Voice Actors for MvC3

She’s the only one in the unknown list whom voiced a Marvel character, IIRC, so yes, it’s possible. Who knows, but interesting to keep in mind.

Well. Guess I was wrong about Hsien-Ko’s voice actress. Hunter Austin hasn’t done a lot of things that I remember too well just based on her filmography. Regardless, not digging the voice. Maybe it’ll grow on me.

Kinda surprised by some of the voice actors on the Capcom side. A lot of them aren’t really voice actors per se…mostly television actors. Huh. Well, color me impressed.

Since characters name their tag-ins I wonder if all these actors are going to have to come back in to record future DLC or if any DLC Capcom ever has planned for this game is set in stone already.

Maybe Capcom had them record a bunch of extra tag in’s, just in case? Calling the VA’s back to say some a couple new names seems like a waste of time to me. Then again, I don’t run things at Capcom, maybe it’s not so bad.

What’s wrong with the JP Ryu in SF4? :wonder:

I don’t see why they can’t just get them to record wherever they are and send it in. The VA’s must have easy access to recording equipment.

I would mirror your statement and equally disagree entirely. Soul Caliber 2 wasn’t
THAT bad quite honestly, and even Blazblue had some characters that weren’t
too terrible either. Of course, more than half the cast for each of those games was
not very good…so I suppose it’d be fitting to say that unlike other game genres, fighters
just generate terrible actors. Or at least, are inconsistent in their talent.

Not at all. Any fighter in the native japanese language outclasses this game’s acting by
leaps and bounds (not an exaggeration either). The difference in acting is quite…noticable.
VERY noticable.

They’re all in that same boat of “characters I didn’t mention sound crappy as hell.”

The sad thing is that since Modok is an already terrible character (I don’t mind this via
gameplay, I mean the character himself), I didn’t really expect them to give him a grand
voice.

Thor…god almighty (no pun intended), this poor bastard has some bad VA history. His only
two good (one being decent, the other being excellent) VAs are Rick D. Wasserman (Avengers
Earth’s Mightiest Heroes cartoon) and Matthew Wolf (Hulk VS. movie). The one in the game
sounds way too stupidly cheesy. Especially that super taunt.

I haven’t heard Wesker’s VA in english. If I recall correctly, in the character introduction trailer,
his voice was in japanese. But then again, Wesker has always sounded so absoutely terrible.
Like a less silly version of Evil Betty from the Kung Pow movie.

Similar to Thor, sounds too stupidly cheesy. Although probably not as bad as Thor.

I totally forgot some VA’s do their work from home. Sounds good to me.

Not surprising. Toshiyuki Morikawa voiced Dante in the Devil May Cry anime and is the only Japanese Dante, so he’s just reprising his role. The same exact thing happened in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom where Toshiyuki Morikawa reprised the role of Tekkaman Blade.

Atsuko Tanaka voiced Trish in the DMC anime and will be her Japanese voice in this game, but she’s done Chun-Li’s voice in SF3 Third Strike, CFE and Namco x Capcom (she is probably more famously known for portraying Motoko Kusanagi in every Ghost in the Shell anime). Chun-Li’s current voice actress, Fumiko Orikasa was Lady in the DMC anime.

As an aside it’s good that they swapped out Yayoi Jinguji for Rei Tanaka regarding Morrigan’s voice. Yayoi Jinguji’s getting up there in age and she is starting to sound really old. If you watch her Japanese TVC ending she sounds like she’s climbing in age. Not so much in Cross Edge but I suspect they recorded her voice for that game earlier than TVC.

…I’m still playing this game entirely in English though. Too many injokes you miss out on otherwise. I’ll switch some characters to Japanese down the line, probably.

It’s going to be pretty funny to the trained ear if the sound quality is a little different on newer DLC.

Kinda surprised Laura Bailey wasnt cast as Morrigan, but eh take what you can. I like alot of the VA’s, but i defintly have heard better. Btw anime fans do care about the acting, and trust me we Can tell when it sucks and when it doesnt( Watch Baccano! or Cowboy Bebop in English, then watch Vampire Knight and Slayers and tell me Slayers and Vampire Knight are better acted XD)

Who knows? Some might have professional recording equipment at thier home, others may go to a studio.

Someone needs to rip the audio files from the disc when the game comes out, we may get ourselves a clue if they included it all ahead of time.

Same here on Laura Bailey. I always pictured Morrigan to sound like Lust.

how many people do you think will forget paul dobson voiced doctor doom in the last F4 cartoon

The way he sounds.

well shes scottish aint she

If Capcom will planning to released the DLC Marvel Characters Japanese Voice Pack. I hope they’re calling Keiji Fujiwara/Iron Man (Marvel Anime & film dub reprises), Rikiya Koyama/Wolverine (same as Iron Man in anime, but no film dub), Takeru Shibaki/Spider-Man (Marvel film & video game dub reprises, role actor of Super Sentai’s Gaoranger’s GaoBlue) & descirbe as:
The 3 of first Marvel characters which may allow to choose between English or Japanese.

They’re not.

Deal with it, weaboos.

I can’t quite remember SC2, but BB went straight to JP mode for me.
SCIV/III were ALRIGHT, but IV had horrendous voices for some characters on both language-settings.

At least Marvel has only…3 characters that make me frown.

Having said all of that, you don’t seem to like the ‘ham and cheese’ aspects of most characters (from reading your post,) whereas I love that sort of stuff. Different tastes I suppose.

Care to expand?
