I used a Monk skill like that for my Hardcore playthrough on PS3 for the trophy. You pop a golden bubble and your damage immune for a little while. You can also straight up pause the game if you think you’re going to die as well, it made hitting level 60 really easy. I did it again on PS4 but I think I used a Crusader to hit 70 on Hardcore.
I don’t find this particular Path of Exile league all that fun, and because of that I want to hit my backlog(I should probably finish Contra: Rogue Corps. I’m right at the end. You’d like it as a Dead Nation fan) or maybe I’ll play something random on the ol PS2/PS3.
It’s not Diablo but you can be a Vampiress in Sacred 1
Isn’t that most Mario games though? The last 1-2 worlds are almost always difficult. I loved Mario 64, the only real level I remember being annoying is the one in the sky while you ride that platform around the level. Slip up even just a bit and you die.
oh yeah, that’s one of Monk’s coolest abilities, though it also only lasts a couple of seconds… 2 by default if I recall… 3 if you use a certain rune. It also just looks cool because Monk’s skin becomes shiny gold while it’s active, and you have perfect immunity to all damage and control-impairing effects… Witch Doc also has the “spirit walk” which achieves the same thing… but since you’re in “spirit form” it also allows you to walk right through summoned magic stone walls/barriers.
I had Sacred 2 on the 360, but it’s been forever since I played that… I remember the “Shadow Warrior” was my character on that one. That game was a mixed bag for me… I loved the concept and most of it…BUT it was tough to get past that terribly dated style of presentation where the enemies barely react to your damage. Enemy characters should always have some kind of reaction to a player character damaging them…when they just stand there it just looks silly…really, it looks like lazy design, imo…like the animators just didn’t want to bother creating “taking damage” animations for the monsters…I hate that. That sort of thing should only happen when the monster in question has a “super armor” effect going on, or it’s currently invincible for some reason.
hahaha I just remembered—the other one I had was an “Inquisitor” I think, and he could summon this giant demon called “Ker”… and I summoned him in town or next to some friendly character just to see what would happen since it was listed as a being that’s dangerous even to the summoner-- the ally with me was like “You summoned that thing HERE?!?” Absolute chaos and terror ensued and yeah eventually Ker killed me too.
Does Among Us look like complete garbage to anyone else? It looks like a throwaway Flash game you’d see on Newgrounds.
Streamers made it popular. It wouldn’t have taken off otherwise. No damn way.
Lack of any kind of hitstun/damage animation really, really bothered me in Skyrim. Fallout 3/NV was the same if I recall…monsters barely move an inch when you hit them, there’s no “impact” to anything you do.
PoE nails this though. You can stun enemies(with a SF-esque dizzy animation) chill/freeze them solid(and they shatter into gibs) ignite them with fire(this one is obvious) you can bleed enemies, poison them, and even certain skills/auras/effects allow you to EXPLODE enemies on kill so they just turn into bloody gibs. Action games and brawlers also always do this well too. Ninja Gaiden…bruh I just sliced your arm or leg off.
yeah I also don’t get why Among Us is so popular suddenly…it’s also a game that’s been out for about 2 years apparently (something I didn’t know until a vid popped up also asking “why is Among Us suddenly a thing?”)… now as of a few weeks ago everyone is streaming that and making youtube vids on it.
Skyrim is an oddly inconsistent thing with the hitstun from what I remember—there’s times I remember enemies actually reeling back from an attack, actually.
Among Us doesn’t need better graphics then it has to be honest. Everythinf is about the human interaction and susing out the imposters while staying alive. Its fun and if we got SRKers together to play this simple 5 dollar game it’d be hilarious.
Played my first online match of Puyo Puyo Champions!
Got fucking ANNIHALATED. Person I was playing was stacking chains, where it stopped calling out numbers and went to “COBALT”. I was excited to see people online. I think this only happens in the morning. All the rooms were from Japan, but our connection was great. I was on Switch in handheld mode.
Played some Tetris 99 as well last night. That’s a fun one. I really hope PuyoPuyo x Tetris 2 catches on ( I doubt it). It’s the best of both worlds…AGAIN!!!
EDIT: Just decided to check out the Steam charts since that avenue is available now. It looks like there’s people on PPxT chin rub
I didn’t know Among Us been out for a couple years already, but I played it a few times with people I know. These games are fun, but I feel you need to apply rules with your group if you’re using voice. Like everyone gets 20 seconds. Sometimes you got mofos who talk for the whole duration of voting discussion telling their story.
