A lot of the time I’m playing at grey bar connections because of the vast numbers of Japanese players on. The highest bar I’ve played at is 3 bars which was pretty danm smooth.
Usually I play with folks in the green, but I’ve had a few matches with players in the grey and it really wasn’t all that bad… Well, not on my end, don’t know about theirs. Game’s netcode is much better than I expected it to be. At it’s best, it’s almost hard to tell if you’re playing online. And that’s saying a lot, considering the type of game VOOT is.

as for unresponsive controls, im willing to bet youre using the triggers for something. im working the same problem with that, one thing that helps somewhat is doing the trigger + button input like trigger ~ button the same way you do…kara throws or the soul calibur slide inputs i guess. i guess its just like fighters in the sense that you spend your first X matches trying to get your guy to do what you want, and THEN you can get into the rest of the game.
i tend to play 2-3 bar matches, which have no perceptual lag. compare that to say, SF4, where 3 bars is borderline unplayable. i know SF is a lot more sensitive to frame differences, but still

why… why can you only play VOOT multiplier online / system link. So dumb. Where is my split screen!!! How hard is it to code that -_-…
How would you even play split screen? You wouldn’t be able to see anything!
Hey, when we didn’t have a link cable available to us, my buddy and I got by just fine on the Dreamcast port’s split screen, on what I believe was a 19" screen. If he was still around here to play some VOOT, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind playing splitscreen now that the game’s in HD widescreen, on a 40" set. 
Plus, you were allowed to change the aspect if I remember correctly, verticle or horizontal. I don’t have anybody to play VOOT with around these parts anymore, so I’ve got no need for it… But there are still a lot that do. I hope Sega patches the game with an option for splitscreen later on, if possible. Also, they need to give us the option to use the d-pad for movement on the standard control scheme.
Something seems to be terribly wrong with the replay save system. I had like 5 different replays which I just saved with the default name of the matchup. Instead of recording each of them, it made 5 copies of the first replay. I tried going through and deleting the extra replays to see if it was just playing the first one, but either I’m the unluckiest bastard ever and deleted the first one last, or each of the replays was just the same replay.
So yea, I would avoid making files with the default name, no matter how quick it is.

How do you use custom colors in ranked/player matches?
When you select your character, go to the load option below random.
Also make sure to create colors for both the DNA and RNA sides.
You can just make a color with the model you prefer, just make your your game is set to the correct side before you start. use left/right on the main menu to switch between DNA/RNA.
In online multiplayer, If you enter someone’s game, you will be the second player RNA color, and if you are the host you will be the DNA color, so you need to customize both to use them online.
