Y r u always fighting with people? It seems as though nobody here likes you
Speaking of Tekken what ever happened to that Tekken vs VF game?
Namco has tried twice to get Sega to agree. Both times Sega has said that they do not want it. Namco even had a team working on different control schemes to see what would work between VF and Tekken, though they never revealed what exactly they had in mind to the public. It’s not like these companies don’t pay attention to each other, all.net and customs, refloat and B!, Jin Kazama and Jean Kujo doing karate. Maybe if VF5FS does well in arcades and consoles we’ll see Namco make another push. It’s certainly been a hot few years for fighters and things are looking good going forward.
Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but I don’t really want to see a Tek vs VF at all. It’s ironic because one is a game I take seriously and compete in, and the other is the game I’ve always loved and had a deep appreciation for. But the systems are too different. Combining them would mean compromising integral mechanics of each and the primary thought of this engine makes me cringe. It’d take a genius to figure out how to pull this off in such a way that both camps are adequately satisfied past just seeing their fave characters go at it. On paper and at first glance, there’s enough similarities and base points there to make a start of course, but a truly successful fusion would damn near require rocket science.
It’s just gonna a unique beast, not replacing Tekken nor VF.
Like the VS series didn’t actually replace the original games series they took from.
This game is looking brilliant, I was a bit concerned about the throw changes at first, but now I’m sold on it. It will take some getting used to not doing Wolf’s Jack Hammer with a df+df+P+G though, that direction has been hardwired in my head for throwing with him since Vf2 on Saturn.
I could be down with a VF vs TK, with the VF gameplay and engine, and then a separate TK vs VF with the TK gameplay and engine. Or just make it one game and allow you to change the game engine like Sega did with fighters megamx between VF and fighting Vipers

From one month ago: SEGA Replies to the Console Petition (big spoilers it is lackluster)
Just for anyone else on here who doesn’t check VFDC with any regularity.
*Because *of that petition (which I took part in) I’ve been keeping a close eye on VF5FS,
and VFDC. I **WANT **this game stateside. It’s smooth as silk!

Damn that shit is hot
ugh I can’t decide if I’ll still play Sarah, or move to Jacky, shit I might even use Jean.
But the game has got to come out for me to play first.
Sticking with Sarah man. I won’t allow you to move on to anyone else until I’ve played her lol.
That Lau wall combo (counter hit I would imagine) was nasty. Do not know if combos like that are the norm in VF these days, but I got a glimpse of Tekken in that video, lol.
Huge wall combos are standard in VF5R and look to be in VF5FS as well. The idea is that if you push your opponent out of the ring it does 100% damage essentially because you win the round. So AM2 wants a similar reward for pushing your opponent to the edge of the ring in a walled stage. They are trying to make controlling ring positioning much more rewarding in walled stages.
Well, I think especially since VF5:R, wall combos are really nasty. Almost a ring-out in that sense, at least against an opponent who knows how to take advantage of hitting you into the wall.
Just wondering, who is known for being evasive.? I’ve been looking at some 5r videos, I’m really liking how Eileen and Shun play, would they be considered as such (evasive)? Though I’m not exactly sure about how important evasiveness impacts this game. Looking for someone who has the closest similarity to Xiaoyu from Tekken (in evasiveness, not fighting style).

Just be sure to duck any chairs thrown your way.
wow, lmao. Good thing arcade machines are side-by-side. And I love how she even has a taunt while she’s evading (I’m guessing she says kakatte koi automatically if she’s side stepping?)… Plus I’m pretty confident in my real-life speed and evasiveness…
I guess Eileen is my character. xD
She doesn’t say that while evading.
Shun is the most evasive character on the game (atleast in vanilla, he lost alot of evasive properties in R apparently). Eileen is more of an offensive character. I think her only evasive move is shoulder ram, which can do alot of damage, unless I’m forgetting about something.
Tons of VF5R Homestay Akira matches against other top players on this channel. I don’t think this has been posted here. YouTube - ultra0034’s Channel
EDIT:Lei-Fei and Lion are evasive as well.
