Fuudo plays Lion, so it probably isn’t him.
Don’t forget Toe Kick into Stunner against crouching. (I think its still in FS).

so around closer to release you think Sega will get behind VF5FS and get it out there and try to promote the game? like going to tournaments and having playable builds at more tournaments before release? also on another note…i think SouthTown Arcade is going to get it…but im not sure yet…sega is literally down the street…
anyways i wanted to ask one general question and one question for everyone how post here consistently…
- is the tutorial mode in VF4 any different then VF4 EVO?
- what characters you guys use or will pick up in VF5FS? I will continue to use Kage/Eileen.
Considering they had arcade cabs at Gamescom when they announced it (That was the event right?) it seems like they might be putting in more effort to get this game into the community more. Fingers crossed they make a good effort to get the word out there.

From memory I don’t remember VF4’s tutorial being anywhere near as robust as VF4Evo’s. I can’t even remember if it had much of a tutorial actually. Just stick with VF4Evo it’s better in a lot of ways.

I’ll start out with Brad as that’s who I use in VF5 but everyone’s changed a lot so I need to look at them all again. Brad has probably changed the most in fact. There’s also new character Jean and the return of Taka who must play like a new character compared to his VF3 incarnation.
I’ll be playin Vanessa…She’ll probably be easy to relearn seein as she doesnt have a different stance with different moves, anymore.
In VF4Evo I liked using Jacky, so I plan to use him again. Favorite Bruce Lee/Jeet Kune Do inspired character hands down.
I was messing around with Goh and Vanessa a lot too. Both of them had some cool looking moves and throws.
I only had the computer to play against in Quest mode, but the training mode was really thorough and was almost able to do the advance tutorial.
I know I’ll be sticking with Wolf mainly, I’ve been using him and Jacky primarily since VF2 days. I have found that it’s harder to land throws with Wolf in VF5, it seems that moves don’t have as much recovery time as they used to which means theres a smaller window to block and counter with a throw. Or maybe I’m just playing better players. Either way I look forward to getting better with Wolf and learning his new tricks. I’ll also stick with Jacky as a secondary I think, but Goh seems like a really interesting character as well. I used him a bit in 5, but never got too deep into the character. He seems to have a good mix of heavy hitting strikes and some decent throws too. I would love to play as Brad as well, but I think I would need to put in a LOT of work to learn all his ins and outs, especially with all his movement options.
I think Brad is a difficult character to get used to but in a different way to say Akira is. Akira is technically very challenging but is relatively simple in terms of tactics/strategy while Brad I feel is almost the other way round. Trying to make full use of his sways, phasing turn and long ducking is tough against players who are used to Brad and yet there’s a lot of potential in those movements if you can move well, pick your moments and read the opponents habits.
VF5FS Brad should be much easier to use as he doesn’t have phasing turn and long ducking and he overall seems to have a greter range of options from fewer movements. I think his attacks are the same whether he’s slipping left or right too which is another thing you won’t have to think about.

I bet it would be easier to find match vids of the characters I want to see there than searching youtube.
Who are the big names at the tourney being streamed? I’m enjoying the matches and they are getting really hype.
