It’s extremely hard to “play.” Two FS cabs outside of Japan.
UnCauzi shhhhhhhh, trying to blow my cover? You are a treasure chest of info EMX and remember someone may know squat about the game but still play decently. In other words, “Hammer don’t hurt em.”
You’re going to blow my whole “Vf isn’t hard motif” goddamnit.
Yeah, I mean, knowing something and being able to feel it out or apply it in a match isn’t always a 1:1 process. For a lot of good JP players they just feel it out and don’t need to sit there and dork out about frames from the vague anecdotes I hear. It’s only because they get the opportunity to put in 100x more time into playing any given matchup than we here in the US do. That isn’t nut-riding that’s just the truth. That obstacle isn’t insurmountable but the deck is pretty heavily stacked in just about any game you can think of.
Also the amount of detail I can just go into offhand about the game somewhat counter-intuitively fits your point about it being easy. The game has a consistency to it that you can start with any given move, and knowing what it does versus so and so character, move class, or what situation it leads to or whatever you can start to see why the char has it and when to use it. And then you have Wolf dropkicks, but those are fun. AM2 knows what that is guys, I assure you :wink2:
I know what you mean, I admit to giggling a little everytime I hit with Jeffrys 9K
The 10 foot buttslam, the running butt of doom, landing TKoD against people in awkward situations, landing stomps and pounces after splash mountain ( we’ve a special name for that throw here) and P+G because the stomps/pounces all track the rising animation in different directions, and that threat stance thing where he boxes their ears if they block it…ugh…Why does this game have a rep for being uncharismatic and boring?
It’s really fun imo, enjoy VF!!
Don’t forget chokeslams, iron claws, and HAHAHAHAHA TAKE THAT!
I dunno I like it. It’s got something for everyone, even trolls…Shun Di is sexy like that.
Sorry, I’m not really qualified to write an FS guide, because I don’t pay attention to frames that much. I just know data for the moves I need to know.
ex. What my 15 frame Taka headbutt can counter on block, etc.
That’s funny, you don’t know frames but you still win games?
Exactly.
I can’t tell if you’re kidding or not because I’ve gotten to an argument with someone saying frame data was “necessary”.
how much is the game gonna cost? cause I do wanna get into it hardcore.
Well, I can speak from personal experience that I’m not a huge frame data-knowing person except for basic stuff like throws or certain moves I just happen to know and I manage to win. Granted I could be worlds better though, but it goes to show that you can win by just playing smart or just playing hard.
Given it’s an XBL/PSN title at the moment, probably $10-15.
you know if itll be an add on or a full game download?
Cause you know that SEGA hates its fans.
It blows my mind that a game like this can be bought for this little. That’s a straight up steal. I hope you’re right.
Nope. The ports of Vanilla VF5 were not made with DL add-ons in mind.
No. You meant to say “Cause you know that CAPCOM hates its fans.”
lol Both of them do. just in different ways. But im glad that were FINALLY getting it. You think the netcode will be good?
Go to the previous page.
Yes yomipower, it’s possible. People do, in fact, learn several games without consulting frame data, including VF!
Y’know what yomipower I’ve tried being the heel, the villain, I’ve gotten short with you (quite justifiably I might add) but honestly at the end of the day I am sure you know better than to sit back and be a boring troll. Call me an idealist but maybe – just maybe – you need the right [S]bribe[/S] incentive!
So here’s what I’m going to call the scrub poster’s challenge from here on out: **Ask any 3 questions about VF and I will answer them for you, if and only if you stop threadshitting. ** Yes, I am offering to be your personal VF guru, if you just refrain from being a bad poster and noobing it up in this thread and subsequent SRK and VFDC (god help us if you actually register there) Virtua Fighter threads til the end of time!
Also here’s a little extra credit project for you: If you refrain from making bad posts and start making a good-faith effort to contribute useful posts, I cobble together a playlist on Youtube tailor-made FOR YOU about a character you want to play in VF5FS.
I am one fucking hundred per cent serious. This is my serious face:

Man, I am so excited for this game, you have no idea.
The last Virtua Fighter game I played was 4. I didn’t play 5 because I didn’t get one of those newfangled console thingies until much later. I can’t find the game where I’m at.
Then I heard about this update.
So a few questions, I remember an article about how if VF5 were to run online, it wouldn’t be 60 fps. So, since Final Showdown is going to have online play, will it not be 60 anymore? I don’t have a problem if it isn’t, just wondering.
Another question is that I heard this game would have to be in separate downloads so to speak. Like you download one part, and then download another. Would the parts be separately priced? Would one be priced, and the rest be free? Do we not know at this point?
The last part: never heard of. Most likely trolling since it sounds gay. The first part: Same thing. Offline VF5 is 60fps.
