Every once and awhile I’ll randomly search japanese websites, looking for any kind of videos they have on fighters. Sometimes, I’ll find some interesting shit. Ones that are so off the wall, you’d be surprised that people are actually playing them competitively. Only in Japan I guess. So I guess we could have a thread for this. Hopefully it will turn out interesting if other people feel like contributing videos or knowledge about these games.
Fighters Front Line has interesting stuff up. They have two videos of Eretzvaju, aka Evil Zone, which I really found exciting because I’ve looking for videos on game this for while now. I remember reading the SRK threads on this game, hearing how broken it is, so perhaps someone whose played it would like to explain why is the game so broken and what’s going on in the video?
On the same site there’s 6 combo videos of Advance Variable Geo for the Sega Saturn, including three match videos of a game called Angel Eyes, which I thought was another doujin fighter because the gameplay looks zany and the graphics are pretty bad, but it turns out that it was a fighter made by Tecmo in 1996.
I have a bit more stuff to post but I’ll do it later tonight. Much more strange than this.
-Garouden, some random 3D wrestling game. For the PS2.
-T?? ???, is that 2D fighter that’s in 3D, at the top of page. Also for the PS2. I’d really like to know what’s the story with this one.
Yeah, obviously this thread is going to be a once and awhile thing, cuz it’s real hard to find stuff.
Wow…that’s going to be real hard to top.
Anyway, I don’t know wtf the name of this game is, and I don’t plan on finding out. I seriously I can’t watch passed one round. Anymore would be torture for me.
I know since I’ve appeared here on SRK I’ve only talked about or defended the Obscure Fighters, but Kaneko’s Blood Warrior is like SF2, in that the first game Shogun Warriors, was like SF, Pure JUNK (poor control, no gameplay etc…) and it wasn’t until SF2 which Capcom improved the gameplay, mechanics and control, and everything else to make it was it is. All I’m saying is, Kaneko learned from their mistakes, and made BW alot better than the first.
when i played street fighter 1 mid lastyeari really enjoyed the game, its something youhaveto adjust to and its simple to adjust too, i gelled toitin one sitting, beat sagat, enjoyed every fight, every challenger in the game was a unique challenge which you’ll find in the essence of sf2’s competitive play
Now after watching more matches, yeah you’re right. Gameplay looks unbalanced, mainly that Turtle and Budda guy. Looks like the Turtle has an infinitie and the Budda guy has broken throw range.
Yeah, I usually don’t try to think of how people could make such messed games. Whatever the answer might be, all I know is it must of took the same kind of inspiration that it took to make garbage like Turn-A Gundam. Sorry, I can’t think of a videogame example right now.
Heh, I think they might have a scene for that game, because this isn’t the first tournament that they’ve thrown for the game. I first saw the videos on their site for that game around last November on their website.
Perhaps it shouldn’t be too much of a shock though. Heck, the well known arcade, Game 41 threw two Survival Arts tournaments last year, and sadly, it seems that the players seemed to know what they were doing. shakes head Sorry though, I don’t have the videos of it anymore. I deleted them immediately after I downloaded them.
