Voltron: Legendary Defender (Netflix series from TLA & Korra directors and Studio Mir)

LOVED this series! Loved it! I spent my entire Saturday binging the shit out of this! Now I’m pissed that I didn’t pace myself because it’s only one goddamn season and it ended on a hell of a cliffhanger!!

Only complaint: Voltron seems pretty weak compared to his 80’s counterpart, no more one hit kill after the sword appears; but that’s okay, this is still a young team and they haven’t unlocked his full potential yet and I like seeing them unlock their lions’ special weapons.

People just mad salty that Allura didn’t pilot the Blue Lion. She makes up for it.

Did the old version have special weapons and the like? Did the pilots even have special weapons?

In before their weapons combine like some Power Rangers shit.

That wouldn’t happen till next season at earliest. Shiro doesn’t have his beyard, it currently belongs to Zarkon.

I marathoned this last weekend. Glad to see I wasn’t the only one. Can’t wait for next season.

Y’all two niggas gotta stop posting back to back @RockBogart @“Darc Requiem”

Started watching this shit. We’ll see if it’s any good or if it’s tumblr-pandering shit like Korra.

Nah, ain’t no tumblr pandering here. Pidge might come closest, but eh

Pidge? That glasses wearing kid? It’s a girl, right? I could tell the first time I saw the character in the first episode. I’m sure there’s an episode where she “comes out.”

This is some shit you respond with “oh, cool” and keep it moving, but I have a feeling it’s anything but that with SJW shitmongers.

…KORRA!! SHIT?

I give it that it did do some pander a bit in the early season and for the finale,
(.…Though we all won out as far as Korrasami’s concerned!!; but it was tolerable compared epic action and story that was going on in the seasons. Amon, Book 3, Queen of the Hands aka Kuriva, and etc.

Aside from that…to call, KORRA…SHIT!?

Enjoying it so far. Made it too ep 6 and knowing that the end is near is making me take it all in nice and slow.

when Voltron first went on the air in the early 80s we kids all thought it was the shit.
Then i saw the mex dub while in Puerto Rico and heard the original japanese music + the violence and gore that the American dubbers edited out…and then i realized the unedited mex version was 1,000x better than the “safe for kids” American version.
Then i came back to the states and when Voltron came on tv…i realized it was shit.
i turned it off. Never watched Voltron again until fairly recently on Crunchyroll.
Mex dub still better cuz they improved the writing from the original jap script.

Pidge is a girl, yes, but it’s justified.

Spoiler

She’s the sister of Shiro’s crewmate at the start of episode one. She has her background episode and “comes out” to the team a few eps later.

…you have shit taste.

finished. this was really really good. im a lil disappointed the squad didnt figure out how they were being tracked. since its bright as day.

Just watched the first ep (dled the season) let me guess… tracked by the arm?

I think it’s funny that Pidge is a female pretending to be a male while the voice actor was this tomboy type of character in Arrow.

they dont confirm how…but its pretty obvious.

Sin wasn’t a reverse trap, she’s just butch.

So i just started watching this show and, while it has some stuff i don’t like, it seems like a MUCH more worthwhile and respectable revival than the last two attempts. Props. Although it pissed me off the way they learned to form Voltron in the 2nd-3rd episode.

I was really hoping in the midst of their training that a robeast was going to show up for a surprise attack. With an epic fight ensuing and them getting their asses handed to them. Then at their worst point, they band together and unite.

Nope. How did they come together to finally form Voltron as a team? After a foodfight. A foodfight!!

ARE. YOU. F**KING. SERIOUS?!

That left me with Blue lion sized blueballs.

Forming under stress is what happened the first time.

Bonding through a food fight is a trope right out of an 80s movie or Saturday morning cartoon, true.
