Nice vids TSC :tup: You should post more stuff of your own. By the way, could you tell me how you do those two karakusas’ with Makoto on that SA2 combo? I haven’t seen many players apart from you using that. Is it really hard?
I’ve uploaded two old videos from the French tourney. Golden Gunman is video’ing so you get to hear him and the crowd and it really does show the tournament pressure at that moment. The first is against a Ken player who took out my team mate and the second is against Yox which most of you have seen, but watch this for the crowd noise

Hey… hmmm, I am unsure as to what you are referring to in regards to the x 2 karakusa (command grab). Are you talking about the 100% stun combo (with kara-fukiage) or the SA2>dash DP>dash other way LP reset>dash back karakusa?
But yeah, just unsure which one you mean.:looney:

isn’t continuing to apply pressure = rushdown? i wouldn’t say rushdown is just playing straight up reckless. i think air hadous are a nice safe thing when you need to reformulate your game plan, and an excellent zoning move. they can really help with the rushdown tho, especially keeping people in the corners.
I’m guessing by rushdown he means “mindless, savage attacks”. Either it’s always important to be careful while rushing with Akuma and mindful of that stamina/stun.
TSC - sorry I got the names of the move wrong. When you land the SA2 and you start the HP,SA2, dash, dp (fukiage?) > but then you somehow land ANOTHER fukiage - thats what I’m asking about.
That first game against the Ken player - this was just me playing pure ‘by the book’ with some messing around. Ken is a bad matchup, so have to keep him away. Akuma’s ‘rushdown’ doesn’t work on Ken simply due to his dragon. Plus I had never played this guy before so no taking risks…
The KKZ finish was a stroke of luck. For some reason at that very moment rather than thinking BLOCK or parry, I just thought go for KKZ on wakeup. If it comes out I win, if not I lose. Classic moment when it came out :bgrin:

True Indeed.
I think the best style of play for akuma is to apply pressure (with air hados and what-not) and to keep your style of play formless. To repeat patterns very few times and to keep things random in a sense.
The game plan to me is to be completely random but effective at the same time. If that style is perfected, mastered, or made solid…then it is DAMN GOOD.
I just find it kinda annoying when cats keep saying “OMG U HAVE TO COMPLETELY RUSH with akuma!!!” It’s not about that. You gotta know who u *can *rush and who u shouldn’t dare to rush. **Naz **is right about Ken’s dragons.

I think you get full damage on the kkz since its a reset and doesn’t technically combo.
Do resets reset damage scaling?
I would test but I’m away at college and don’t have all my stuff. Anybody care to test it?
no they dont. generally you only get 38 damage from the kkz itself after the reset.
