Xbox One: Mainstream Media Reacts... Are We The 20%?
It's bizarre. On my twitter feed, in the Kotaku comments and from what I've heard from people involved in the games industry, the reaction the Xbox One...
^ Sir…You are quite slow…
That’s it. It’s official. Microsoft just killed Xbox in the long run. Everyone can go home now.
I don’t remember anyone posting something about this in this thread.
It’s going to use it’s cloud service to get more powerful over time by offsetting stuff to it. Soooo that could mean that if you don’t have internet then your game may not run as well as someone who does.
Damn Pavy you’re slow…

That’s nice, but it’s not enough to get me to buy a Wii-U: Oh yeah here’s some clairification stuff from the shitstorm of stuff today:
On the topic of online connections, Kotaku reports that while the Xbox One doesn’t have to be online all the time, it does have to be online. A Q&A on Microsoft’s press site reads, “no, it does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet.” Speaking to corporate vice president of Microsoft Phil Harrison, Kotaku Edior-in-Chief Stephen Totilo learned that “for single-player games that don’t require connectivity to Xbox Live, you should be able to play those without interruption should your Internet connection go down,” said Harrison. “Blu-ray movies and other downloaded entertainment should be accessible when your Internet connection may be interrupted. But the device is fundamentally designed to be expanded and extended by the Internet as many devices are today.”
In an update, Polygon was said to have learned that “while Phil [Harrison] discussed many potential scenarios around games on Xbox One, today [Microsoft has] only confirmed that [they] designed Xbox One to enable [their] customers to trade in and resell games at retail.”
Related to the topic used games, Xbox Live’s Larry “Major Nelson” clarified further on his blog “while there have been many potential scenarios discussed, today we have only confirmed that we designed Xbox One to enable our customers to trade in and resell games at retail.” He also clarified further on the subject of playing games at a friend’s house. He said, “another piece of clarification around playing games at a friend’s house – should you choose to play your game at your friend’s house, there is no fee to play that game while you are signed in to your profile.”

Niggas sleeping on Nintendo.
I almost did that this gen. Glad I woke up. Some of my all time best gaming experiences were on the Wii.
I don’t want to play games with a tablet.
Then don’t?
There’s going to be a good chunk of games on the system where the Wii U pad is an option but it’s actually quite useful. I don’t have to use the pad for Monster Hunter BUT I like having the TV clear of all healthbars, maps, and what not. I play MH with the Wii U Pro pretty much period. I take my Wii U to someone else’s place? I don’t even need a TV…I can just use the Wii U pad as a monitor if I want too. shrugs Not every game will be like that of course but the Pad has good uses…don’t dismiss it yet.

The kicker here is that if you want to play that game disc on your friend’s Xbox One, a fee will be required. That fee will cost you the same price of the game itself.

I’m sure this move will not please Gamestop. It kills the secondary market for physical Xbox One games. They might give PS4 and Wii U a bigger push as those consoles will have a secondary market they can still take advantage of.
I feel like someone needs to make a picture of the Alien guy and at the bottom it says ‘We’re not saying it’s always online…but it’s always online’
Mainstream media seems to like the XboxOne just fine It's bizarre. On my twitter feed, in the Kotaku comments and from what I've heard from people involved in the games industry, the reaction the Xbox One...

Please add Vanessa, oh god please please add Vanessa! Vanessa Lewis and La Mariposa in the same game would literally make me explode in my pants from all the hype.

It really annoys me because it COMPLETELY kills video games that are no longer in a production run in the factory.
“Hey! Remember that game you wanted to play 2 or 3 years ago but never got around to it? Well now you have the time right? But ooooh, tough luck kiddo, they dont make those anymore!. Looks like you’ll have to buy a used one. OH YEAH! Remember our used game policy? BUY THE GAME TWICE YOU FUCKING MAGGOT”

yeah I mentioned xbox one updating in another thread, it’s basically in the same situation as wii u or you could say its the medium binding wii u and ps4. also remember powerful is a very useful word due to its disguised ambiguity, mark cerny was talking about ps4 becoming more powerful over time aswell (through developers understanding of hardware) which will bring out graphics close to deep down, quantic dream head and final fantasy tech demo, this is without relying on cloud so you dont need to be online
Did anyone ever mention about uh…say Xbox One makes it through 5 years and Microsoft comes out with another system. If they turn off the servers for Xbox Live for Xbox 1 will you be able to have access to your games or will it just being connected to the internet suffice? Having games downloaded onto the hardrive is one thing but if I all of a sudden 10 years from now want my kids to play something that I played and OH…NOPE…can’t play it since xbox live for the system ain’t there no mo.
will you be able to have access to your games or will it just being connected to the internet suffice?

You already know the answer to that
Once the servers are down you can no longer play your Xbox one games; unless you get the Xbox one two, now with free lube for the ass fucking MS will give you.

Crytek is ready for XboxOne and studios using it CryEngine 3 are already prepared. CryEngine 3 will support Microsoft’s newly-revealed Xbox One and studios using it are "equipped to start creating software for the system now."

Crytek and Epic will be at each others throats this gen.
Hope they tear each other apart.
I guess it’s no surprise now that EA eliminated their online pass system, they knew Microsoft was going to institute an online pass system console wide, and for the entire product so EAs system was redundant at this point.
They should drop the E, just call it Xbox On
