Damn, Skies of Arcadia was slow as fuck. Really fucking slow. I think that the last JRPG that I really enjoyed was Tales of Symphonia.

Believe it or not…I stared at this for a good 15 seconds before making the JackieChanmindfulloffuck.jpg pose.
That was not well written. I meant that the premise of the game itself was not bad, but I realize how poorly implemented it was. Especially sense it is associated with Sonic. Then I ask if this was a non-Sonic game, would my opinion be any different? I like the Sonic series, but not this part. (06’ is the game ruined this altogether. Thank goodness I didn’t buy that one).
there’s a lot of n64 games that have aged really poorly that I used to love. donkey kong 64 and banjo kazooie both are headache inducing for me now but I remember putting a lot of time into them when I was younger
Agreed I stopped playing it when it came out but beat it a year ago because it was on all these top 10 lists and I felt guilty for not beating it. It actually gets better half way and I think it was a good RPG for its time but yeah no more JRPG’s for me unless something dramatically changes.
Dreamcast I know the gamecube version looks better and has more discoveries and secret side quests.
The one of the main gameplay premises of that game was to give him( a character that can warp from place to place instantaneously with some restrictions without an emerald, has the ability to overturn buses with one hand onto people, move past the speed of sound, and the ability to throw energy projectiles) a gun and and vehicles to ride around him for platforming and riding around purposes. I don’t know about you but if I was writing this down on paper, it wouldn’t even get past the brainstorming phase of game development let alone pre-production.
I’d go on but that’d be going to far into ‘this should be in the sonic thread’ territory.
The old MK games
Nightmare Creatures, though a seauel woukd be awesome,
Fuck no it does not, the DC version still looks better somehow.
Joust for the Atari, play that shit now without hating it.
I can’t say I hate it now,but WTF was Bart’s Nightmare was all about,I never understood it:

Final Fantasy and jRPG’s in general.
They are great if you have a lot of time and not a lot of money to buy games, but they are kind of dull once you have gotten used to modern, non stop visceral violence gaming.
You’re the first one to say that lol, personally I think the new textures on the gamecube look better but to each his own I guess.
i really couldn’t hate any nes/famicom classic now. what i loved then, i still do today.
but…
those ranma fighting games for the sfc/snes
gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawd why did i even spend time on that shit.
Terminator 2 for the Super Nintendo.
God I was one fucking stupid child.
I see your point.
On another note, other games that I can not stand now as an adult are… Dragon Ball Z Budokai, arguably anything beyond Pokemon G/S/C, Mortal Kombat Armageddon (and DC Universe), and quite a few license based games.
Old Mario games where you have to hold a button to run. I always want to run, so this just leads to thumb cramping.
All the games I really liked aged well. My tastes as a kid must have been impeccable.

Actually, sport games in general are boring as fuck.

Godzilla on the NES, the one where it looks like a board game with pieces and after you take a turn it shifts to a side scrolling game with an endless barrage of shit being thrown at you. I used to beat this game over and over, no idea how I had the patience for it.
-
A lot of Sega CD games like Night Trap and Time Gal. Again, shitty games that I had way too much time to bother getting good at, or in this case memorizing locations and button prompts.
-
Original Zelda on the NES. I tried it a few years back on the GC and after the second dungeon I was bored out of my mind. Awesome at the time, but unplayable for me at this point.

Most of the classic side scrolling beat em ups like Turtles, Simpsons, X-Men, Captain commando, etc. I was super excited when these started getting released on this gen’s consoles and even last, but they simply have zero appeal for me now. I realized they are awesome memories, but should stay just that.
