Acting as if I have an unlimited amount of money and I buy all these games and that is not even the case. When I want something I save up for it simple as that.

As for the the sale not already counting that is a lie. What would happen if everyone said that?
What would happen if every time I went to gamestop I seen a used game and bought it because I said “Oh the game is there the sale isn’t gonna count anyways”?

But you speak as if you have that much money. That is why it’s annoying.

I suppose I didn’t use small enough numbers.
Say you have 4 cars you wanted to sell. They are all the same make, model and year. It costs $15,000 to make, but you sell it for $20,000
I buy one of them from you. Later on I sell it to my friend for $13,000

You say "What the fuck! How come he didnt come buy a car from me!?"
I say “Well I sold it to him for less money because he couldnt afford the original price that you were asking for”

Sure he couldve saved up to buy one from you. That does make some sense. But by the time he had enough, he may not be interested in that type of car anymore. Then there is also the fact that he might not have deemed your car worth that much of his money in any situation.

Ive done that with video games and other things many times. I wanted to get Black Ops2, but did I buy it full price? Fuck no. Not after what i thought of MW3 and BO1. I wasnt sure they would be giving me something that was worth that much money. So i bought it at a lower price.
I watch Netflix on my Dad’s tv sometimes. But would i buy a subscription myself? Fuck no. Theres only or two shows on there that i like and Im almost finished with them. The price id have to pay isnt worth the few hours out of the month that id use it.

Back to the analogy. If my friend bought the car from me at a lower price, it doesnt benefit you because you didnt get the money. But he didnt think it was worth that much. As a result of that it also doesnt hurt you because how much it cost you to have that car built, was already covered and paid for by me, the original owner. I paid you for that car specifically. I also bought the right to do whatever the fuck I want with it, as it no longer belongs to you. What i choose to do with it is my business, simple as that. You never had a chance of making that sale anyway because he did not want to pay 20 grand. You did not benefit, but you also did not take a loss. It would be a loss if I stole the car from you then sold it, because you never got income to cover the production of the car or the few thousand in profit.

But if you put an engine in your car that implodes when someone other than the original tries to drive it, i would never have bought it in the first place, because i cant sell it or trade it.

Annoying? I’m not insulting anyone in my posts. Why should they care about the people who are not contributing to the profit? Is what I said and I’m eating insults without a reason to be against it. It is true right? If you weren’t giving them profit why would it matter that you stay or not?

A car is a necessity- saving thousands.
A video game is a Luxury- saving tens. If you’re gonna splurge then do it. There is saving money and then there is doing it to save a quick buck.
These analogies are complete ass and do not relate to what we’re talking about, implodes when someone else tries to use it? All they’re asking for compensation, they’re not saying its unusable.
The price isn’t even stated yet. It could be 3 bucks and people would still complain about it.
I don’t even care if you buy games used but don’t get mad when they find a way around it to get some of the money they earned.

There is a reason i didnt include why the car was being bought. Necessity has an impact on things and it wouldve complicated the analogy.

Yes, cars and video games arent related, but the ways they can be bought, sold, traded, and used to turn a profit are somewhat similar. If you werent retarded and so up your own ass about being the guy who disagrees with the thread for the sake of disagreeing, you mightve seen what i was talking about. Actually i wouldnt have had to make the analogy at all. Like i said, I didnt use small enough numbers. Debating with you goes nowhere so ill just stop it here

Its funny because you were the one who flagged my posts and stated that you disagree with what I’m saying and yet supplied no evidence as to why it is wrong. No, instead came up with analogies that have nothing to do with why what I said was wrong and continued with insults for no reason. Saying I understand why they’re doing it with supporting ideas and then have people say nope you’re wrong, insult, flag with no reason why is idiotic.

Back on topic, more details about used game fee has surfaced

Even with all of the official information made available earlier today, there are still lots of questions and confusion surrounding the newly-announced Xbox One. Concerns whether or not the system needs to be always online in order for games to be played or exactly how the console will handle used games have been some of the many questions at the forefront of gamer’s minds in the wake of the Microsoft meeting. As a result, we’ve compiled the available details to help sort out what’s what.

Concerning used games, Wired reported earlier that game installation to the HDD would be mandatory and that the disc would be tied to a single Xbox Live account. Any additional accounts using the same disc would have to pay a fee. A Microsoft representative speaking to Polygon has issued a statement to say used games would be supported by the Xbox One.

“Xbox One’s support for used games and these other scenarios may not look like they have on previous console generations, and that’s what we’ll be explaining as soon as we’re able,” Microsoft tells Polygon.

Phil Harrison of Microsoft, speaking to Kotaku, got a little more specific by explaining that each game would require a one time activation code to install, included when you purchase an Xbox One game. Once the game is installed via a code, which is tied directly to an XBL account using the internet, the game can be played on that account as well as other users on the same console. A game will not have to be purchased multiple times within a family. “It sits on your harddrive and you have permission to play that game as long as you’d like,” Phil Harrison states.

The kicker here is that if you want to play that game disc on your friend’s Xbox One, a fee will be required. That fee will cost you the same price of the game itself. “Think of it like a new game,” says Phil Harrison. “The bits that are on that disc, you can give it to your friend and they can install it on an Xbox One. They would then have to purchase the right to play that game through Xbox Live.”

So if a game needs a one time activation code and has to sit on your HDD, how is that going to work with players who like to trade their games in?

“We will have a solution — we’re not talking about it today — for you to be able to trade your previously-played games online,” Harrison says.

Kotaku speculates that how this system will work is that players will be able to trade in their activation code online, thereby deactivating the game from their console for some type of credit like MS Points. It sounds pretty confusing and not very consumer friendly, and I’m sure GameStop will not be happy if this is what Microsoft is proposing concerning the future of the now lucrative used/trading games industry.

Additionally, Microsoft has posted a Q&A concerning top questions being thrown around, including backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games. Well, the lack of backwards compatibility anyway, as the Xbox One will not play Xbox 360 games.

In any case, some of your concerns about the Xbox One may be answered in the following Q&A issued by Microsoft:

Q: Does Xbox One require an “always on” Internet connection?
A: No, it does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet. The delivery of TV is complex and we are working through the many technologies and policies around the world to make live TV available where Xbox One is available.

Q:    Xbox One is a more powerful product compared to Xbox 360, but does it also use more power?
A:    No. By providing multiple power states in Xbox One, we’ve balanced energy efficiency with functionality. We’ve taken a completely different approach to how Xbox One consumes power. It only uses the power it needs at that particular moment for the task at hand.

Just got back…trying to get caught up on stuff…

There’s going to be a good chunk of games on the system where the Wii U pad is an option but it’s actually quite useful. I don’t have to use the pad for Monster Hunter BUT I like having the TV clear of all healthbars, maps, and what not. I play MH with the Wii U Pro pretty much period. I take my Wii U to someone else’s place? I don’t even need a TV…I can just use the Wii U pad as a monitor if I want too. shrugs Not every game will be like that of course but the Pad has good uses…don’t dismiss it yet.

Oh yeah I almost forgot…I went into work today and it’s just this really interesting predicament now. Gamestop seems to be pretending like Microsoft doesn’t have that anti second hand market stuff on their console. They had all that other information on it but it’s like that went completely ignored and they still expect us to push it just as any other console. I’m standing at work feeling weird as shit over it. And then to make it even more weird, I had a guy come in on his break…from Wal-Mart. We work right in front of one, and he came in and was like asking me questions and stuff like going ‘so is it really true!?’ and picking my brain over it. After telling him everything and telling him how everything worked, it’s like it finally set in on him…I could see it in his face. You’ve seriously delivered one hell of a deal breaker Microsoft…I’m quite interested to see how you pull this one off.
