wtf? how is any music “not real music”. This is like people that say electronic music isn’t real music because it doesn’t have lyrics. Just straight ignorance.
That right there is one of the reasons that anytime I’m listening to my playlists in my car with people or just anywhere for that matter I’m reluctant to tell anyone that it’s from a game. It seems people are interested in the music at first but as soon as I mention it’s from a game suddenly it’s all ‘errrr…THIS ISN’T COOL AT ALL! HARUMPH!’. Game music takes just as much work as any other genre to make it’s just the fact that it’s being made for a game…that’s it. That’s one of the things I really like is when old school game music gets rearranged with actual instruments since it really brings out the composition in a lot of the songs for people who can’t appreciate it as it was.

Whatever’s music to your ears is music. Shit, I still love Sonic The Hedgehog Green Hill Zone from the first game in 91 (probably the first game to make me love game music along with plenty of other nice Sonic soundtracks in the future to indulge). Then there’s the godliness that’s Yasunori Mitsuda who did the Chrono Cross OST (shoutouts to the Chrono Trigger one as well), Street Fighter EX+Alpha is arguably the best Street Fighter soundtrack ever made. On that note, I think Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter had the best OST in a Marvel game. Valkyrie Profile OST on the PS1 - Motoi Sakuraba really helped make the game feel as powerful and engaging as it actually was with the music alone. SNES’s F-Zero 1’s Sand Ocean track. I loved the bass in it even though it was ancient midi instruments. Cammy’s theme in Super Street Fighter 4 & HD Remix are the best (Diverse Vs Capcom’s is awesome, and I think it was made by the same person who did the SF EX music). Bayonetta’s Red & Black, and Splash Wave which was a remix from an old 1986 game are awesome. I love Dante’s theme Devils Don’t Cry and i’d blast and I still think everything about Streets of Rage 1 is better than Streets of Rage 2 especially the music. Even the MMOG Ragnarok Online had some truly epic music that I would hate to forget.

I’m still having problems hearing Twinrova’s theme that he snuck in. Definitely like the nods he made to the other versions of the song of time from Majora’s Mask. Not sure if I would have liked him to use the bell more or not in the beginning. Favorite part is definitely when he starts throwing in Bolero of Fire and onwards.
I personally always thought Capcom has a talent for making OST back in the 90s But now it isnt As impressive.even Tho some of the Sf4 themes are good but they dont seem to have put as much effort into themes like Yuki Iwai, Yuko Takehara. but hey my ipod is at 567 of Game music lol And Awesome i was looking for that NCR promo lol
