Whoa, very interesting. A new VF traditionally always goes on a new arcade board and with TTT2 coming out in the arcades over there they probably don’t wanna get left behind. If this is true I hope the arcade release is international this time especially after the way Sega were talking up China as a potentialy big arcade market now. Console release might depend on VF5FS’s success, the arcade hardware (too powerful for PS3/360?) and planned VF6 upgrades (like VF5R/FS).
This news may not be true at all but it could be the upcoming surprise L_A Akira was referring to on VFDC. He’s the one that said VF5FS was definitely coming to consoles over a year ago.

when you buy your copy of vf5fs and then watch the VF6 trailer you will sell all your shit and analyze the gameplay in preperation for the fuckingest fighting game your eyes had ever tasted
I predict VF6 (or an iteration after vanilla) will be a launch title for next gen, if they are coming out end of 2013, early 2014.
For Sega saying arcade becoming bigger in China. If Sega’s new arcade board is super expensive, will everyday China arcades get the game? Did they get AE? That was pricy as well.
I seem to remember that Sega doesn’t actually sell VF5 machines/boards, but rather they lease them to the arcade owners. I think it’s an effort to stop that issue of needing to pay a large lump sum to get the new arcade board, so it’s easier to upgrade to the latest games for arcade owners and have better cash flow. Problem is that also makes it harder/impossible for arcades outside of Japan to have the game. Not sure if this will be changing or make it more affordable for arcades in China.
I am currently in the process of acquiring a VSHG for this game. It really is the only stick I have ever wanted <3
O yea, I forgot about the leasing thing. I heard that is why VF fell of the american arcade map.
I really don’t like the NESCA model, or the leasing thing. Makes it hard to get the games outside Japan. But they cost so much, who can buy the board? Tough situation.
It will be interesting how Sega’s new hardware plays out.
