Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

Doesnt matter how good it was because the majority walked away disappointed that it was only half a game and thats all that matters when it comes to IPs public perception. I like DMC4 a good deal but many do not.

DMC4 fans playing it for 10 years is the minority.

DMC4 had the unfortunate tale of going through a development hell, which is precisely why why we got only half of the campaign. Rushed out the door too soon.

I have said it before, somewhere so I will say it again. DMCV is a surprise hit for Capcom.

Much like Octopath Traveller and the original Bravely Default were ones for Square Enix, DMCV was sent out to do ok and hit what they thought was the minimal fanbase, it out performed their expectations.

But due to it doing so well, they were not prepared to continue to support it after the follow up patches they had planned. The team has probably been broken apart and moved on. We will need to wait for a SE or enhanced 4K remaster on the next gen before they do anything outside of a sequel.

I remember when I got the bootleg of the Thrill Kill beta, and then a while later the full version was leaked as well. Other than the gore, that game was pretty damn shitty.

Itā€™s not like I didnā€™t try, lol. The only time I could land hits was using a parry to throw a dude in the crowd, or chase the boss and hitā€™em twice before I was surrounded like a chick in an amateur gang bang video.

If I try to swing on ANYONE in the crowd thinking, Iā€™ll at least one and go from there, nope. Even the AOE attack of Square, Triangle wasnā€™t helpful. Iā€™ll go back to it when I have waaaay more heat bars though. Itā€™s definitely a fight where you arenā€™t looking at the enemies, just the top-right corner of the screen to see if a Heat Action is ready to pop.

No joke, shit reminded me of one of those Mario Maker levels were enemies are just vomited and you either make it (and not know how) or you donā€™t (and you know why), lol.

RE: Yak 5

Iā€™m going to lose A TON of time on the taxi driver job. Likeā€¦A LOOOOT. I can already tell. Met some cool peeps and just saved at one of the story beats. Canā€™t wait to grub and get power levels.

The jump in graphics was pretty huge too. Wasnā€™t expecting that. Now that I got a taste of Yak 5, Iā€™m going back to Yak 4 for the hostess mini-games to do the other songs.

EDIT: Booted up Yak 4 and I still donā€™t have a lot of necessary moves for Tanimura. The boss fight is gonna be gross either way, but there was no way, it was going to take anything less than an hour (at best) with where I was currently at, lol.

What they need to do is Reboot DMC again, but this time make Dante fat, bald, and clumsy.

Also make him uncharismatic as possible.

1st, is not comparable
2nd, you are commiting 2 logical fallacies there.

Pretty sure thaty most of the people complaining dont buy most of the DLC that DOA6 has.

In fact, a lot of people complain about the fact that DOA6 has this much DLC, which imo, outside the tickets for changing hair color, which is stupid, is reasonable, is a product that they put out there for those who want to buy it that is made post launch.

Dunno about that.
I know a lot felt it was a wasted potential, but at the end of the day the game sold really well, and is still really liked for its gameplay by the majority of the fanbase.

I would arhue that more people were pissed about Nero than the fact that the game had a lot of backtracking on the 2nd half.

it really is quite a shame who owns the Castlevania IPā€¦ any other company would more than likely see the popularity of the Netflix series as a perfect opportunity to get a new game out there, capitalizing on that new hype and all the new fansā€¦but nope. The only thing we can ever hope for is re-releases and remasters of old shit over and over againā€¦foreverā€¦even if the netflix show went for 3 more seasons. On the PS5/XBSeX era theyā€™ll probably just release Lords of Shadow games againā€¦and even that much effort is a MAYBE. Itā€™s some sad shit, imo. There will never be an actual new one.

Agreed. Seeing the Powerhouse Animation clip for the first time at the end of S1E1 had me going nuts for another Castlevania game. Shit had me playing OoE for the rest of that week lmao.

Donā€™t forget the mobile game breh

ā€¦

Konami was one of my favorite developers for a long time. I Day Juanā€™d MGS, Castlevania and Contra games for like 20 odd years and would buy random stuff theyā€™d publish as well(did ANYONE buy last-gens NeverDead?)

I donā€™t even think they have any talent left at the company. Iā€™m 99.9% sure both the recent Contra game and the mobile Castlevania game were outsourced to random developers. Itā€™s a shame because I used to love the company so much, but nowadays they have basically nothing to offer me anymore.

RIP Midway & THQ as well. Iā€™ve yet to play a modern Basketball title that was as good as NBA Jam or NBA Ballers, the latter of which was really creative. Now itā€™s just rehashed 2K titles every year which is boring as hell to me, and itā€™ll stay that way for a long time because 2K has a hold on the NBA license. Sure, they shit out the NBA Playground games but they might as well be indie NewGrounds adaptation of NBA Jam.

NBA Street was pretty fucking solid back in the day.

I used to love sports games like Madden, NHL, Fifa, NBA Live, etc, but once the games started to get a bit too realistic, I lost interest in them. They were more fun when they were quite a bit more arcadey, even if it was by accident.

I still consider NBA Street Vol. 2 the pinnacle of EA Sports & the best basketball game ever made.
