Voltron: Legendary Defender (Netflix series from TLA & Korra directors and Studio Mir)

Will dreamworks/Netflicks do any other 80’s cartoon? would like to see their take on galaxy rangers or bionic six

Bionic Six? Goddamn, the potential for that.

bionic six was so anime without being an anime

It was produced by TMS, it was literally an anime for the west.

Damn that cliffhanger thou. Lol Netflix recommends after watch Voltron watch How to train your dragon the series.

Her coming out moment lasted about 15 seconds with most of the team saying “meh” and some brief speech about how she was their teammate, vagina and all and nothing more came of it and no “look at me! girl power!” moments

Good news, they say season 2 will be release sometime later this year.

Really? Figured this would join the ranks of 2002 He-Man, and the 2012 Thundercats, when it comes to GOOD reboots that are canceled before their time. Then again, this is only the 2nd season. I’m sure they’ll end it prematurely before long.

I wonder how well the netflix views/ratings for it went. Voltron is a classic series but, i think its a little too old-school to flourish today. For every classic series that stands the test of time like Transformers and DBZ, there are dozens of other properties like Thundercats that simply won’t catch on with today’s generation, and are passed their time.

Netflix will abandon it after season 3 Tops, if not after Season 2. Calling it now.

Netflix isn’t Cartoon Network. They actually give their properties time to breathe.

Plus it’s also Netflix so expectations and the like tend to be completely different and you never really have to worry about timeslots.

It starts off a bit slow but a few episodes in things start to kick into high gear. The last episode was epic and left me wanting more. Can’t wait for Season 2 hnnnnnng!

Watched this recently. Good show, can’t wait for the next season.

I’m an 80s kid, but I remember almost nothing about the original Voltron. I guess that’s a good thing since it means I had no expectations.

This was so good. Such a shame it ended too soon, but thanks to Netflix, reboots have a shot at hanging around longer. Anyone who wants to reboot a show should be thinking about putting it on Netflix. Here’s what reboots I would like to see:
[] GI Joe
[
] Inspector Gadget
[] ReBoot (no pun intended, haha)
[
] Captain Power (it’s a live action show that wasn’t quite for kids, but they had toys)
I wonder if Captain Planet would work in this day and age. Would probably be about fighting climate change more than anything.

ReBoot is already getting a reboot. http://www.cartoonbrew.com/cgi/reboot-reboots-113937.html

Jem should’ve gotten rebooted on Netflix instead of with that horrible live action movie.

EDIT: Speaking of live action, I believe CN still has the rights to Captain Planet and were supposed to be working on a live action adaptation.

They have to alter Captain Planet’s weakness though. Shit is hilarious.

Hero that flies, super strong, shape shifts, controls the elements, etc. sounds busted. But throw a crumpled piece of paper at him and he’s powerless. Really?

You know, I think I remember reading that. Guess I forgot about it. There hasn’t been any updates it seems.

EDIT: There’s this http://www.theverge.com/2015/6/17/8789383/reboot-show-guardian-code-tv-remake

Hasbro is already doing their own cinematic universe with GI Joe, Micronauts, MASK, Rom and Visionaries. I’m sure there’ll be animated accompaniments.

How old are you exactly? I feel it should be pointed out that being technically born in the 80’s doesn’t automatically make one an “80’s kid”.

For example, being born in 1988? That would be a 90’s kid. Not 80’s.

remember when dudes were shouting bout voltron gonna be some korra shit. lmfao

I was born in 1980, so I think I qualify as being an 80s kid.
