the time and money spent worthwhile I’ll have to spend a week in Japan.
Only thing holding me back? I need to get a new apartment. This is my plan: if I can get a new apartment, plus have enough money saved to book the flight and hotel 6 months from now? I’m gone. I emailed an old college buddie this morning to see if he’s up for the trip, and would split a room with me. Anyone else thinking of going too?

Hey Rochester, just a reminder that the Showdown at the Sheraton in Syracuse is 9/11 - 9/12. Hotel rooms are $97 if you call the number in the announcement thread. Please bump the thread if you guys are coming. There is a $300 pot bonus.
The Sheraton is guaranteeing the pot bonus if rooms get reserved. Also, if you reserve a room you have until 9/10 to cancel the room at no cost, so if things change then no worries! Hope to see you there.

Lol Gary, I will do that if I must. But srsly guys lets do both! Syracuse tourney we don’t have to stay at a hotel because its only an hour away so it won’t cost that much. And honestly I don’t think the turnout for that Syracuse tourney will be all that good. Seasons beatings is going to be so much better. Its an actual major with top players. (plus I wanna see my friends from Ohio and I have a free place to stay )
And Vinh, there will be consoles there so we’ll have to get there early to snag one before the Halo tards steal them all.
Well, I’m not getting the whole “I’m going to be playing with top players” vibe right now. Just want to play casually and get better slowly. The next Nuki needs time to relax ;D plus, Shorter distance is definitely better than long distance. I think a lot of people can agree with me on that one

Yeah I get the closer thing, I’ll do Syracuse for sure, but SB isn’t until Mid October and this is Mid September. Plenty of time to recharge and want more tourney action. So rather than chose one over the other, lets do both! Plus you know how much more amazing the big tourneys are than let’s say the Buffalo tournament. So much more excitement at majors.
Also, any connection I had to EGS is pretty much gone now. lol. But I shall fight my way for one of their tvs! Ill assert my female dominance over the random freshman. I absolutely agree about the major at such a long distance trip. I want no part of that. I’ve done my fair share of majors, and they’re fun and all but not worth the trip, hassle, time, money, in the long run (at the level of competition most of us play Super at… no offense). The Syracuse tourney sounds absolutely awesome and I’m looking forward to it.
When is ZeroFest? That’s one of the gay EGS LANparties right? A SSF4 Setup there would be nice, if not we can just have our own get together as we would normally. I’m so excited to have my apartment… Do any of you have plans on if we’re doing Ranbats or a meetup the weekend before RIT starts? I’m not sure that I’m gonna wanna host it after all :/. It’s gonna be a really busy weekend and I don’t think I can afford to have that much responsibility. I’ll probably be spending time with my new roommates. I’ll definitely attend and play though.
We’re pretty low-level as a whole, but there has been progress since last year. There isn’t that hunger for hardcore development, but most tourneys suck outside of these upstate ones (which have been very cool) so the game is best to me when hanging with friends and getting to play stupid and try stuff that will improve us long term.
How many can we round up for Syracuse? They’re been terrific and I’d like to support what they’re doing.
Then you’ve clearly never been to an Ohio regional. We’ve got one this weekend in Columbus and its going to be the shit. We had a small one last week ran by some fg noobs and it was still great. (Got second in teams because my partner carried me basically and won 3 matches in singles.) The Cleveland one was on the same level if not better than the Buffalo and Syracuse ones. Actually the guy who does SB ran that one. Not trying to change your guys’ minds, just throwing that out there lol.
I’m down for Syracuse, so +1 me.

Syracuse is probably the only one I’d like to go to; in my opinion. But I have to say that buffalo tourny’s are pretty big but meh.

I’m playing seriously that day, there’s gonna be no new faces bodying me or anyone; there better not! D:< and we don’t have any VGA cables for 360, we have them for PS3 I’m sure. But if there’s a chance that we’ll be playing on those old T.V’s and not the new ones, it wouldn’t be that big of a problem. But yeah, I liked it when Shi and Ed had their console setup going; less work on us. Hahaha. Now the heavy work is down on Wong and I again haha.
Yeah, we’re looking better, player-wise, definitely from last year. I’d have to say a lot of us improved and if we work at the pace we’re going, we’re bound to be well known somewhere other than Rochester.
Yeah would be really nice if we got our own setup so please, at all cost, rush into that room and steal a TV or a free 360 console or PS3. About Ranbats, I was hoping/thinking that we would run Ranbats like the 2nd week RIT starts back up. If anything we’ll talk about it when we meet up together once again, as a reunion. That way we can see who’s doing what and when. So it’s still up for discussion but it is definitely happening. I know you guys want to get situated again in the Roc, so I’ll leave the first week for you guys to chill and relax before we start to do anything :).
