Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown

Man we need to kidnap a bunch of sega of japan employees and threaten to kill them if our demands are not met.

there are a million reasons why that wouldn’t work.

The cheesy feel is what makes it so good.

WHAT A KNUCKLEHEAD!

Also, anything that Jeffery says.

“NOW THAT’S MARINER’S POWER!”

and where’s the problem with that again?

I personally like the look and design of the game, I see no flaws with it. I’m not about to get into a graphical debate or anything about what’s the best, but I personally think it’s still one of the best looking games to come out in the most current generation of fighters, let alone a lot of other games as of late. A lot of people knock on the characters designs too… but I love em. Simplicity is where it’s at… and if you don’t like the look of your character, there are more than enough options for customization to appease most people.

Besides, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… character design has no effect on what and/or who I play in fighting games. I play characters whose playing style feels the most enjoyable and comfortable to me in each fighting game I play.

and the backgrounds… I dare anyone to find another fighting game with better looking backgrounds. (opinions… they mean nothing I know)

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH![/Jacky]

I miss Jacky’s hand cuff lightning quote from 4:sad:

That, and Wolf’s “LET’S FIGHT AGAIN!!!”

Are you implying there’s something wrong with 90’s fighting games?

This made my eyes bleed.

…Whyyyyyyyy???

Ergh, I hate all the decisions they made for that game. Couldn’t they at least have included the Hornet from Daytona? And if they had those two driving in a red sports car, at least make it look like the one from OutRun. Pah, I don’t want to think about it.

Anyway, as for Sega only leasing the cabinet of VF5R out and all that controversy; I remember a few months back Sega was talking about how they wanted to revitalise arcades and part of that plan was changing the business model from buying new games/cabinets to leasing them instead. The idea was to lower start up costs and make it easier for arcade operators to change and update the machines. Not being an arcade owner/operator I can’t say if it’s good or not, but it sounds to be a solid idea at least.

Man VF5 has phenominal gameplay. I love the presentation of it too. It’s too bad that I really don’t play it anymore none of my friends played it like I did. Honestly VF5 is the best looking fighter graphics wise IMO and it came out a few years ago. Ugh let me stop talking about this game. Don’t want to get hype if theres no console release…

Said by one of the few people who play/brought the game. :T

Dude, we don’t need to justify VF’s appeal to peeps like DHEvil; people like that will find fault with anything that isn’t SFIV, real talk.

Like a 90’s fighter? What does that even mean? If it means, back in the those times when games were actually cool, gave us what we paid for and didn’t completely pander down to us like little children, than yes it is.

reverse psychology. In fact, we should start a petition asking for them NOT to port the game.

“On the battlefield…you’d be dead!”

God, I love Vanessa.

just saw the trailer, improved in-fighting??

this is why Shenmue 3 isnt released yet

Well, the 90’s did produce almost every fighting game we’ve been playing for over 10 years now, so it can’t be that bad…

And I thought the reason why Shenmue 3 wasn’t out yet is because the series has been nothing but a huge moneysink for Sega?I personally enjoy Shenmue and want to find out WTF happens with Lan Di and that Chinese girl, but casual gamers are again at fault here because they just jump into the game, find it boring, and then never play it again, or just don’t buy it. I remember the old previews where Yu Suzuki was talking about making the game into a 16 chapter masterpiece to be released over a period of many years and now look, it’s struggling to get 3 out…

Anyways…no new info on Final Showdown lately besides that one trailer?

The second that new information is revealed, from new videos and images, to features, and even test locations, and hopefully a console release, this thread will be updated. Just pay attention to VFDC and VersusCity and you won’t miss anything. Sega isn’t exactly the most capable company when it comes to promoting their products.

  • Not enough support for it at all, I assume. Suzuki is probably not seeing reason to continue. As for me, I need to beat 2 first. lol

  • so getting VF 5 Online is pointless or no?

hot dog

VF5R keeps reminding me of VF3 for some reason, whenever I’m watching match videos.
