The MGS2 OST’s, while brilliantly composed, suck ass because they dont contain most of the gameplay music, just the cutscene craps and some chopped and screwed mixes. I remember awhile back someone released the PC versions music files, and it ruled. Anyone know where I can find it?

And 3 of them arent even character/stage themes. It’s fucking ridiculous that Capcom and most others made such better music when they doing chip tunes with system or arcade board limitations. Every modern remix of an old theme sounds like ass.

  1. There is an RPG on the PS1. It has been so long… but all I remember is that when you pause/go to menu it switches to this bass-heavy theme. It doesn’t beat, it reverberates. I need a name if it sounds familiar. I remember the music exactly, but man there were too many RPGs on PSX.

Thinking about MvC3 music ended up with me putting together a personal tier list of my favoured character themes and stuff cuz I’m weird. C is as low as it goes since there’s no theme I particularly despise, but I do have my unfavourites.

Also, this made me want to play Bionic Commando Rearmed when I first heard it. I don’t think I got around to it though.

I was going to post about another KH2 theme that has to be included with my favorites that I posted a while back (post #2890), but I will do that later. Right now, I just want to focus on this gem of a theme in MM:

Just listen to that. Brilliant. It definitely should have been the final battle theme in the game. The drums + ominous sounds + Majora melody = gold. It is a slow and steady theme, but it brings tension and uneasiness which is what the game is all about. Probably the most overlooked theme in arguably the most underrated game of the series.

I haven’t gone through MM in over a decade and have completely forgotten about 90% of what happens on the quest, but the music has always stuck in my mind. It still gets under my skin a bit.
