W. Lafayette, IN Gatherings Every Tues.. RANBATS Every other Tues. First Ranbat 1/25

I’ll play whenever people show up…I was thinking like 5 or 6ish but whatever works for you guys
We have 2 PS3s (Chris’s is over here) and 3 TVs atm, I don’t think we’ll need a third setup (it would be nice though) if your set on playing XBox or something go ahead and bring it
Hope everyone can make it

i can probably make it, but maybe not until around 7 or 8. I assume you guys will still be going around then? just text me or something if you’re wrapping it up and i’m not there yet

E:

also my ps3 is apparently not working. It stays on but it won’t display anything sooo, yeah that’s a bummer.

I know Chris has work and won’t be here until ~6:30 so 7-8ish should work
With it being summer I’m thinking that later works better

and sorry to hear about your PS3 : \

actually turns out no meeting today, so i can come whenevs. Probly be over there in about an hour or two if that’s fine

GG’s guys. Nice to play in person again. Was getting sick of playing online scrubs and being an online scrub.

good shit fellas, let’s do it again some time

Hey I’m at Purdue and had read a few pages back about a fighting game club being started by someone, anyone know whatever came of that? Really would like to play some good people and step up my game

The fighting game club has indeed been started, but there hasn’t been a callout yet. In the meantime we’re holding sessions and you’ll no doubt see a post on here next time there’s gaming to be had.

E: here’s a link to the club’s page on Purdue GetInvolved

http://www.getinvolved.purdue.edu/Community?action=getOrgHome&orgID=1189

Awesome thanks for letting me know, ill try to keep a lookout for when the callouts are

So… when are you guys going to through a tournament:)

The school won’t let us throw a tournament using their resources/property if money is involved but I’d still be game for trying to organize one.

Would be a good way to get the word out.

I think the trick to that is saying something like “hosted by members of the purdue fighting game club” as opposed to “hosted by the purdue fighting game club”. Then just hold it off campus and we should be good to go.

EDIT: We going to have a fight night this weekend?

Anything that might possibly be interpreted as gambling is a no-go on campus, but off-campus we can do whatever : )

We can have it here if no one else is hosting, if the turnout is as large as last time we can try to get more then two setups going

I found out that Purdue’s DDR club reserves a bunch of classrooms in the basement of Beering Hall and uses the projectors in the classrooms to play on, I think this would work really well for PFGC so we don’t have to bring along TVs for meetings and we would have plenty of room/screens
So instead of doing the callout at Hillenbrand (which is out of the way for a lot of people), I think we should plan on doing flyers and a callout and then we can try and reserve however many classrooms we want for weekly stuff

We can work out the details next time we get together

If my roommate lets me borrow his car I can bring my setup. That way we could also play some BlazBlue or DARK AWAKE: THE KING HAS NO NAME.

I actually just bought a copy of BB:CS, still know nothing about that game but I have it
Now I need to get my PS2 modded so I can start playing MB:AA
DARK AWAKE: THE KING HAS NO NAME intrigues me, lower case letters suck

Just be aware that projectors may lag enough to be noticed. I don’t know anything about them, but it would seem resonable to me that it would lag. DDR, being a timing sensitive game, has lag compensation built into the game. That’s why you can calibrate it to both video and audio lag in the menus.

I gotta play more MB:AA… gotta get my bnb’s down.
Isn’t dark awake the other name for chaos breaker?

hey guys, my name is Steve and I use to play with Tony and Anthony awhile back, I’ve been out the scene for awhile and was hoping to get back into it. I’ve played for a bit recently and out of nowhere in between rounds of a match my joystick decides to stop working completely. All the buttons still work fine, but I can’t move at all, its a TE-S stick thats only about 4 months old. Does anyone here have any technical experience with sticks? thanks.

not an expert at all but if your buttons still work i feel like you should just have to replace the stick. Take the old one out and put in a new one. It can be purchased here if your interested. Lots of youtube videos on how to install

Make sure the little switch next to Turbo is set to LS and not DP or RS. I made that mistake and wound up posting a thread on the tech board where I looked like an idiot and got put on blast by MarkMan.

e: Fei Long is such a gratifying character to play online. I made an alt account and have just been running a clinic with him. Right now I’m 13-1.

yea right after i posted that I checked thru the forums and found your post and it fixed it right up haha I’m such a noob, guess thats what happens when u dont play for awhile. lol
