I’ve been playing DQXI since about 11 today. Decided to stop so I could eat dinner.
So much crazy shit has happened.
Summary

Jade being more or less your older sister by adoption
Rab revealing The Dark One’s true name
Rab revealing that the King of Heliodor was the one who ordered the attack that destroyed your parents kingdom and killed all of your family but Rab.
Hendrick and Jade knowing each other. I don’t know they’re relationship yet. I’m assuming they’re either brother and sister, childhood friends or he may be old enough to be her Uncle.
Then pretty much immediately after that you meet mermaid being so grief stricken about finding out the man she fell in love with is dead that she committed suicide.
Then you find out the man who she loved wanted to be with her but instead took care of the child of a woman he was supposed to wed but remarried that killed herself over her husband and father dying.
Shits depressing as fuck.
I legit shed a tear when Rab and Hero did the ritual where all the spirits of their people traveled back to Yggdrasil. Shit was so sad but so beautiful
He shouldn’t be climbing that mountain at all. He needs to understand that he’s done. There’s no coming back from plagiarism. He needs to move on to another career if he doesn’t want the negativity anymore.
They rebuilt it using the Mafia 3 engine and many of Mafia 3s glitches and problems made the jump. Wasnt devastating imo ( I liked Mafia III) but introduced issues to Mafia 2 that werent there previously, and generally a remaster fixes issues, not creates new ones.
My understanding is they aren’t going to. It’s part of why the fanbase is upset.
My knowledge is limited tho, been a while since I looked into it, I only followed when it first popped off. You may find different/ better news if you look into it. I don’t really know.
DQ11 is honestly godlike. I’ll have to do a second playthrough with Dragovian Trials next time, IMO the game is a little bit too easy at times, outside of a couple bosses
I can’t wait for DQ12 however
