GGs tonight, defiantly should keep using that setup in the future
I defiantly learned a lot of my mistakes from playing tonight…time to practice!

I don’t know if we will have a chance when SSF4 comes out but if we do i’d like to do CvS style battles 3 characters each (2 being new characters :D)
somthing like what they did in GT forums:
each player choose 3 characters (2 being new characters)
then play 3 rounds match winner keeps his character loser choose his next character and play another 3 rounds match. once all your 3 characters get eliminated you are out.
we can do it tournament style with more than one setup and loser and winner brackets or winner stays depending on the number of people.
we can also adjust to 2 characters (1 ur choice 1 new) if the matches take too long.
why emphasize on new characters? to make the matches exciting and fresh, and learn new matchups.
I talked to Jason (my ra) and we definitely will be trying to put a big event together for the Super launch, I think a tournament in the style you just outlined would be pretty cool.

I’m not really good enough yet to get a lot of knowledge out of the winner stays setups. Mostly I am reminded I need to block better and not push buttons while in strings. I wanna get to the point where I’m at least a bit less free than I am now, and the only thing I can really work on alone is execution or get online and try to block high then low with lag.
I’d be willing to help you out :), we can split Pizza costs just lemme buy some modding services off you :D.
Anyway I think your issue is that you don’t have a gameplan, or enough confidence/experience with your character to implement it. On Saturday I could just jump in on you, get a block string and just jump back in for another when it didn’t work out. I think thats how I was all last semester, cause my problem was just blocking crossups, cause somehow I let everyone get in to jump on me. I think it just took me getting my ass beat like 500 times by anthony and steve by them just jumping in on me free like all last semester before I wanted to quit lol.
It wasn’t until a shitload of ST matches and 2 weeks ago anthony pointing out that I didn’t DP enough until I started correctly implementing DP into my zoning (Like this [media=youtube]d0cFs5mHQC4#t=1m11s[/media]). Before I started thinking like that I would just use DP’s and Hado’s almost randomly or just in combos. I think I would just freeze up when they jumped in and tried to block instead of not letting them or punishing them enough so they wouldn’t jump in. And I guess you have to get just a shitload of games in until you wake up and counter instead of just blocking you know?
If you build a gameplan, and actively make yourself implement it during the game with plans for any contingencies that may arise, you’ll do much better. For instance if your plan is to get some headbutts in, and sit back and build meter with ochio throws. Then you have to have a plan for every range I attack you at. Like when I was just jumping in on you for a while I think you can just jump back fierce and take off 20% of my health. Anyway I think all this does come from just playing a lot of games :)… Just thought I’d share my thoughts cause I thought for sure that I played like you last semester.
If this was completely offbase w/e just trying to help :china:, cause last semester (maybe now too LOL) I seriously didn’t look at the game zoning/strategy wise and was completely lost. But yeah I’ll for sure play with you anytime this week and next, but not 26-29th I got a job @ the census wooot.
You definitely hit the nail on the head. I’d thought about it and those are a few of the problems I found. Thanks for the advice and encouragement and being willing to help me out. I know I have to play a ton more games and I’ll eventually get there.
My evenings/nights are always pretty open, what’d work for you?
Learn to block crossups and practice jap hands, thats your main offense with honda.
I would love to play some matchs as well with you if you would like some Bison practice. I can also play some sagat if you want help in the fireball matchup.
Getting better just comes down to repetition.
Honda is a rough character to use in some matchups. It will take a while to get use to adjusting styles based on the matchup.

I need a lot of practice in my Gen vs Honda match up so it would help me too, at first Gen vs Honda always felt like facing Blanka to me but looking at frame data and such I’m starting to realize how Gen can fight back against Honda (its a winnable match up for sure)
The only big thing I noticed with your Honda is that when you got the advantage you always went for chip damage off of hands, using Ochio throws from time to time will net you big damage when your opponent thinks hands are coming and make him afraid to block in the future. It’s a very very effective mix up.
I’ve defiantly got my drive back to play better Street Fighter, I’m thinking out strategies and frame data and whatnot for the first time since before Naptown Clash so I’m really excited to get back to playing

Thanks for the advice guys! I’d be working on my execution right now but my xbox decided to go on the fritz yesterday. It’ll play games for maybe 10 minutes then crash… lovely. That’s what best buy service plans are for thought I guess.
And having seen the range on jab ochio… oh my god I need to use that more.
Now, off to best buy to see what’s up with my 360… grrr.

fuck, that sucks. Do you have a good way of getting around blankas who safe slide all the time? If I don’t have super I generally have trouble getting through that.

damn there isnt a midnight release @ the gamestop near the neon cactus, I just checked right now :(. Anyone know of a place thats doing it?
Wouldn’t surprise me if you could get it at midnight at any of the walmarts in town. I’m not certain though.
Also, any of you know if GGPO runs well on a netbook? It’s the only computer I’ve got.
My netbook can run the games themselves really well, but I’ve never tried them online. Anthony says he can’t play online with his because it goes super slow.
