I guess not! There were only four foreigners who entered, and one didn’t show up. I played and lost horribly (5AM is just too early :shake: ). Videos are available from the quarter finals and above: http://www.oratan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=177
I think the next tournament will have the “foreigners bracket” held at a reasonable time, so only the winner will have to get up early for the round of 16. Hopefully we can get a decent showing of US players!
Not sure how to paste an image, but here is a link to what it looks like. This is DC version running on an emulator with a HDR plugin. Beautiful isn’t it? :lovin:
Yeah man so I haven’t had a TV for awhile but I’m getting one this weekend. Hopefully I can get back into this game and people are still playing. I wasn’t good to start with but hopefully I can get better.
I have Virtual On Operation Moongate for the PC. And I am having problems with it running. Every time I get to the Continue Screen on Windows 7 and XP, the game crashes, I tried loading it on a Windows Virtual PC, and loaded into my Virtual Windows 98, it works except there is no music at all. Seems to be a limitation from the Virtualized Windows 98 Sound system. It uses an archaic Sound blaster derivative. Anyhow if you have Virtual On for PC running and running it perfectly let me know.
Again on 7 and XP it runs perfect, except if I get to the continue screen it crashes.
Yea I remember having that problem. Being a geek I was back then I just took that as an incentive to be good enough to always beat it w/o ever getting a game over. It’s also thanks to that I learned the existence of the SSS rank :wow:
Looks like a lot of people here played the game on XBL at one point! Wish I was around to get your gamertags.
The US VOOT community actually held an online tournament for rookies and people who aren’t amazing at the game at the beginning of the month. Free entry, matches streamed over the internet, and first place got 4800 MS Points! Shame our “massive” advertising machine didn’t reach y’all, but we’re looking to put another one on soon.
This is just a stepping stone to getting VOOT as an official tournament at EVO though.
The goal is for it to be sort of the successor to the old virtualon.net. Primarily, the aim is to load it with tons of Virtual-On related content (strategies, projects, game info, artwork, etc etc). It’s light on content right now, but that should change soon as more stuff gets added (after being translated, in some cases).
A friend is trying to set up an online VO tournament, but he’s having a hard time due to lack of interest. It seems interest in VOOT has dropped off recently.
Would anyone here be interested in competing in an online VOOT tournament? If so, would it have to be a rookie tournament, or would you enter an open skill tournament? If not, how much money would have to be offered as a prize for you to be interested? :bgrin:
Man, this game still has life!? I used to play for Saturn and Dreamcast, but I didn’t have any of the twitch those japanese players have. I might be interested in a Rookie tournament. Let me know how much, and I’ll mod my twin stick for 360 and buy VOOT.
8-month bump, I know, but this is the most recent VO thread I could find on the forum.
A friend and I are willing to bring two 360s with VOOT to set-up at Season’s Beatings if there’s any room and interest for it. We’d need two displays of course, so the side karaoke rooms probably wouldn’t suffice. Ghaleon says he’d be willing to set it up only if there’s substantial interest in the community, so reply to my post here in the SB:R thread or PM Ghaleon if you’re interested so that the organizers know that there’s at least a few people willing to play.
