Voice Actors for MvC3

I felt that Ultimate Mags was a really interesting character. While he was really similar to early 616 Magneto, his ideas for mutantkind were actually kinda clever, (developing their own language, actually persuading people that he wasn’t a complete wackjob…) He had a pretty good costume too.

Magneto’s new voice may not be what people had in mind, but at least it’s better than MVC2 Mags.

X-Men in almost any iteration is full of plot holes and retconns. But yeah I can’t really enjoy it anymore.

Ultimate Magneto is a Mutant Bin Laden. 616 is a respectable man who resorts to various acts of extremism as a means of mutant preservation.

disagree, on the basis of badassery

How’s this for badassery.

Please tell me that’s real and not a shop.

It’s real because I said so and my word > yours. So :stuck_out_tongue:

It sounds intelligent. No hint of comedy can be read into it. Just get over it.

I didn’t say he wasn’t a terrorist, but a seductive terrorist?

Just because it’s a shoop, doesn’t mean it isn’t true.

Yeah it’s totally a shop. But still the truth.

Nooooooooooooooooo, I won’t accept it.

Needs gay old man bandwagon imo; watch the hate FLOOOOOOW in, Mookie style.

How the fuck did tyler durden get brought up on a magneto thread… anyways. They should have just snagged gandolf for the voice work. I’m extremely sad that they didn’t pull any influence from ultimate magneto. The diaper just kills it for me. It didnt bug me when i was 10 but its not doing it for me now. I guess you guys would self destruct if it wasn’t original magneto though. This voice actor is just the cherry on top of all goofiness that has become magneto

Well, I always knew we’d be getting ‘MVC2’ Magneto, so the 60s costume didn’t really shock me.
I would’ve preferred Ultimate Mags though.

Also, I don’t think anyone has discussed Joe’s voice yet?
It’s oh-kay, but I think everyone would prefer the original game’s VA. Guess we’ll see what the JP Joe is like.

(Actually, just read that the original VJ is doing voice-work for American Dad and a bunch of other cartoons, guess he’s too important for Capcom to bother now…)

Yeah, because they’re going to get an A-List actor for voice work. Seriously? Why would you even think that was a possibility lol. They didn’t pull any influence from Ultimate Magneto because this is 616 Magneto, it wouldn’t make any sense to make him some hybrid just because you guys want some ‘grim-dark, super edgy’ Magneto. Magneto has had that ‘diaper’ thing for years, in both MVC2 and the 90’s cartoon and obviously way before that, Magneto hasn’t become goofy you guys just never knew who Magneto was obviously.

Semi off-topic, but big game companies get awesome-famous VAs all the time.
Capcom usually doesn’t, though.

No I’m aware that we get big names for video games, but for fighting games? Not so much.

And really, we get television stars, B-Listers. Someone like Ian McKellen? That’s like asking for Hugh Jackman to play wolverine. It happens on the rare occasion (like in Wolverine Origins) but in games like this, with no lines, hell even with most games, it just doesn’t happen.

Yeah, you’re right. Fallout 3 and Castlevania (which were the two I had on my mind recently) are much different from fighting games when voices are concerned.

Quantity-wise most of all.

I’m not going to argue the actual acting but the voices themselves were a perfectly cast for the most part, better then the recent marvel cartoons. And it had by far the best Magneto voice (which Capcom never used in the versus games )

Hearing anyone but Cathal Dodd voicing Wolverine seems so wrong to me.

what does fight club have to do with anything?

He’s giving you an example of a character that matches your description for Magneto.

except it doesnt. Magnto has a seductive and charming personality to appeal to the darker side of mutants and get them to follow his cause. hes able to reach the anger and get them to join the brotherhood. Xavier has to send out his X-men and have them talk for him. magneto is definitely a seductive terrorist.
