Video Games You Loved As A Child But Hate As An Adult

Robocop and Mission Impossible for the NES.

Robocop is down there with Tails’ Sky Patrol as the worst game of all time. >_>

Mario Party(s) - Waaaay too childish even for Mario standards when you’re an adult, and when you’re a kid it’s utterly boring unless you had friends to play it with.

Poke’mon - Haven’t kept up with this series at all after G/S. The most recent generation of Poke’mon all look very very uninspired.

WWF Warzone - I probably wouldn’t care to play it now, but it was fun back in the day even considering you had to do a damn MK fatality command just to do a Sweet Chin Music…and a weak one at that.

Croc and the Legend of the Gobbos - Hooooly shit. Played it for five minutes after I found it under my bed a year ago, and the camera was pretty shitty to say the least. I got reminded of how forgettable the game actually was when I first got my PlayStation.

Hate for what? Double Dash was the only decent Mario Kart game, and that’s only because manually drifting around tight turns was actually done right.

Though, if there’s one thing I can say about Mario Kart, it’s that bitches love it no matter which game it is.

Glover. I don’t know how I had the patience for that game, it was mystifying. But surprisingly I think I still enjoy a large majority of the games I played as a child, maybe not enough to pop them into the ol’ console but enough that I don’t really go “how could I have possibly played this?”

Also, this isn’t a hatred, but I am less willing/capable of playing hundred hour romps through virtual worlds. RPGs have become difficult for me to finish, I just don’t have the same time I once did, and it’s very disappointing.

Edit: wait, I’ve got something. All flash games ever. I used to play online flash games all the time, now I won’t touch the damned things.

you should try diamond and pearl dont play black and white

when I played as a kid = yes
Played it at maybe 12-13 = wtf?
Now = ffffuuuuuu

That’s how I feel about Wrestlemania: The arcade game.

Independence Day.

Cheetahmen. No, wait…I always hated that game.

This game was my introduction to the concept of balance in a competitive video game. And in this case, is was really unbalanced: DiBiase < Bigelo < HonkyTonk < Macho < Andre < Hogan. Vs. mode really sucked.

California Games. That game was dope when I was a kid, it’s lame as fuck now. Fuck that game.

@ me quoting SW then posting my reply within his quote. I’m too lazy to fix that shit, and I only just noticed it now. GGPO.

I couldn’t get past the first stage. Fuckin boulder.

Beauty and the Beast for the SNES.

I played it again recently and couldn’t last the first stage. The Beast has T-Rex arms and I can’t even kill a goddamn spider without getting hit.

Funny, my sis and I just had a convo about Ranma Hard Battle and we both missed playing it. Dunno why the hate but that game was the bomb.

none really. nostalgia makes it really hard to hate those games. and a lot of them were better than todays games because they were far more challenging.

Goldeneye 007. That game aged like shiiiiit.

Sokolov is ours. Now get out of here.

Mortal Kombat 1-4
