Reminds me so much of Muramasa The demon blade for the Wii. So pumped. Comes out in October right? They doing any kind of LE or CE for it?
What’s raytracing? I looked at some pics but, its like a minimal lighting effect maybe?
It’s basically a far more accurate lighting effect that is very processor intensive. Most of the “ray-tracing” in games are only partial implementations and depending on how it’s used it barely noticed by the layman. The best uses of it I’ve seen are in the preview builds of Gran Turismo 7 and the new Forza games. Cars have a lot of reflective surfaces so the improvements of ray tracing are far more noticeable IMO.
Muramasa The Demon Blade. It got a re-release on Vita with a much better translation and dlc.
Wiki says
In 3D computer graphics, ray tracing is a rendering technique for generating an image by tracing the path of light as pixels in an image plane and simulating the effects of its encounters with virtual objects.
I knew it was re-released for Vita but I never owned it when I had a vita. At least I don’t think I did?
Oh fuck yeah, now we’re talking
I mean, it literally says in the Famitsu interview that they’re sacrificing resolution to get 60fps.
What’s in that deluxe pack?
Arcade perfect versions of Gradius 1&2.
For VGM Friday I think my theme will be quite obvious.
This track right here, soooo goood.
You almost there, its is just lighting effects. That all Raytracing is, stupidly realistic lighting effects. And they take particles in consideration. They are supposed to be the next gen level of parallel number crunching to calculate how the sun (or what ever light source) would illuminate a source with what ever in in between the light and the surface, air, smog, dust, water, rain ect.
Some people say it’s more to it that than, but it’s just Lighting effects, Light effects that make a $2500 graphics card fail to run games at 60 fps, the same cards that easily handle 4k, 60 FPS 244 fps on multiple monitors with no issues. With Raytracing that same performance drops to 40 fps.
If they scale the resolution down to 1440P then that’s great. That should be the resolution target on console for 60FPS.
Why? Most tv’s are still 1080p.
When I walk into a Best Buy most of their TVs are definitely not 1080p.
Anyway, It’s a stopgap. It’s higher than 1080p and more practical for performance than 4K.
