Oh 100%. Harada even said there’s no point in trying to make it now with both franchises going strong now. Cause when it was announced the FGC was in a weird revival stage and could have used it as a crutch.
Now there’s no need to. Fan boys can dream though.
I wouldn’t say zero ppl wanted it, especially after seeing how Harada translated Akuma and Geese into the Tekken system. If anything, he proved that TxSF could most certainly work if he did it. I doubted it but he made me a believer
I didn’t say that though? I just said harada sees no point in attempting it. People still very much want it. But it’s up to “Dont ask me for shit” Harada and Ono.
It’s the redundant IPS. It’s really not needed anymore because of the MvC2 style undizzys, but I believe Mike likes to keep it in because he doesn’t want loops.
The thing is, people like Guest Characters (well, to an extent, just ask Mortal Kombat’s obsessed Mileena fans). Guest Characters are fine because you just get a “crossover” without sacrificing your franchise’s fidelity.
But like seriously, why want TxSF when you can have Tekken 7 which is simply better than anything a crossover could become? Besides I think T7 Akuma pissed off so many people TxSF wouldn’t be received any better at this juncture.
Namco should skip TxSF and just create their own Fighters Megamix using characters from the various collabs/connections they’ve had over the years. They’ve worked with damn near everybody at this point. It’d be like Cross Tag, but 3D and actually great
There’s Top Tier and T7 Akuma Top Tier…which is pretty similar to any time Akuma is top tier in a game.
See, thats’ ALL crossovers should be for a long while. There’s such a rich tapestry of franchise a lot of FG companies haven’t really dug into in ages so before even having a single discussion with another developer they should be working on their own shit.
Oh. I missed that. It’s like saitsu wasn’t around for the plethora of SFxMK, SFxTekken, TekkenxMK, etc videos that were all over the fucking internet back in the early to late aughts. Or all the school yard arguments over which Fighting game franchise would win if they ever clashed.
And cross overs are still something people constantly ask for. It’s why guest characters always get so hyped because the general populous think a true cross over may be happening or could happen down the line
But since Saitsu said it isn’t that way so he must be right.
Oh SFxMK people still want. I mean most people realize that’s a horrifically bad idea, but I certainly am not gonna take that away from anyone for wanting it.
And Stu you know I’m always right. Just like everyone who emphatically says things.
But fine, I concede, people wanted a SF and TK crossover. They got it.
Boy you dont even want to know what I’m thinking in terms of all this.
It genuinely upsets me that how much pull front page writers have over people who use the site daily.
There are a lot of users who would’ve loved to so things to make SRK better but they dont have the tools or I dont have them. After that its a losing battle to contact Wiz anyway.
So its going to be people who barely care patting themselves in the back.
I’ll leave it at that. Not typing 2,000 words on how dumb a lot of decisions have been. FGC is too cliquey.
Thematically maybe.
But in terms of gameplay it will be also a trainwreck.
The way that MK works and is designed makes it really not viable as a crossover material.
Specially because they keep pushing for photorealism and hyperviolence.
Even KI has gone for a more stylized look and toned down the violence quite a bit.
