It’s called “Yuffie Warping” and it involves a bunch of not-so-complicated shit that your goddamn lizard brains struggle to comprehend, but just remember that she makes it all possible. SHE LITERALLY BENDS TIME AND SPACE TO CHANGE THE STORY! EVEN HIRONOBU SAKAGUCHI CAN’T STOP HER!

For those unfamiliar; as you go through the game you get various types of seeds to plant in a flower pot of sorts at the various Inns and certain locations. The more seeds you plant the higher in levels the pot grows til max level (5). The higher level the seed the more xp the item pot gets. The higher tier of seed the better the items that bloom from the item pot. These items can be everything from simple healing items all the way to your characters final equipment.
I just dumped a bunch of gold seeds (second highest tier) and got a shit ton of great equipment. So naturally I wanna find a good grind spot so I can get even more amazing gear. Lol but apparently the best grind spot for the gold and highest tier seed, the rainbow seed is in the post game dungeon.
So back to clearing the main game for now. I’m pretty sure I’m almost done with this play through. Like I mentioned the other day I’m already racking my brain about who the next character my protagonist will be for my new game+.
Overall my one major complaint about Trials of Mana though; the pacing of the story is kinda awful. It feels incredibly disjointed. I get why it feels that way due to how you choose characters but it’s so jarring. At times it feels like there is no ebb and flow at all. It just feels like people threw darts at sticky notes most the time. That said, again, I’m having a fucking blast playing it.
I tried out a couple of Ranked vs. matches tonight on Gears… actually managed to get some kills so I was having fun at least most of the time. That King of the Hill mode is the best shit, man… it’s chaos going on all the time… LOTS of killin’ + that simple, classic objective of capturing zones for points.
I’m pretty sure I’m close to being done with my initial play through of Trials. I have 3 more of the big baddies to beat and then I think 1-2 more dungeons that lead to the main antagonists. I’m in the mid-60’s level wise so I gotta be getting close.
I don’t know who my companions will be but I’m likely going to pick one of my companions, Reizs or Hawkeye as my main protag on the new game+ and I’ll keep that trend with each subsequent play through.
So much shit carries over to new game plus so I have a feeling each subsequent play through will be shorter and shorter. Especially since I unlocked the perk of getting a chance to get x3 XP every battle.
Yeah this is a slap fight for a slightly better deal or the ability to sell stuff by their own terms on Epic’s part and Apple just wants stuff to stay the same because it is all in their favor.
They are both going to be fine and very little will come out of this unless you are a developer.
