Man, I was pretty much in a slump today. I lost matches that I should’ve won.

I noticed they are putting music videos for MvC3 on the frontpage, f that is the case I think it is frontpage material.

Thats a cool video cynuous, but I fear some of your combos wont work, if the opponent teches. Especially for the throw combos the counter turns greens after the first bound. Otherwise a good vid!

Love that video

well I don’t think its supposed to be a serious fight, its choreographed to look nice not be a serious online match

I was in that rut yesterday and lost my positive ratio, came back today and went on a couple streaks and now I’m +20. this game is really tough unless your really in the right mood.

btw is it just me or is this game REALLY hard to play if you listening to music rather than the game sounds?

I’m having issues, but I think I’m going to bite the bullet and drop my main, Aoi. I think Jeffery is more my style. He does good damage, his combos are easier, and he seems overall just more my style. I know Aoi is higher on the tier list, but I feel I’m really working too hard in matches with her. I have having to really work to get 60 or 70 damage ever time. I know she is a character who sort of knicks you to death, but I’m fed up. It’s not with the game either. The problem is that I’ve been using Guile in AE for 4 years now, and Guile is a knick you to death character too. I’m just too tired having to set shit up to not do any real damage. Jeff may not high on that tier list, but when that fucker hit you, it freakin hurts like hell. I think I need to go ahead and bring Jeff up in the spotlight. Too bad he isn’t often use though, I wonder why. eh. As long as he has damage, I’ll make him work.

There’s no bad character in VF. Eileen is low tier but she does really well in tournaments.

all characters can work, but some click with different people. I’ve also moved on to Jeffy over Brad, and while I still enjoy and was having success with brad-somewhat- I’m liking Jeffry more.

Yeah, I know there are no bad characters. And I really think my frustration is that I’ve been playing a character in another game for 4 years straight, and he has the same problems as my character in this game does. After 4 years of working my ass off for damage, I’m just frustrated. I hate working my ass off for damage and then some opponent comes in, and hits me for damage I worked my ass of to do. If this were 4 years ago, I think I would have had more patience to stick with her. But I’m really not trying to go through the same thing again.

I agree with this. And I think the thing about Jeff is that he’s a good paced character. He doesn’t rely on being tricky and he’s straight forward. Fits my personality a lot more. Aoi has good mixups and she’s tricky as hell to deal with when she gets her game going. But I realize that I don’t have the mindset for that. I just want to hit you and have that shit be painful. And have that mixup or two in the pocket in case shit gets a little to real.

Dont worry I was aware of that:)
I was just commenting on Cynuous Kage combo video. I guess i shouldve quoted him to make it clear^^"

I haven’t played in a few days and I just went back to playing BlazBlue. Now I’ve had some rest from the game I’ll try to get some games in and learn some new stuff.

While yeah Jeffery has a lot of good damage and second heaviest character. Aoi has a lot of traps that she can throw out at disadvantage and great mind games(with all the fakes and 50/50 she can do off of hitconforms),but Frost is right some characters do work better for players than others so just play around and see what works for you.

And please don’t bring that tier mind set in this game again. It bums me out. Leave that in the divekick fighters where it belongs.

I love the fact that all the characters in Virtua Fighter have the same resources while being totally different from each other at the same time. No teleports. No fireballs. Everyone has a fighting chance.

Tiers are in VF. the game is balanced, but they exist. And actually if you follow most tier list, Aoi is above Jeffy (Jeff is often put in low tier). But it doesn’t matter. I have to be real with myself. I’m not an execution monster (my execution is bad). I’m not ballsy enough to just run mixups all day, and honestly I really want to hurt the shit out you anytime I touch you. I don’t want to spend all match hitting buttons and swinging for the fences. I just want to sit back, chill, and knock the living shit out of you if you let me. I personally am a cowardly ass person (I played Guile in SFIV for 4 years, played him in HF and ST for neary 16 years). Jeff has good range. I hate being on the other side of the screen with Aoi and knowing I have to go in because her range isn’t all that great. Aoi is really good for people who like to work. There are those people out there. I’m no stranger to her, been running her since VF4Evo. I only played on or two guys here and there (this is before netplay was popular). But now that I’m playing a lot of people online, I’m realizing that Aoi isn’t for me. And I feel "cheated’ by her low damage output. I really feel I had to mind game the fuck out of someone to only get like 65 to 70 damage. Not cool. Had to deal with it with Guile for 4 years, can’t deal with it again.
