Voice Actors for MvC3

But… You just described Tyler (Bradd Pitt) in Fight Club lol.

Fixed.

He probably hasn’t seen the movie.

Or read the book, which everyone should do.

Everyone should do both. Right now.

they can get actors to do games like castlevania with hour long scripts but they cant be the 45 seconds for a fighting game like mvc? Not to say magneto HAS to be voiced by Gandolf, i was just saying it would have been cool. Their hearts were in the right place with the cake guy. But just because something hasn’t been done doesn’t mean it’s out of the realm of possibility. You make it sound like a completely outrageous idea. Then again when i was 4 i’d never believed i’d be gaming with a wireless controller…

Anyways, The voice work in this game seems to be pretty spot on thus far. And i’m really glad they went the extra mile and put in all the personal quotes between characters.

Simply not worth the money it would cost, I think that’s the problem

There will be more banter between characters for sure. :stuck_out_tongue: In other modes too I bet.

Konami’s also willing to spend a ton more money on voice acting since its what drives the story forward. Capcom got the recent cartoon voices, which is good enough for me.

This is a fighting game. no one cares how intelligent or sophisticated he might be because non of that is portrayed when he’s rushing you down.

And clearly that is why magneto’s MvC2 voice fit him so well even with all it’s faults.

The current voice actor sounds like the typical cartoony evil genius.

So you don’t care about the character’s personality being conveyed by the voice acting? You want them to sound like they’re rushing you down? I didn’t know there was a specific voice that fit rushdown characters.

His MvC2 voice didn’t fit him at all. Being intelligent and sophisticated is a part of his attitude, reflects on his battle demeanor, and should be considered. I would expect them to find a voice actor that matches the character personality and not his move set. How you can even choose a voice based on being a rushdown or keep away character is beyond me. Then again everything you’ve said up until this point has sounded so rediculous I don’t understand how this conversation is still going.

Trying to belittle my argument to further yours? What is possibly beyond you is actually at reach to most.

Someone who is considered intelligent wouldn’t waste their time in sullying their hands when having to deal with anyone. If magneto was designed just like he was portrayed in the comics and cartoons then magneto should have been a long-range defensive character, but he’s not.

This magneto is a rush down machine and he deserves to sound like a badass not like some cliche evil genius.

and i also find it funny how people think that anyone with a british or english accent is automatically considered to be intelligent and sophisticated.

Not sure which part to mock first. The notion that people are saying he conveys regality and intelligence because he has a British accent or the notion that rushdown style only fits unintelligent characters. They’re both equally silly statements.

It doesn’t matter how he plays; MARVEL made the character, MARVEL chose the voice actor, MARVEL knows Magneto. None of us including YOU have no say at all on how he should or should not sound. MvC2 was a HUGE, successful mistake, from VAing to gameplay. Do you REALLY think Marvel would choose that voice again?

When did a comic book character suddenly have his correct voice thought out from a videogame YEARS after being made? XD He HAS been in things other than MvC.

And who the hell was talking about British accents? Lol.

Technically he’s German, not British or English. Once again, to even insinuate that his play style in the game should reflect on his voice acting is ridiculous. I’m not belittling your argument to help mine, I’m belittling your argument because it in itself could potentially be in the running for Seth’s “mind blowing broken” addition to this game.

The voice actors are supposed to reflect the character and their personality, not their move set. And they do. I’m not saying it’s a spot on performance by any means, but it is a far cry closer than the amazingly retarded out of character voice they had in MvC2. How you can use this as a point of reference can ONLY come from nostalgia, not actual knowledge of the character at all in any other medium.

Now if your argument is that Magneto does not play like he does in the comics, I and any other comic fan will agree with you. But that in no way constitutes changing his voice to match his game play. That is absolutely idiotic.

Also, Magneto is a badass because of his actions, not because of his voice.

I always hated Strider’s voice in MVC2. It didn’t sound ‘teleporty’ enough.

ROFL. I’m guessing Storm OH got put in cuz it’s hail-y and chippy. (Dammit this feels like trolling. Robo = secret cult leader, calling it now)

Does movie and pizza nights count as a cult? If so then yes.

Edit again: Crap out wasn’t a double, and I just destroyed it.
