Yeah, Hit probably has the single easiest TOD in the game now. Literally 3 hits. All you need to land is standing H too, and his standing H is super good anyway.
Lord Frieza has been getting some tasty combos too…
This is my biggest problem in fighting games. When I can’t get something to work even tho I know it works and am “doing it right” I get serious tunnel vision and just keep trying it over and over. Really dumb. Like I’ll just stop playing the other person cuz I’m so fucking annoyed that the thing I want to do isn’t working and just hunker down and do it till it works…or I lose…usually lose lol.
That is one of the biggest hurdles in fighting games a lot of the times. Doing in practice or against a computer doesn’t mean you can do it in a vs. or tournament setting.
It’s the biggest issue I had, at least. I could do ROM to corner into unmashable tempest from almost any set up in MvC2 with no issues in training mode or vs. computer but I’d fall apart at gatherings and tournaments.
Same with certain links/cancels in 3S (B+MK xx super with Ken was a big one) or certain roll cancels in CvS2 (RC Electric, specifically)
There are dozens of other instances I could mention but the ones I mentioned stick out the most since they were what I played competitively the longest.
Yup. You spend a few hours practicing that one thing, or maybe a new character, and then you take that stuff into a real match and get fucked because you’re too busy trying to actually apply the shiny new tech you just learned.
It’s all worth it for that first moment you actually pull it off tho. That feeling is like, the biggest reason fighting games feel good. The hard work you put in becoming validated in real matches.
