Virtua Fighter 5 IS online

Lol Coffeerox is back.

Yeah…VF5 moves pretty quick. Like as far as actual game speed it’s faster than T5. T5 just has more special effects n stuff filling up the screen.

I get really tired of people saying “insert fighting game here” is slow. Especailly when they talk about Tekken or Vf.

VF is faster than Tekken. and Tekken isn’t slow at all IMO.

Zero-chan from VFDC has posted up some very very nice pics of the hori 360 EX2 stick, VF5 360 in general, and even some screens from the ALL NEW ver. C opening!

I want now… damn it.

Anyhow, Zero-chan as well as SoCal players will be having a post-E3 party in Riverside, California for those in the local area that are interested.

Why wait for online… when you can play now??? Get lessons for free from experienced VF players.

Man, Coffeerox is back for the sake of comedy.:looney:

What the fuck did you just say!? Virtua Fighter slower than Tekken? You do realize that the rounds in Virtua Fighter(wether its scrub or high level) hardly ever lasts more than 15 seconds. You cant perfect a dead opponent in some fighting games that quickily. I respect people’s preferences to play Tekken/SC over Virtua Figter, Most people in that states have that preference but they know and acknowledge that VF is Chess at 1500 miles per hour. Let me reiterate I am not saying that other games are shitty/slow but Virtua Fighter is just that deep andf fast and this is no exaggeration. Practically nothing in that game is safe for more than several frames. I heard someone around here say that VF is like Cyinide to scrubs…I disagree. This shit is more like concentrated airborne sarin nerve gas to scrubs.

yup thats my mentality.

Damn, now I HAVE to get a 360.

I hope they do a demo for Xbox live to hold us over.

I don’t get how they’re pricing the same stick as the DoA one at 10 dollars more, but it’s at least usable.

I wana see the full new intro in its entirety lol. It’s a petty part of the game I know, but it’s still cool. I also dig the new load screen icon lol.

chances are crazy slim, but does anybody think the high grade ps3 stick will work? it’s basically the best stick ever created. (well it needs a lot more pink but eh)

Doesn’t work, niether does the HRAP3. XBox is super picky about peripherals working on its console without license/notice/contract. Just hoping for a good convertor of some sort, even if it’s done by MS themself.

^i should’ve said this in the post but i was thinking sega could release the drivers in a download. just repackage the stick and offer a cd with the drivers, or a dl.

slim, but feasible.

lol you guys are hillarious. but only to a point tho. It’s only goes so far before your hilariously low reading comprehension stops being funny. I never said that VF was slow. Please point that out where I exactly said it was slow. I just said Tekken and SC are fast paced and furious to me, key words, to me. You see, just because I said that Tekken/SC was more fast paced and furious doesn’t automatically equate to game speed. The thing is, a game can be fast paced and furious just by the actions that you do in each match.

In VF, I find myself poking a lot. Because one wrong move equates to 50-70% of your life. I don’t do non-safe on block moves AT ALL. The reprocussions are more worse in VF than they are in any other game (well cept A2/3 where you can get CC’ed) In Tekken, for instance with Hworang, I’m playing high/low mixing up with flamingo strings, staying on top of my okizeme game, stance dancing, I’m thinking and playing at 1500 miles a second. Not only this, but my juggles have to be ON POINT, because there ARE NO easy high damage juggles. There are easy juggles, but the highest damage ones are the hardest ones. This is what I’m finding with Tekken. It’s more to me. Does not mean I ever said VF was slow though. Oh, and there’s a reason why Itagaki said VF was slow. The difference is, Itagaki actually comes out and said that it’s slow. I didn’t. Oh, and now that VF has been gone from my house for week or so now, my head is a lot clearer. So have fun trying to troll me because it won’t work. Toodles!

lei fei would like to have a word with you sir

Can I play you cofferox? I’d like to pwn you with P>6P over and over again. Or hell pick Eileen and just cheese you to death. Down punch is a strong interrupt option sure, but EVERY character has a way of beating down punch even sometimes from enormous disadvantage.

Hell with Sarah, I can just go elbow > delayed knee and you’ll get MC’d launched for a combo if you tried to low punch.

VF does seem like it goes back in forth but that’s because the game is very dependent on yomi and less on dashing around like a lunatic to get your opponent to whiff so you can Electric him to death.

whatever you thought you could do, you can’t. There’s very few that you can actually do. Go into the training mode, set the CPU to Down punch on block, then go through the entire move list. If you end up either

A) getting hit not being able to do anything
B) blocking 2P

then you can never have an attack pattern with that move or any other move after that, because your opponent now has the advantage. It’s all in the frames. After you try this out, you will realize the game is a poke fest, with mild mixup games, huge on punishing mistakes and setups that your opponent just can’t get out of . For instance Jeffery’s back behind the wall, do a position change throw, when your opponent gets thrown into the wall, do his giant mule kick, then finish with a splash, nothing you could do if you did not break Jeff’s throw. Does insane damage.

Has this been tested with the down punch on block option? If not I don’t believe it until I see it. Even if it does work, there’s always something else that you can do, that will interrupt Sarah’s attack pattern. No attack pattern is safe in that game. You need to use options (CPU details)(Guard and insert actions here)1, 2 and 4 for every move in the game. P on block, 2P on block and throw on block

dude you cannot beat the frames. Try this. Lion’s 4,3P. It’s -15 frames on block. 14 frames for a common down punch. Lion will get down punched out of it EVERY TIME, because down punch is FREE. You take a move’s execution frame add with action frames, and subtract that from -15 because that is how fast your next move will be when you are blocking Lion’s 4,3P. That is just a sample of the kind of frame situations you will get into in every matchup.

Ummm no shit there is something else you can do. There usually is “something” else you can do about any tactic in any game. I mean look at the most popular fighting game in the USA 3S, repitition? PARRY! pwned.

But what you are saying is full of shit just like most of what you post, low punch will not beat everything, in fact there is whole bunch of things which can’t be interrupted by low punch and all kinds of ways to totally pwn the shit out of someone that does low punch all the time.

And yes delayed elbow > knee will beat low punch, do you even play anybody decent at VF? That’s like such a basic tactic and it WILL beat P and throw and any mid attack, you have to keep blocking or evade in order to beat it. Hell with Jacky you can go 6P > backdash to let 2P whiff and punish.

I mean fuck with Akira you can go PP and that beats low punch interrupt. Hell even better, you can go P > 3P+K+GP, that move sabaki’s low punch/high punch and will beat slow moves and you can hit confirm it for knockdown to Akira rapefest.

The reason why the user above even posted the example with Lei Fei is sooo obvious. If you block a move that puts Lei Fei in his one leg standing stance and try to low punch him HE AUTO REVERSES and you eat shit. Hell if you jab/elbow/any thing involving the punch button that isn’t double limb or body check YOU WILL GET PWNED AND HUMILIATED.

Man no wonder American’s don’t like VF, they don’t understand how the game plays.

alright I’m not going to sit here and argue with you because it’s pretty much pointless. Go try that shit out like I said, and try your stupid attack patterns on options 1,2 and 4 and lets see where these attack patterns will be at, because even if down punch doesn’t work, either standing punch on block or throw on block will work. As I said, no attack pattern (or should I say strings) is safe. It’s pretty sad really because you don’t even own the game to have even tested every move like I have. That’s why it’s a waste of time arguing with you.

that’s full of shit right there because what I posted was tested on block. Which means if you do the move, I block it, and I counter with [insert action here] and it gets beat, then it’s unsafe. I’m not talking spamming down punch. I’m talking about using down punch where it’s needed. You make a mistake and do some shit like Lion’s 4,3P, I will block and down punch you and it will be free damage, like it or not. You can test this out on your own and see that I’m 100% right. Again I’m through arguing with you if you do not like what I just said.

Don’t even bother replying Granby. You can’t make this rock bleed, even with Goh’s 6p:wink:
