Video Game General v8.01D : PC Gaming Golden Age, Big Box (Part 1)

I didn’t feel that way. Though the video could have been better if she cut down on talking about the gameplay. The story and characterization is what makes the game bad. Getting to the meat and potatoes sooner would have been best.

That’s what I mean about cutting the fat. A couple subjects like the gameplay go on a little long. I got the point time to move on to the next issue. Not a huge deal just a minor critique. I love her stuff.

RE7 scared the FUCK out of me! I couldn’t finish it, lol. Playing in a dark room by myself with a great headset wasn’t the best idea. That game would be better suited with a couple buddies passing the controller over some beers.

Ironically, I would argue the only RE games that are actually scary are the first and last ones.

7 was the only one I played. No, I played the one that had the chick Ashley in it. I think it was ported to the Wii and that’s what I played it on. Definitely not scary. But 7 was fucked up.

Yeah, like you I had to play that game in chunks.

The only other game I’ve had to do that for is Dead Space 1. I don’t know if you ever played those games but I think you’d dig the first one if you like RE7.

I intend to go back and finish someday, but at this point I’ll probably restart on the PS5 since it’ll be free, and the copy I played was lent to me.

Never played Dead Space. I’m typically not too into the horror genre, but RE7 came highly recommended. And I’m interested in 8 when it gets released.

I actually found RE7 to be funny and not scary. I also think it’s the worst mainline RE next to RE0, and that’s saying a lot. The change to the first-person camera was gimmicky as hell fam, watch out for the BOO jump scares.

@Million-X Logged into my Blizzard account after…god knows how many years. The D3 expack costs 50 bucks(wtf) and the Necro costs 15-20 bucks(wtf.)

Yeah, if I come across The Eternal Collection again I’ll pick it up just to try out the Necro. I have the Reaper edition on PS4 and that was the last time I played the game. If I do grab The Eternal Collection it’ll be cool to see the changes since the last time I played.

More video card speculation. Supposed Big Navi specs are out on TechPowerUp’s GPU database, and they look to beat RTX 30 on both memory (more RAM) and clockspeed.

This is the rumor I heard as well, and it makes sense for NVidia to rush out their 3000 line.

AMD comin’

Oh yeah, present-day Diablo 3 is a far superior game to the original, pre-expansion D3. Just about every aspect of it is better, imo… and the necromancer is one of my favorite, top-pick characters to play; skeletal mage summons, blood-magic abilities, cool passives, a golem (which is cool but I rarely use it anymore), cool teleport “blood rush” ability, etc.

…oh.

This will fuck Epic case hardcore.

I actually think the opposite, specially now that more companies are comming foward in support to them like Spotify, and the like.
A jury, specially on this kind of cases is a rock thrown in the dark, they know shit about the law, they can be easily swayed if you appeal to their emotions.

Thanks, I wasn’t 100% on track on what you meant back there.
Thanks for the clarification.

I also own a MVS board, built my own super gun and a large box of games. Some MVS are $30 and some are $500, it depends on how popular the game was and how many of that cart was made. There plenty of Metal Slugs out there, but good luck finding beat up and grungy Mark of the Wolves that isn’t a bootleg under $280.

Yeah I know, 50 games in a bar top cab for $500 is not bad.
I got my self a MiSTer and I got access to the whole library with machine accuracy.

There 50 titles on that cab, the Arcade 1UPs usually have one game, some of the newer ones have 3.
Plus the materials that are used are of better quality than the 1ups.

That would be the Judge’s role to play, to inform the jury where their obligations are and what they need to know and to apply guidelines.

Epic is not on the judge good side

Given how much of Epic campaign is dependent on Fortnite fans to lend support a jury would have been beneficial to Epic.

Here hoping Epic gets burned bad.

I liked that we could trade in vanilla D3 and I loved how broken the Barb was early on(permanent Wrath of the Berserker so you’d avoid all forms of crowd control, on top of permanent whirlwind was fun times.) I’d cleave through acts —> Hammer of the Ancients for single target.

He got swatted hard though, now you need to grind out the azz for some set pieces to give you rage generation or something so you can keep Whirlwind up forever but it doesn’t look as hype because there’s no permanent Wrath of the Berserker anymore. I think even PS3/360 versions of vanilla D3 are far ahead enough that this was patched out, but I can’t remember.

The last time I played was through Reaper on PS4. The last act was kind of ehhh, so much of it visually looked the same. It was fun for a little while though, I had a Barb and Crusader but man the Crusader feels like a ghetto Paladin to me. I know the Necro can’t summon nearly as many minions as he can in D2, but if I can basically play him as a Mage on crack that’ll be fun for sure. I preferred the magic/poison based Necros in D2 compared to pure summoners(damage wasn’t there compared to other classes, but a Bone or Poison Necro had amazing mobility, was a king of PvP and was just fun to play as.)

yeah Necro has quite a few options… and some summons stay out on the field permanently; the regular skeletons and the golem… there’s a new set now that lets your “Simulacrum” (a clone summon; looks like a skin-less body or skeleton version of yourself; it duplicates certain abilities) stay out there permanently too. He can also do some insane damage… the big thing fans complained about the survivability… he seems easily killed compared to the others… I think this may have changed as well with the new set and certain things from the latest patch. I also enjoy the character since he’s the closest thing to a playable vampire we’ll ever see in this franchise, most likely. (Demon Hunter as well but to a lesser degree)

*oh yeah–there’s also a “raise dead” kind of ability, so that’s more minions that can be following necro around. Unfortunately the re-animated corpses of enemies are only temporary…but with the constant monster-killing going on in this game, obviously there’s always more to add to your re-animated corpse army! The floating skeletal mages are my preferred minions, but they are also a temporary thing.

There’s sets that focus Necro as Bone or Poison build sort of thing…and another one that focuses on blood magic abilities…but there’s also the “Legacy of Dreams” legendary gem that gives you a huge bonus in damage and defense for not having any set items equipped…a brilliant idea that opens up the build potential to more things.

edit–one ability that’s kinda cheap— one rune for bone armor makes Necro completely invincible, btw… but only for 5 seconds. Still, that’s 5 seconds of real immunity to everything. Default cooldown on this is 45 seconds, but of course that can be lowered…it’s one of those abilities where it almost feels like I’m cheating the game.

Almost done with Mario 64.
Anyone else feel like that game’s fun-ness is a perfect bell curve?
First 20 or so stars are you getting used to/remember the movement and momentum, next 30-40 are pure bliss, everything after that is just fighting the shitty camera and later levels to just see the game through?
