Each one tells the same story, but adds the new stuff from the new mangas
The 80’s had extra content because the manga was still ongoing, so they added the kids world cup and other stuff in the 4 movies. It ran from 1983 to 1986 with 128 eps.
The 89 ovas, Shin Captain Tsubasa were what wasnt adapted on the original series, aka the world cup sub16, it was 13 eps long.
The 1994 anime was Called Captain Tsubasa J, 47 episodes, the 1st 33 are the original series, from 34 to 47 is the 2nd manga, when Oliver goes to Brazil and the others are training for the world cup sub 20.
Since the new manga world youth was ongoing, the anime didnt finish the arcs.
Captain Tsubasa Road to 2002 was developed for the Korea Japan world cup, 52 eisode long, the 1st 19 episodes aka Road to Dream, are once again the original series, 20 to 31 aka Road to Sky is a remake of Shin Captain Tsubasa, 32 to 52 aka Road to Victory is all new, Tsubasa in Brazil, his struggles, Hyuga on Juventus, and Wakabayashi on Hamburgo and they then entering the 2002 world cup ending on the 1st match of the WC between Brazil vs Japan.
The anime doesnt end like the 2002 manga, since the 2002 manga was still ongoing, so the last arc is very different…
2018 Captain Tusbasa, is a new anime of 52 episodes, divided on 2 seasons, it is once again all the stories but this time the last parts following more the mangas.
On mangas it has the original 1981, Wordl Youth 1994, Road to 2002 from 2001, Golden 23 from 2005, Kaigai Gekito Hen from 2009, and Rising Sun from 2013 and ongoing.
Suffice to say, once that manga ends, bet your ass that we will get a new Captain Tsubasa on 2020 something, lol
